Decided to go back to the Long Beach Flea Market with Badlands Vintage. I found so many amazing finds and I also ran into MaCenna! It’s been so much fun shopping for the new house and I’m currently on the hunt for hardware for the kitchen cabinets. I also did some grocery shopping because with how much time I’ve been spending over at the new house I needed some essentials!

Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed. Leave any future video ideas you would like to see in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe!
Another vote for keeping the chair. Recovered in a very plush velvet. It'll be the chair your guests gravitate to just as you did.
Plush velvet in burgundy or forest green, it would look so richer then that actual colour.
Yes, that would look spectacular!
This is what I'm thinking! In a nice, rich, burgundy velvet would look amazing.
Yes, first of all, why aren't wheelchairs that comfy and styled looking??
Secondly, I adore forest green, with the -wood- rattan of the chair, wow. I just bought a cushy throw in that color. I feel like it was gone for awhile, but maybe it's back!
OMG I love this idea!!!
I call that a "pretzel" chair and I think the set is great!
It totally does look like a pretzel! Thank you for reinventing this for me :)
Yes! I saw pretzel too! Definitely keep it. I do think reupholstering would give it some new life too!
Lovely ‘reframing’ going on there! Well done! 😂
I totally agree!
It actual is a pretzel chair by the way! Chairish sells something very similar but not with ottoman so again KEEPER!
Drew, the chair does not look like a wheelchair! It’s sculptural and amazing! I would reupholster the cushions in a velvet performance fabric. My couch is velvet performance fabric and it wears so well, and looks great! Congratulations on the house!
It looks very like Heywood Wakefield, a famous streamline art deco furniture company from the era of Luke's house.
OMG I m an antique dealer in France and honestly that chair with the foot rest is absolutely AMAZING! so stylish and unique - a huge keeper well done you have a great eye!
Keep the wheelchair chair! You can style it so cute with a woven blanket or flannel blanket it’s so so unique
Be careful of too much unique.
The chair is a amazing, re upholstered it will be so cool
Keep the chair! It’s amazing! Wheelchair didn’t come to mind when I saw it. 😊
@@barbaraspector6689 never too much unique. ❤
Reupholstered in an ikat or kilm fabric chef’s kiss
I like the “wheelchair” chair! I think if it’s reupholstered and it has different walls behind it, it will look incredible!!
I agree!! The blue really doesn't help
@@lonefox if the fabric is mohair and in good condition you might not reupholster it! It’s gorgeous!
That's not a wheel chair! Recovered it'll look cool!
Re-name it the pretzel 🥨 chair ?
It's giving me funky Eames or something.
I love how you’re mixing Art Deco with brutalist design! It all goes so well with your Spanish home. The “wheelchair” chair is adorable. A definite keep!
Reupholster that gorgeous chair. Don’t listen to anyone. It’s divine. 🎉😊❤
That's called a rattan pretzel chair. Super comfortable. Definite keeper!
That's cool. Thanks for sharing!
Yes! At first sight I said PRETZEL CHAIR! Yum. Keep.
I am SO glad you told us that! Now I can un-see the wheelchair and enjoy the pretzel!
@@sinovak1975 😂
What is the other woven reed chair called??? does anyone know THAT is a chair... love it
Keep the chair !!! Reupholster when you have time….. If it’s comfortable don’t worry what people say! Love the big trunk too. Store blankets in it . I love your taste….. it’s killer 💖
right!!keep the things u love!!
When watching this video I was imagining how happy the original creators of these hand crafted furniture pieces from yeeeaarrs ago would be to know their creations are being used and appreciated. I can't wait to see the handles for the cabinets and pretty much everything else LOL. XOXO😍😍
Looks like you need to bring two wagons next time. I love the fox door knocker. I can't wait to see how it looks on your door. Forget what people said about that chair, If you love it and it's comfortable, then keep it. I would add a chair pad to that one chair in the corner.
I love the chair! Just look haters dead in the face and tell them « it’s a wheel-y good chair » 🤓
Your secret drawer would be a great place to hide refill candles, matches, and cool snuffers.
I’m LOVing watching you antique and set up your home. This has been a super fun stretch for your channel and my respect for your taste grow each episode. I love your style!
@carolyn newburger that is the funniest thing ANYONES said here lol! I take back the wheelchair comment.
The fox knocker would be a really cute hand towel holder in the bath or kitchen. Loved all the finds, so cool!
Yes that's a fox not a wolf. We have them here in the UK on older buildings. Although it leans more towards a wolf. That would make a protective door knocker.🙏
@Nicole W. What a great idea!
Your neat wooden box is an old carpenter's tool box ! with a drawer for nails, screws etc. easy to lug around!
The trunk has a rounded top to keep anyone from stacking other trunks on top if you used them while traveling. They were the original 'luggage'!
Make sure your copper ware is well 'tinned' inside or you can't use it for food! It can be done by a good metal worker or 'tinker'!
Definitely clean and re-cover that rattan non-wheelchair, in any durable cloth with a high
wear-factor' number (ask your upholsterer for recos) that you like. You don't have to remove the old stuff unless there's smoky smells or possibility of bugs (eewwww!). part of the fun of old chairs is seeing the layers of old cloth when you re-cover them an see it's history!
Beautiful haul, your place is coming together so nicely! 🥰
Dave’s wife here. I think you should send the pretzel chair to me! I have been looking for that chair for ages! It is a design from Paul Frankl and very unique and hard to find. Lucky you!
Sometimes the items that you purchased don’t look that great to me, then you style it and it looks so beautiful. You have a great eye for that. It challenges me to look at things differently. 😊
I completely agree! He always makes me love the stuff that I didn't think I liked!
I will say that when I first started a lot of the pieces that I like now, I would have HATED back then! Your eye really develops as you craft more spaces!
It doesn’t look like a wheelchair to me. You will love it after you recover it and find just the right spot for it!
Drew, the large wooden trunk is a blanket box and the little wooden "shelf" towards the top of the trunk was originally built in to hold candles. The trunks were often locked as candles were very expensive so kept under "lock and key".
This is super interesting! Thank you so much for that insight! I too will use as a blanket box im sure!
Great to know. Candles are still expensive! Especially for good quality ones.
I love it! It is a keeper and stool!
@@lonefox blankets and seasonal pillows. the wood and some beeswax candles makes everything smelling fresh, great find.
Definitely put some cedar balls inside the trunk to deter moths. Just incase :)
Look at the base of the chair to see if it's Heywood Wakefield. It looks very like their style. They did a lot of iconic furniture pieces in the early 20th Century. That chair is a find. Ignore the haters.
The rustic shelf, the door knocker, the Spanish chest, everything - FABULOUS! And keep the rattan chair, just reupholster in something colorful, or better yet, something with a lot of texture.
Omgosh, this was so much fun and no lie everything is just so unique and perfect for your home. Please keep the chair , honestly wheelchair never entered my mind , I think it looks like a piece of art and a very comfy reading chair, don't you think ? Thanks for taking me along !!
Oh I just love the ‘wheelchair’ chair 😍 A little reupholster and restain, and I can imagine grabbing a book and blanket on a cold evening! So many amazing finds!!
I am LOVING your videos, your new home, all your trips to find unique antiques... I love your renovations, your KITCHEN OMG to die for! I am an older woman (just turned 66 today) married 47yrs (my dh is 72) and it's so much fun seeing your creativity on WARP SPEED! You never shy away from doing the hard work yourself either. It looks like you have a good family and great assortment of wonderful friends, and of course, you have US :).
I can't wait to see what your next video brings...
it doesn’t look like a wheelchair!! reupholster and keep it!! so stunning!
Can I just say Drew, you are a beautiful soul. Your love for life and anything beautiful radiates through your personality. I enjoy your videos so much because of your positivity and optimism. EVERYONE needs a Drew in their life! ❤
Me too. Everything said
Agree 100% with you Dena and Rita!
Truth
I don't see wheelchair, I see a pretzel! I love the chair - when it is recovered, it will be amazing! Good find!
I saw pretzels too! Isn't it funny how we all see different things? As much as I love iron the candle holder totally gives me prison vibes! Maybe Drew can do his take on dark academia?
You will have to make a pillow with an appliqued pretzel on it. Or design a pretzel scroll to stencil on it.
Definitely keep the chair. Apart from anything else, the design is in keeping with the period of your house.
I LOVE the chair, I don't see a wheelchair at all, it's gorgeous. Imagine it upholstered in a ikat fabric!!? LOVE ❤️
PS: that toolbox could be cool for pretty cut wood next to your fireplace
And the trunk could be your blanket/pillow box at the end of your bed
I nearly forgot, I got so excited when you showed us the easel! I know it's probably too delicate right now but I wonder if you could stabilise it enough to put your flatscreen on there? I've seen it done and when you're not watching tv you can put a cute landscape screensaver on and it looks like a painting.
I want to do this myself
This is probably not what you were intending, but the ending just got me thinking that I’m so happy for you Drew :) the fact that you’ve turned your passion into a stable career that I can tell makes you so happy and excited each day is just goals
Aww Maddie thank you so much. Even if I made $0 from this, I would still make videos! It's in my DNA haha!
It does NOT look like a wheel chair. It really is a classic style. It is quite lovely and unique.
The wheelchair: I would keep it but recover it. It doesn't actually look like a wheelchair. I love, love the Fox door knocker.
Super Finds !!!!! really nice things. it's fun watching you assemble your decor to create your Ultimate Space. Thanks for taking us along !! it's Such FUN !!!!
UGH! Those dining chairs are EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! Also: Your other chair: NOT wheelchair, Pretzel chair!!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ❤ it!! It’s a keeper. Never second guess your choices, you have exquisite taste. Look how fabulous your floors and kitchen cabinets turned out!!! All of your design ideas are unique and beautiful…..keep being YOU!! Thanks for sharing your great videos!
My college age daughter, recommended I follow you. She was so right! You are very talented. I love seeing your videos.
Love the fox door knocker! Can’t wait to see it on your front door.
Please keep the chair. You are so creative, I know you will place it somewhere great. And, it certainly DON'T look like a wheelchair to me. I personally LOVE it. 💘
Reupholster the chair like you did that faux leather chair, love the Fox door knocker, and the copper pots. Awesome jobs
I have a chest like that. It belonged to my great grandmother. She used it when she traveled to America (and returned to Norway 2 years later. ) I keep my Christmas decorations in it. And every year I open it, it makes my heart so happy. ❤️
That sound so magical!
My husbands great grandfather brought his woodworking tools to Australia from England in 1910. We use it now to store our Christmas decorations !! It doubles as a coffee table!
The chair is a reverse pretzel chair do not get rid of it! They usually cost 2500.00 to 3500.00
No keep the pretzel chair! It's so cool! That doesn't look like a wheelchair
It’s absolutely stunning what you’re doing. I love how over the years you have found your style.
honestly I wholeheartedly agree. drew has exponentially developed as a designer. i adore his style!
And the Fox door knocker🦊 - how perfect is that??
The style of the house is Spanish so…
Thank you so much Sophia! I too will say that. have found my style. It truly does take some experimenting but once you get it down, it feels amazing!
The anticipation is killing me. 😅 I can't wait to see the house styled up with those amazing items.
If the chair makes YOU happy, then most definitely keep it! I would reupholster it with plush velvet, just as others have suggested. Enjoy your beautiful, antique finds!
Do NOT get rid of the chair! It's beautiful! Love your videos by the way. I'm living vicariously through your decorating experiences!
Omg no don‘t get rid of the chair! It‘s so unique and pretty! I love everything you got so much
Great finds; keep the ‘wheelchair’ and reupholster it; it’s coming together and can’t wait to see the place when you move in - thanks for sharing your journey Drew!
You should do an update on your trouble with sleeping and anxiety, that video was so relatable 😢 and the Spanish revival looks amazing!!
Keep the chair it's not for everyone. You love it and wanted it for YOUR space ! Keep Keep Keep
that fox knocker is sooo cute 😍
I'm in LOVEEE with the kitchen. At first, I didn't get the vision when the color was mentioned....but now... IN LOVEEEE. You did that drew.
Awwwww too sweet! So glad you like it!
Keep the chair! When you were at the flea market and saw it, my mouth dropped. It a beautiful sculpture that happens to be a chair.
I don’t see “wheelchair” when I look at the velvet chair. I see awesome Art Deco comfy chair.
Great finds. LOVE the leather ottoman and the forged art candleholder.
Love all the items you purchased. Successful thrifting day. Please keep the chair it’s an icon from the 60-70’s. Good luck with your beautiful home. Can’t wait to see room by room after your done with them, by the way love your kitchen you are so creative. God Bless
The wheelchair lovers have it!!! And I agree. It's gonna look lush when you're through with it. What a wonderful ride you are on and I am so stoked that you are sharing it with us!!!
I LOVE your finds and NO the chair does not look like a wheelchair!!! I wish I had your ideas of how to decorate, your style is so unique. Ignore the opinions of those that “don’t get it.” You keep doing your thing. And I love your personality, so sweet caring. 🙂
keep the chair and reupholster it-it'll add a nice contrast to the more substantial pieces you are collecting. Love the wall sconce-so perfect for your style home! You have so much fun with your friends searching for treasures-I love that you include all of us along with you
It’s ALL so gorgeous!! Personally, I LOVE the “wheelchair” chair. It’s unique & kinda campy… a great conversation piece. 👍
It's a fun one yah!
Campy is a great description and why it can fit.
That fox knocker is incredible!!! 😍😍😍
Keep the chair, just recover it in a fun and very comfortable fabric. I think it will end up being a focal point in any room!!! This is the first time to see your show and I know I am going to be hooked.!!!
I’m calling it the ‘pretzel’ chair! Keep it, rehab it and then decide if you want to sell it!
I just have to say,I love your excitement. Believe it or not it’s makes me enjoy your video more. Your the grandson I would love. ❤️❤️
Theresa, me too! He is so charming, disarming, and Fun!
Another granny.
Ahhhhh that first shot of the kitchen almost made me cry. Everything is looking absolutely stunning!
IT ALMOST MADE ME CRY TOO!!!
@@lonefox ‘You are too cute!’ I love you love doing what you are doing! It makes you (& us) happy too! 😘
I like the chair and recovering it to work with the room you decide to put it in is a really good idea. It doesn't look at all like a wheelchair to me. Think of all the research you're going to do while enjoying a nice comfy sit in that gorgeous set. 🙂
My grandma had glasses like those that are your housewarming gift! Also, KEEP the chair - maybe reupholster in a lighter shade so there is more contrast between the frame and the cushions to showcase the unique shape???
That sconce is gorgeous. It's also brutalist which can go with so many design aesthetics. Your home is coming together so beautifully, Drew!!
So growing up my mom had two of the “wheelchair” chairs in our beach home. They lean very tropical to me.
I can see the tropical look but also it gives off an old Hollywood feel, romantic…whimsical.
I thought the same thing. It looks like furniture for a sunroom or patio.
I would strip the rattan stain back to its natural tan color, and reupholster the cushions in a kilim-pattern fabric. I love the wall sconce!
I've never seen chairs with backs that move like that! Great find. Can't wait to see how you style everything. Some green touches would go nicely with all the brown. Keep the pretzel chair w / new fabric. The rounded shape is good. I'm a fan of the sconce too.
Watch Drew's house turn into a museum of dark wood furniture and accessories hahah!! Everything is so absolutely gorgeous, and watching you gather everything in every video is going to make the final styled result all the more magical. Can't wait!
At least colorful accessories can be swapped out affordably.
Yes!!!!!
OMG I keep gravitating towards all the dark wood! Once I get into the house and actually start placing pieces I'll bring in other elements and colors :)
I can see this looking fabulous when it’s styled with neutrals and maybe a whimsical color.
I gasped so loud at the wall sconce you got !!!! It’s so perfect!!! Loving all your finds! We can really see your vision for your home coming together! ❤❤
Wasn't that such a great piece and for $60!
The chair carrying waddle, that's IT for me! Love it.
Keep the chair reupholster it. It's a unique chair and I'm sure whatever or however you fix it to suit your house it will be awesome.
Put the Fox knocker on master bedroom door! Chair does look a bit wheel chairish, but reupholstered might be the fix, it’s unusual and that screams you if you can make it work.
Also - all the intricate lighting you have will be a lot to dust. My trick to to dust such items is w/a new short handle paint brush 😃 I have two I only use for dusting intricate items, baseboards, windowsills, etc. Works fantastic!
Good call on the easel. With all the beautiful heavy furniture you're getting it will make a nice contrast. And they're so convenient for displaying art you don't want to permanently attach to the wall. The Spanish chest was one hell of a bargain. Cheers.
Still another vote for keeping the chair. It’s classic bent bamboo that brings comfort with strong geometric design elements. Strong design, comfort with an airy lightness. What’s not to like? There’s nothing about it that looks like a wheelchair.
KEEP the chair!!! You love it. And so do a lot of people! 😊
Living through Drew vicariously 🥰
Drew you are mesmerising. I love watching you. So talented. Thank you.
I love the chair but it needs to be reupholstered! Great deal on the cookware!💜
Those pots and pans were a steal!! Great haul!!
Love the Spanish chest and the fox knocker!
You really scored!
I could watch you shop everyday!! It’s magical watching you get excited and imagining where things will go!
Oh wow! You have such a talented keen eye for design & decor! The color is PERFECTION!!!
I think it looks like a pretzel and I LOVE!!!❤ Listening to her laugh so hard at you carrying it to the car is SO funny. The copper cookware is Beautiful and that fox door knocker is EVERYTHING!❤
My 5 year old son thinks pretzels look like hearts so that’s another vote for the chair!
🦊 LOVE the door knocker !!!! I think that is a miracle that you found it. And he is a Lone 🦊 ! The trunk is so olde world looking. Fabulous find to totally fit in with your gorgeous home. I don’t think the chair looks like a wheelchair. The cabinets are perfection. I wasn’t sure ! Sorry for doubting oh Foxy one !!!! Blessings from Orange County. 🎃
I can't wait to see your home come together with everything you bought at the market and everything you've purchased since you've started on your home
Please keep your chair. Recovering it in som fun fabric will make a HUGE difference. Everything you found at the market is going to fit so beautifully in your new home. Listening to your excitement makes me happy. Have a fun day.❤
Absolutely love the old tool box, my grandfather had a couple and it's been years since i've seen one! Very nostalgic, thank you. Love your videos!
Keep the chair..I love the uniqueness of it💙The cabinet colour is everything, especially with that gorgeous marble!!
The chest with the dome top was used by people who had a bit of money. These chests had to sit on top of the flat lidded chest and were usually the first ones off-loaded. Keep the rattan chair and ottoman.
Love the chair! I would like to see it upholstered in an unexpected, sumptuous fabric. Yum!
I LOVE all your flea market finds - especially the padded chair/foot stool!
I love the chair and ottoman, and it would be gorgeous to recover them in vintage kilim rugs, or velvet, too. Everything you got is amazing. I love how personalized your house is going to be, and that kitchen…there are no words!!
Keep the bamboo chair and ottoman. Re cover the upholstery and and refresh the bamboo with Scandinavian oil. Will look fabulous
The chair gives me pretzel vibes, not wheelchair vibes. Not sure if that's better but I love anything that has a geometric pattern to it's design, which this chair def does.
The chair is a stunner. Beautiful lines.
I’m getting a bit worried that your home will be too brown, and very dark, but I’m sure you will have a solution to that. You always make everything look wonderful 👍
I’ve had the same thought. The vibe is becoming very heavy blocky dark wood furniture, a dark brown theme, with lots of amber glass casting dim yellow light. That’s not my vibe but I’m sure you will pull it off!
I think you're right. Thank you for saying something. He needs a dash or several dashes of some other color in the house. It's just too brown
I disagree. It’s a huge home and will require so much more than what is there. Keep going Drew! I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. 😊💕
Drew is such a talented decorator…I feel like he has a master plan in his mind that we will all love
My thoughts too. It’s almost becoming a dark, gothic castle. But maybe he surprises us but all those black chandeliers and candleholders looks so heavy and medievel to me.
That foam bread looks so real I could see my husband taking a bread knife to it. Foam would be flying everywhere LOL…
I love the chair, if you love it keep it. It’s not up to anyone else. You do you. 😊
That reed chair is so beautiful!!!!! I also love that trunk!!! Fabulous!!!!
