Great vid thanks, LOVE the AC-15! 😁👍 I usually use the Top Boost channel(with the regular Channel’s volume all the way up) and set my Guitars(Mim Standard Strat, and American Pro Tele) on volume 5, then crank up the amp to compensate. That gives a nice rich bottom end, smooth mids, and a sweet singing top. I bought mine new in ‘014, it’s 100% stock, and I’m very, very happy with it.
great work my friend
Amazing video thanks for sharing…👏👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Top video on Vox amps!!! I wish it'll get 1M views
That would be cool! :)
Although I've also had AC30's, for anyone who can't carry a lot of weight to play live and bring the amp to and from the rehearsal room, the AC15 is much more manageable and the sound is very close; it's pure 'Vox' sound.
But almost no model has an effects loop and that's a big handicap when integrating them with effects pedals and in the studio. That's why I sold my AC15C1 not long ago.
I'm waiting for Vox to bring out an amp like the Blackstar ST. James or the latest Revv, with loadbox and Two Notes IR'S loading. It would be my dream amp.
Bang for the buck of the decade!
100%
Very good video n aVery good amp however I do prefer VOX AC10... 😁
Great review! This may be a stretch, are you able to do a video for the AC15C1x vs AC15CC1x? Differences between the china vs England blue speakers? Was excited to have gotten a 2nd hand CC1X but totally unaware of the differences😅
Interesting to know that mine came with the chinese blues from the factory. But when I researched and found out that the HW1X also came with the chinese blues, I didnt feel too bad. I know tone is subjective to every individual, wish I had access to U.K. blue speakers to compare.
Cheers
I don't have access to any of those at the moment but if I can get my hands on them, I'll gladly do a video.
I owned the AC15 C2 with greenbacks. That amp is super heavy, and bloody loud. Couldn’t play it in a bedroom level, have to get it loud to make the tube breaks. Might need some loadbox for this situation.
In the mix, with condenser and a single coil strat, it sounds too harsh for me. i kinda hard to get it right with a distortion pedal, need to tweak the tone cut.
With SM57 it just sounds right but needs to boost more gain from the mic pre.
But with clean Tele, sounds warm and perfect on both mics
I have a ' 16 Ltd Red thats never left my house The EL 84s are Sylvania JANs, can't remember the 12ax7s.
The Vox is such a wonderfully mysterious Amp. It's almost like trying out an Ebow in the store, "oh, this sucks!". Except, if you consider what's been done with it by people who learned how to use it. You need to form a relatioship w/ a Vox, and learn how to use it. "The Reverb suckks", but it's renowned for it's REVERB. It's great to have you explain this, but I really love the idea that I can also set it to SUCK/In the way.
It's also a shame that so many avoid the Top Boost channel. It's got that very brief, "invisible" swell that mianains a clarity no matter how hard you push. It's the one amp that I sctually question, what pedals do I need to bring? (We're on the same page w/ plenty of those, and I'm watching your EPIC pedals vid next!)
Thank's for re-posting this "all in one" vid. I still have the one's from years ago saved, but I truly appreciate the review material. I forgot a lot of these details. :)
Been awhile since I left a comment, but from one pedal lover to another and merely for you own enjoyment - 2 huge recommendations.
ROSS FUZZ - Just try it. Last thing that I thougth I needed was another FUZZ. This guy is truly unique, and all it does is fuzz.
Maestro Ranger O.D - Has replaced my old Treble Booster, but has also become an ALWAYS ON pedal.
Thanks for the awesome comment, Terry! I'll have to demo that Ross Fuzz as it seems to be right up my alley!
What kind of Treble Booster are you using? And when you play the Treble Booster, are you using the neck pickup? Is that a P90 neck in that Tele?
I was using a Northern FX Treble Booster, which was based on the Dallas Master. I was mainly using it with the neck humbucker, which is a Dimarzio 30th anniversary.
