- Every character in the Super Smash Bros Series had some kind of change with their taunt over the years. Whether it being a change in animation, a shorter version, voice line change or even getting a completely new taunt such as Mario losing his original taunt for something brand new.

Fox's voice changed each game and for some reason the shorter taunts in ultimate make some of the longer taunts look unnatural
The best voice of fox is brawl. Second would be ultimate.

@@ChuckE.CheesesIllinois which ironically enough, is his original VA from star fox 64. Mike West. The only one of the two who didn’t keep their voice actor from SF 64 was Falco. I don’t know why.

The taunts are noticeably shorter in Ultimate.
Which was a really dumb decision since they were just gonna make them cancelable
They cut off Pikachu's voice clip too. They gutted so many taunts for no reason.
They had to make ultimate a faster pace game, but you can’t even use taunts in competitive, so why are you cutting them to be faster? It doesn’t make sense

Why does everyone like this taunt? It makes sonic sounds mean and makes sonic a villian, since sonic is a hero. Sonic Speed makes great sense, even the mario mushroom taunt is better.

I hate how Ultimate made all the animations so fast. It kind of takes away the personality the taunts are supposed to have. You can still cancel the taunts so I'm not sure why they did that

Many taunts got upgraded in ultimate, but many got shortened to better fit the play style which really isnt enjoyable but it's understandable

Charizard went from a random Pokémon assisting on whoever's side by standing at the spot its PokéBall was spawned on and breathing fire left and right in 64 and Melee until it was playable in Brawl with Pokémon Trainer and his Ivysaur and Squirtle and it was a standalone character in 4 Wii U and 3DS and it was back to square one Brawl mechanics again in Ultimate. 20:52 Joker is my #1 all time favorite Smash character and my favorite taunt, too! Hands down!

Brawl had some better taunts because they weren't so fast but ultimates audio quality is better only because it released much after.but the brawl taunts felt more fun to use as they had a bit more style and emotion put into it instead of it being sped up a lot

Everything's a brawl I always wondered why they only gave snake one taunt. It would have been nice if he had a taunt where an "!" would appear over his head. And another time where he would just let me kneel down and say something like "colonel!" , "OTOCON?" or "I'm in."

I’m honestly pretty disappointed that a lot of the characters in Ultimate, with the exception of the game’s newcomers, have taunts that are either sped-up (looking at you, Mario), drastically shortened (looking at you, Kirby, and Peach), or even both... ☹️ I never saw the point of this... Same goes for many of the veteran fighter’s victory fanfares. Once again either faster, shorter, or both... I don’t see how they can be classified as new, that’s just lazy... 🙄 The only veterans I can think of that actually do have legit new fanfares are the Earthbound kids: Ness, and Lucas, the Mii Fighters: Brawler, Swordfighter, and Gunner, and the Fire Emblem cast being one for the Awakening crew: Lucina, Robin, and Chrom, and one for Fates’ protagonist: Corrin, that’s it.

I love the fact that Smash 4 mastered Sound Design with the Foley taunt so they can reuse it for Ultimate and probably for the next one.
Also the character design from "realistic" in Brawl from more colourful design at 4 and Better design from original instead of a "different vibe" for an edgy version as Brawl was.
Smash for 3DS & Wii U was the Peak of Smash Design in those terms.
