I love watching reactions to people who are discovering Sleep Token, they hail from London. They have gone through the roof since releasing the album TMBTE, it is a masterpiece , but all their previous stuff is brilliant as well. Their Wembley Arena concert tickets sold out in 10 mins, to 10,000 fans. They are phenomenal WORSHIP❤️
You can’t box these guys into a genre, my friends. They are a genre. Sleep Token will always make you feel something, too. There’s just something about the music and the lyrics that tug on the heartstrings. The touring band is four people, but there are only two official members: Vessel (singer) and II (drummer). Guitar and bass are done by session musicians for live shows, but they’re very much seen as official members. Song writing and recording of everything that isn’t drums is handled by Vessel - guitar, bass, synth, piano/keys, etc. II writes all the percussion. It’s an unorthodox setup, but it works! That’s for sure!

If you follow them from their first album Sundowning, the songs if this album (TMBTE) would make more sense. Basically the story Vessel weaves is about a toxic relationship and every album is like a movie trilogy, as in you want to watch the first one so you understand the third one better. Only with music and lyrics telling the story instead of movies. Anyway....glad your digging them. Most of us in the ST congregation relate to the songs in our own ways, but common denominator is a tortuous relationship and loss that is Vessel's story and we've all shed tears because it pulls on your heart strings and hits you in the feels.
