    Very good service video. This is a three stage compressor, the compression stroke is stages 1 and 3, the piston moving down compressses air behind the piston, the V shaped copper tube moves 2nd stage air to the 3rd.
    It is excess grease from the lower shaft seal which migrates into the high pressure side that causes the dirt that jams valves.
    I have run silicone oil through the compressor, one drop at a time over 5 minutes of running, to clean valves. It takes about 5 ml of silicone oil to clear all debris. I wrap a paper towel over the outlet to catch the dirty oil. This completely restores like new function.
    Great idea on the hour meter. A 12 volt hour meter wired parallel to the motor should also work.

    Thanks for posting this video! I am pretty mechanically inclined, but, I have never serviced a high pressure air compressor before and this walked me right through it. I did do things a little differently when it came to disassembling mine. But overall, your camera work and details made this a breeze!👍🏼 my compressor runs better than new now!

    Great tutorial man. I've got a small toauto compressor that quit pumping completely. Now i have the courage to take apart and try what you have done here to maintain the compressor. If it still doesn't work after trying this i wont be out anything except time. Thanks a million! 😊

      They tend to work again after a good cleaning. Just be deliberate and organized in your disassembly. Also snag the oil and grease I linked to in the description. You will need that for sure.

    This video is a god send. Mine is a Vevor, but the only difference that I can see is that there is a plastic air intake hose that attaches to what appears to be a filter of some kind to the case. I left to comment on Vevor Video. I think from watching this video, what the tech from Vevor is a cylinder is actually the piston. I’m going to watch your video again then take mine apart and clean it up good. Hopefully it will work without having to wait another three weeks for the part to come from China unless you know a place to source them in the US.

      The Orcair from that video is good if you're on a budget. However they just released a new digital compressor which is awesome for a little bit more. Not sure how the new digi one will stack up to the ToAuto A3. The ToAuto is a WORKHORSE

      It's just a little vent/filter. Not attached to anything on this compressor but on my Vevor it has a tube going to the compressor head. On the ToAuto A3 it is not used, but present for some reason.

    Hey bro I did all this but now I hv a new problem. I saw some water coming out of the release valve. So I opened it up again and saw water inside the piston. Hv any idea what is the issue?

    • @airshootist
      @airshootist  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yep! You absolutely, definitely, certainly, for sure need to close the bleed valve after every fill and run the compressor with nothing attached to drain the condensation. Every compressor will build up water and you need to purge it. I just took apart my Vevor since it would stop pumping and found water in the cylinder. This was my own fault for not draining it after every use, when I found that water I definitely kicked myself! I could have just purged it rather than fully disassembling the compressor! Lesson learned!
