Whaleback ledge just off the dickey summit, spectacular view of Franconia ridge?

I am happy to hear you huffing and puffing. Those climbs up the rock slabs just about did me in. You are right about not doing the slabs when wet. Going down in the dry would be scary enough for me. The hike down was my favorite part. The views along the ledges were spectacular. It was almost a shame that you have to get beck into the woods. Considering the effort it took on the ascent, I was amazed at the pace at which I accomplished the hike. I did it in less than 4 hours.

I used this video as a guide prior to my first hike on the Welch Dickey Loop. My husband, daughter and I did this today. Your video was beautiful…however, you need to do this again at peak foliage. Bright sunshine, temps in the mid 60’s, and peak foliage. Those mountains were on fire with spectacular colors, it took my breath away!! I’ve lived in New England all my life, but never have I seen such spectacular color--put this hike back on your list for a fall hike. And thanks for the pre-hike guide; this 62-year-old grandma was a little anxious about this hike prior to watching yours. I look forward to your next video and our next hike on a “52 with a view” list. Thanks.

Excellent video! I’m planning on hiking this next summer. Do you have any suggestions for hikes or rock scrambling of similar length?
