You think Brandon hydes poor coaching and pinch hitting substitutions that make no sense most of the time. The approach is a complete 180 from last year, no patience and it looks like everyone's tryna hit a HR every at bat. Hydes gonna drag this team down.

@ericweidman3806 yep. 11 hits and 0 for 10 woth RISP. I think it's the approach and the poor lineups that hyde puts out there. For a team that's 27-14 you can have 3-4 weaknesses in your lineup going out there almost everyday. It makes no sense

The Streak does not live because the Rangers broke it and I hate that we just pretend they didn't because it's a "regular season" streak. I'm sorry I hate being a buzzkill but it just irks me lol.
@@trashasaurusit’s always been a regular season streak. Just like any other team and individual record. The Yankees in the middle of their streak that they had during the Ruth era were swept in the World Series. Point is, regular season stats/records and postseason stats/records are never combined,
Wait but the game 2 of this series was canceled so its being made up july 29 so if we lost the streak still would’ve been alive right.

What this does not highlight and should is that Hyde had the only game in his managing career that I've seen that he botched. Santander on third and you bunt with Mcann 3 times? There is so much wrong with that single play, you are not just being creative, you are putting 1million on 17 in roulette. Santander already hurt his knee running into the wall. He is not a speedster of any kind. Was he even playing it like a squeeze? Then you bunt with two strikes after 2 whiffs?
8:06 Santander should have been called safe. He was tagged on the chest after he had completely slid past the bag. but whatever.
I'm not poking Hyde for being horrible overall. One bad game doesn't demote the deserved manager of the year from '23. Maybe he was reacting to not getting runs in in the past few games...
50 years of watching and listening to the Os starting as a fan on Long Island. I've never turned off a game because the Os were losing, but this new dynasty is fun to watch.

I mean he LOOKED safe at home. Based on the angles I saw, he looked like he just managed to get his hand on the edge of the plate just before the tag...but I suppose his hand could have been ABOVE the plate despite looking like he was touching it. Idk, seems like a bad call. I understand that they need to err on the side of the original on field call if it's not obvious, but that was a crucial spot in the game and warranted a very thorough analysis...instead it seemed like they just rules against the Os because the Os challenged both the umps call and that there may have been a violation. The umps HATE when teams use a challenge. Whereas if they did their jobs correctly even close to 100% of the time teams wouldn't bother. Instead we have a league full of incompetent umps who are without any REAL oversight from the league, their only oversight is run by the union they are employed by. That's basically asking a criminal to investigate themselves and wondering why that investigation cleared them. While I understand the err on the side of caution approach, sometimes there's no excuse not to get it RIGHT. This was one of those times. And maybe they did. But we can't just TRUST them to get it right because they've proven to be not only unreliable but unaccountable for their bad performances time and time again. For years fans have been begging for the MLB to just terminate whatever deal they have in place with that corrupt union, and train their own umps. But then there will inevitably be talk of rigging if the league itself is the final arbiter on what's called. Though I agree that balls and strikes are far more urgent to fix, the "robots" calling a perfect zone for each and every batter has more of an overall impact than the comparatively few occasions a questionable call on the bases and field contributes.
Anyway, excellent result for the Os with Adley doing it right. Good work.

Never have I ever been more perplexed by an approach than I was with this game with McCann trying to bunt with two strikes, one out, 1st and 3rd, tying run at 3rd in the form of a not-too-speedy Santander. It is the oddest, most head-scratching thing Ive seen, it didnt work (nor should it have)....and the Os STILL find a way. Hyde, please never, ever, do that again. Cheers!

Learn the difference and no its not close enough. Oh and yea i played baseball for 20 years and softball for 15 years. I even tried out for the Brewers in my early 20s so yea i know exactly how hard it is to hit a major league pitch, however thats their job. Thats what they get paid to do, not me.
