Despite that long drought of content, I was really, really happy with Champs this year. I feel like Next Evolution was incredibly fresh with new ideas and I love every hero in the wave. Cable blew my mind when I played him, he was surprisingly more complex than I expected and I had tons of fun - Domino didn't really click with me, but my Champions New Years resolution is to play the heroes I don't enjoy as much and try to find a way to appreciate them, so she'll be getting plenty of play time soon and I'm sure I'll love her. Anyways back to Cable, the idea of PSS adds so much to the game and I absolutely love them - they don't feel as overpowered as I expected (except for you, Specialized Training), but they're still cards I'll always look to include. Despite my love for Cable, I have to give my favorite hero of the year to X-23. After 3 games with her I knew she was in my top 5 favorite heroes in the game. After many more I knew she was my favorite hero in the game. The playstyle of readying and using basic activations is my favorite, and the way she uses damage as a resource is just so much fun. She's so versatile and yet always powerful and I can't stop playing her. For my favorite deck, over the summer I was going through Josh's 'Perfect Matchups' and one of them was Wasp leadership. Wasp was my least favorite hero in the game, but I gave her another shot and built a deck focused on Med Lab recurring Moon Girl, while hsing Wasp's AE ability to shuffle in Nick, Professor X, and Genius, and man is that deck so much fun. It caused me to play Wasp a lot more and while she's still not my favorite, I appreciate her a lot more! Definitely one of the most fun decks I've ever played. Anyways, I've typed more than I should - I'm playing Spirit Island right now (got it for Christmas since you and Villain mentioned it a lot and it is absolutely wonderful), but I just wanted to say it's been great watching your content - I really hopped in to the Champs community this year as I started watching you, D20, Villain, Web-Warrior Fanatic, and many others, and it's been an absolute pleasure. Can't wait to see what comes in 2024 - Age of Apocalypse here we come!
Such a fun read! Thank you so much for sharing! First off, heck yea Spirit Island! Love that hope you enjoy it so much! That Wasp leadership deck sounds really fun! I need to break her out again soon! Thank you for watching and thank you for supporting, hope your 2024 is fantastic
Well, I got into this game just this year so it's super hard to choose what would be favorite in all categories, I just love this game as a whole :-) But nice to hear your thoughts! I'm glad you liked playing multihanded games, two-handed is great way to play and I love this, just seeing two heroes team-up and having two different sets of actions every turn I find kind of refreshing.
Great content! I love this game, having started collection in July (and completing it in December). Soooo much to go through, but I love your videos for getting a grasp on everything! Have a great 2024!
I have most of everything, however. My newest hero I played was Thor, and I really wanted to use the minion thing so I played Ultron (using Thors Precon) I lost, but I did have a great time doing it hahah
Excellent as always. Some thoughts: 1. War Room: surprising choice that seems underplayed. If the designers continue to build up the "red leadership" design space (ala Boot Camp), I think War Room will see more and more play. 2. Mission Leader: We recently played multiplayer Leadership and Justice vs. Red Skull. The combination of Mission Leader and Skilled Investigator x2 was incredible. 3. I wonder what "Power Of..." cards we could see in the future. Several characters like Iron Man and Rocket could use a "Power of Tech." Can you imagine a Repurpose deck with some Power of Tech double resources?! 4. Is VT okay? I think he mentioned slowing down due to illness, and I pray he is well.
Thank you so much! Yea I like the idea of War Room and hope to use it more in the future! Mission Leader + SKilled Investigator is a ton of fun! SO MANY CARDS! Power of Tech would be awesome!! I need that for my Ironman decks! And I believe so, I know the holidays are a slow time for a lot of creators, we have chatted recently and I know he has been battling some stuff here and there, but I believe he is well!
Thank you for the videos! Was a lot of good ones this year. Happy New Year! As for what was best in 2023, well, this is the year I really discovered Marvel Champions. I think I may have bought the core set last year but this year I really started playing it and found out that I really enjoy the game. Been playing through most of the campaigns. Still two missions left in Next Evolution and whole Mojo campaign. So, for me this was a year of discovery. A whole new boardgame with tons of content and resources already existing.
imo, X23, Honey Badger, Confuse Justice, Lock & Load, Float like a Butterfly, Mission Leader, Taunt, Laser Sword, Build Support, Mr Sinister, Super Strength. Aggression was really disappointing this year, only 1 pack, and not a particularly good one at that.
I love these choices!! And totally agree, Lock and Load is a great call for Red, I really like using it to get some the of weapons out that I would maybe not play otherwise!
Nice video! I think my favorite Leadership card is probably Med Lab. So fair, and it really turbocharges some strategies or any Genius alter-ego. Domino is also an interesting back of the pack card for some heroes. Looking forward to 2024!
Good on ya Nelson thanks for always being the nerd playing in the background while I'm gaming. :)
Thank you so much!!

Welcome to the game, it is such a great one!
Two handed is so much fun! There are so many additional synergies to unlock!

Idea for “Best New Thing” for the future you could call it “Best Innovation”.
Oooh I really like that!
I have most of everything, however. My newest hero I played was Thor, and I really wanted to use the minion thing so I played Ultron (using Thors Precon)
I lost, but I did have a great time doing it hahah
Yeaaaa Thor’s precon is not super great, but some new cards have really helped him recently!
