Yes in theory....a 402 is just a 030 over 396 was what my engine builder told me

    What headers are these?

Is it true that all 396 motors are 402 cu in motors? 396 was just a marketing scheme by Chevrolet?

402 were the byproduct of a machining mistake. Fucked up 396 blocks were cut to 4.125, which is .030” over plus one thousandth. 4.094 plus .030” is 4.124”

@@TonaldDrump686 Sounds about right but still wondering, how did Chevrolet decide to use which and why?

@@mark97213 Because they processed so many by the time they figured it out, why waste the money already spent, just call it a "new" engine, and make the money back!!

All badged 396 from 1970-73 were actually 402ci. 1970 the 400 small block was introduced and chevy didn't want a small block being larger than a big block.

WTF are you even talking about? Not even close to a "Volkswagen" carb. Since when do Volkswagens use 4 barrel carbs?
