    I can't believe you only got 22 likes including mine. your FCPX tutorial series is the best, bar none, I've seen so far on youtube. and I've done more than my fair share of research, sort of. After watching tons of videos on FCPX and having finished reading this thick book on it, now I'm here binge-watching your video. Thanks. You're the man.

    Just AWESOME Izzy! Thank you for making these lessons! I've been a professional editor (Final Cut 7) and you've done a great job.

    Sorry to poke this comment in the middle of the series, but...I just wanted to say thanks. This is *exactly* the level and speed and tone of FCPX tutorial I've been needing. I jumped into the program without knowing what I was doing, so now...when in doubt, read the instructions--or watch your tutorials! Really well done. You're going through the software methodically, and you're not glossing over details, which can be so frustrating. Thank you, thank you.

    Oh my God I didn’t know you could use the position tool like that! Thanks! I’m going to become so smart with this program. I was always just inserting a gap

    Is there an easy way to turn off audio for the B roll? Like when you did that as a connected clip, is there a shortcut you can click on, or A way to get the system to know whenever you connect a clip like that you don’t want the audio of the top one? Actually if I think about my timeline in my videos, nothing above the main timeline is anything I want to hear audio from. It’s only the main timeline and whatever audio tracks are below it. So essentially nothing above the main line should have actual audio. If I can set up for that, that would be good. For now I am clicking on the clip and then I am clicking on the audio icon on the top right and then I am clicking on the decibels and then I am taking it all the way to the left

    Is there anyway to save your project? I think it’s really cool that it automatically saves everything regardless. That’s some next level stuff. However, I feel like sometimes I might want to just revert back to where I left off on Thursday or something. So if I have a way to just save on Thursday, that would be great. That means I could just go back to that version. Just in case things get messed up or I can’t remember how I had something set up or I undo too many things or whatever. Also the other day, a clip on my timeline got messed up. I undid all the effects I did to it, yet There were some very weird partial effects still left on it. The program jacked up my clip. So I had to remove it and then import it again. And it’s not the first time something like that has happened. A few months ago, there is a weird sound on one of my clips and I was so confused. Well I had to remove it and import again, and it wasn’t there anymore

      Some tips:
      1. Everytime I hit a major milestone, I just duplicate the project with a "v1" etc tag at the start
      2. sometimes weird stuff can happen if you don't copy files into the project

      Hi Izzy good morning. I own an iMac 2TB and have three extra HDD's on my desktop. When I start to make a new video, I want the whole video to be stored on my 5TB HDD #3. How do I tell my system it has to do so?

    • @izzyvideo
      @izzyvideo  Před 6 lety +2

      Oh, I see. Thank you for the clarification. :)
      When you set up a new Library, do a few things:
      1) Create a new project folder on that hard drive
      2) Save a new Library file in that project folder
      3) A couple options here: either store the media in the library bundle on that drive, or put the footage in that project folder as well and then choose to "Leave files in place" when you import
      I have a member video on my website you might want to check out. It demonstrates how I set up a new project: www.izzyvideo.com/izzy-video-325/
