I'm surprised no one brought up the fact that Repliclan is literally Batman bc of the whole Bat-Fam thing, like how Batman just collects a bunch of orphans and makes them his children/side-kicks
It fits even more than anyone thought
Glad someone noticed that probably unintentional connection, I though about that too
it also looks like a baterang
And it's "Brood" move could make for some nasty setups, like if both babies are out and they both have access to something like Nuzzle, Poison Sting, Poison Touch, or Poison Point, the babies could be there to apply status effects like Poison or Paralysis with their low-power status moves and/or abilities while the parent buffs it's defense and possibly also has access to something like Recover to really amplify it's bulky stat-line. It could turn Repliclan into a phenomenal "stall" Pokemon that relies on stuff like Poison and Toxic to actually take out an opponent, but at the same time they'd need to be wary of opposing Pokemon that also had Magic Bounce or Synchronize as their ability. It would be a tough Pokemon to deal with not due to raw power but because it can just wear you down via pure attrition and status effects if you lack a priority move strong enough to take Repliclan out quickly (Thunderclap from Raging Bolt for instance possibly being one of the few real "counters" to Repliclan).

I would say that the babies that fight alongside it after using its signature move would work like parental bond anyway
@@JacobMead-ph1cx This, also the fact that the additional damage caused by Parental Bond wouldn't make much sense logically if no offspring have even been spawned in yet.

the brooding gave me a terrifying thought
in generation 6 (might be in another generation not really well informed about Pokemon) it was shown that you could fight multiple wild Pokemon simultaneously 5 being called a horde
Repliclan can duplicate by brooding and have 2 copies per Repliclan
horde of Repliclan
15 opponents simultaneously
pray to whatever you believe in to spare you the lag and attacks of 15 battle-ready individuals
HP split went crazy

Baby replican shouldn't be able to be directed by the trainer. They just do the same thing the parent does. So all attacks now hit 2-3 times (depending on amount of babies). Sorta like parental bond
Should this be applied to stat buff/debuff moves too?
Replican used swords dance. +6 attack
I like to think the babies would work like a Substitute, that also applies the Parental Bond effect while they're on the field. Can only have 1 baby at a time, and handles moves exactly like Parental Bond

The way everything just comes together for Repliclan was soooooooo satisfying. The double meaning for brood, the multiplication of clones, the magic bounce belly, the typing matching a literal sea dragon, and the justification for the high HP stat contributing to the HP of a clone instead of completely losing the health. Absolutely genius delivery. This was probably the most satisfying episode in the series. Love the community you have now Ron. 😁
So agreed. I've never wanted to catch and use a pokémon made during one of these challenges more. Repliclan is just so cool!!

Repliclan is literally perfect. It's even got a complementary concept to Palafin's: Palafin matures alone and Repliclan raises its young to be strong together.
"dance" moves are an actual category.. imagine if an Oricorio used Revelation Dance and Freejoles got mad and got +3 Sp. Atk
That would be a cool ability

Don't forget that Dancer duplicates dance moves, so you could have Freejoles use a dance move, Oricorio would copy it, Freejoles would get mad and increase its SpAtk, and then Oricorio would actually take its turn and probably use a dancing move - boosting Freejoles again

For Replican's shiny, the little guys should have the color scheme of red and green. This is because the design is a clear indication of Batman, so Batman's sidekicks or the "Robins" are red and green. Therefore, they should have a contrary lighter shade than a darker one.

The story I imagine for freejoles, is it replaces the magic beans in the story of Jack and the giant beanstalk. And it gets another form, where plants the bean, its body plan flips its tail is being side down, and it becomes a giant at the top of the bean stock.
I think a shiny ho-oh would make a good golden goose that freejoles could help you catch.

Honestly, the size works. Batman doesn't have powers, so it's metaphorically a cool idea for his seahorse equivalent to be much smaller than Palafin.

It feels like quiver dance, bug buzz and hyper voice perfectly fit freejoles which would also be absolutely terrifying to deal with considering it's so fast and has no quad weakness to ensure a kill
Repliclan is the perfect batman to Palafin's superman. Lower stats better typing, more defensive (more prep) and a family
It would definitely be interesting if in their dex entry it said something about how they are all orphans. Maybe due to a predator that always eats the parents soon after the eggs are laid?
The few that survive and grow up collect the abandoned eggs and store them in their pouch, females generally do not survive.

And that’s probably too obvious. Ron’s creativity is always refreshing
Repliclan being that fast works well for the Batman angle funnily enough. Batman has a knack for just somehow showing up where his villains don't expect him. Stealth is a vital part of Batman's aresenal after all. Plus, Batman is also a very swift, lateral thinker. Going first much of the time is similar to that bit of Batman characterization
i imagine Repliclan's baby working like a mix between Disguise and Parental Bond - it will take damage for the parent, but only up to the amount of HP it was born with, and it can repeat 20% of the damage dealt by the parent

Hey, I've got an idea, for a challenge for you and other fakemon artists. How about trying out a collab type art. The idea is using your different categories for each artist, they would get some kind of prompt. So one would get Type, another would get Color, another stats, ect. Then one person starts the drawing with the prompt they have as a starting base, then passes it on to the next person, who would improve the drawing based on the prompt they have, then pass it on to the next, and this goes on until the last person receives it. It'd be interesting to see what a group art for fakemon would come up with working together. You could also leave behind on the art on what your prompt was, so that the next person knows what they are dealing with. For example if someone receives the prompt Wolf for their body, they would draw a wolf or wolf like shape and add to the side that the body is a Wolf, then pass it onto the next person, who let's say has the Typing Electric/Fire, then on the side under or above body they would add in the typing, and add to the art the typing for them, then passes on, and so on. The idea is that everyone is creating a single pokemon together, using your different categories.
this series is so fun, and is really inspiring!!! love all the creativity that comes with it :D

Found it funny that everyone focused on the literal meaning of "dancing around", when there's the more common meaning: to avoid discussing something or dealing with it directly. So you could have had a nervous, unpredictable Pokémon that hates it when you refuse to directly engage or interact with it (funny in an ironic way).
Also ironic given you used the double meaning of brooding when making the first fakemon, yet you took the other at face value.

Brood - This pokemon sacrifices double the HP to create a substitute, which in turn has double the substitutes normal hp. While this pokemon has a substitute out, its attacking moves gain a 20% damage boost.
Due to its red tail, let it learn both shed tail and substitute,

The way I imagine the babies working mechanically is like they act like Substitute and if a second baby is spawned it adds the second baby's HP to the substitute blocking attacks. For the offensive side of it, just make each baby a 1.1 boost to the BP of moves
