You Dr Cassette are the BEST you tube on electronics...you are one of my FAVORITE and The Main Vlogger that i check evereday if you upload somenthing NEW!! Just you know.....we are more who like your videos than others who are only simple humans whit no education and no future !! So KEEP IT LIKE THAT ...im from Sweden and be sure all the Planet watch your videos !!
this is not an 'unboxing video'. those are particularly stupid (the trend you referred to) because people would be opening new items like iphones, etc where we already know what is inside. the allure of those videos (to their intended audience) was the cutting of new plastic and such. this is a box of unknown vintage items and it is being revealed to us as the viewers. yes unboxing videos are stupid, no, this does not fall into that category. i wonder how sad and powerless people must feel that they would feel the need to comment 'i do not like this video' (or in a more foul way), thumbs down if you must, or just click away, it must reward their damaged ego to have some form of control over a content creator by trying to trash their work. i look forward to the repair of the HD camera and hope to see some 50fps footage in the coming weeks!
Your video's are great. I always marvel at how patient you are when repairing this items. Your channel is wonderful and informative. By the way, the still do unboxings I buy a lot of vinyl records and people still unbox those.

I'm a more or less new subscriber of the channel from just 2-3 months ago and I dig that recent content. In particular, I'm amazed how can I get fascinated watching a dead machine being disassembled. Don't change a bit. BTW, we're all intrigued as to whether the main camcorder works...
I hope to make another video testing the Panasonic HDC-SD707, and maybe some of the other devices as well :)

I've loved every DrCassette video.
I remember wanting one of those Panasonic 3mos AVCHD when i was in highschool so bad, its weird to see someone refering to them as old when i remember exactly when they came out.
Haha, same thing here, I remember when the HDC-SD707 came out in 2010. A year later the second hand prices had dropped enough that I could afford to get a used SD707. I did so purely based on the very good reviews the camcorder got, I only realized when I edited the first videos what a difference the 50p recording makes. No more quality loss caused by deinterlacing. But this is now 10 years ago, believe it or not, and technology has moved on. So these camcorders are now old. But this of course does not mean they are useless or bad ;)

I also like you videos too. I have gone on a miniDV collection binge. I now have the Sony TRV900 x 2 ,TRV950 , TRV10, TRV50 and HC1 HDV handycams and the HDV 700 video walkman unit.
That is quite a nice collection. I hope you got a good deal on the HDV Video Walkman, those are usually very expensive...

I have one of those Panasonic sdc 7xx camcorders, fantastic video quality 👍
I had a Panasonic HDC-SD707 back in 2011 and 2012. At the time the video quality was indeed fantastic, thanks to the progressive video not needing to be deinterlaced. The low light sensitivity however was not the best, and the auto white balance was rather erratic, it was better to do manual white balance. But I did shoot some great quality video on that camcorder, here is an example on my other CZcams channel: czcams.com/video/GHc5IFYCDOU/video.html

Ich finde es kommt darauf an was man "unboxed". Das auspacken von Paketen mit unbekannten Inhalt, ist für mich wie das auspacken eines Weihnachtsgeschenk oder das öffnen einer Wundertüte. Selbst wenn ich nur Zuschauer bin :-) Und wenn der Inhalt dann noch ein älteres technisches Gerät ist, so wie hier, dann bin ich ganz im Bann des Videos :-)
That Panasonic looks nice.....................where do you put the cassette ?
The cassette loads from the bottom, you can see the cassette compartment on the back of the camcorder.
Very cheap even if it was only the Panasonic.
5:02 That's 14-year-old camera, so an 8 gig Memory Stick in it is an incredible bonus!
Just now I finally got to take a look at the contents of the Memory Stick. It turns out it was last used in a Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). Somebody must have just put it into the camera because it happened to fit... Indeed, when this little camera was new, an 8 GB memory card was quite something!

Das war echt ein guter Kauf, mittlerweile habe ich beide Akkus geladen, und die SD707 funktioniert einwandfrei :)
