    Kakilai, Thanks for making this video. I had exactly the same old ceiling light as yours. Also glad to find another Singaporean who like to "kakilai". Your voices also very inspiring especially with your good command of english. Keep it up. Subscribed.

    for this type of LED ceiling light, would replacing the LED lights be a hassle in the future? because the led panel seems to be attached to the ceiling light base itself, whereas those replacement LED panels are all those magnet type

    • @kakilai
      @kakilai  Před 2 lety +1

      That's a great question! I share the same thoughts when I first did the unboxing. I think it will be a hassle to unscrew the LED from the base plate because the 3-section LED is being secured with a total of 9 screws, if we consider replacing the driver, that is an additional 2 screws (total 11 screws). But once we get past that, you will be able to use the magnetic LED panels. In fact, the same retailer is selling at just $12! Quite a decent deal if you ask me. The link is too long to be posted here but you can just do a quick search on Lazada for "beacon led light panel".

    Hi I live in the UK and I purchased some lights with the same design of your led bulbs but my lights have both failed, I need to buy replacement bulbs bug Amazon can't help me, as this product isn't made in the UK I was wondering if you know of anywhere I can purchase these from

    • @kakilai
      @kakilai  Před rokem +1

      Hi, it is best to seek advice from a local hardware shop in the UK, so that in the event that the light doesn’t work, it’s easy for you to get a replacement from them. I typically do not buy lights from unknown online retailers for safety reasons. In Singapore, retailers are regulated and the products they sell have to meet certain safety standards to protect consumers.

    Thank you so much for the video, i have a doubt, i have a similar model, one that is supposed to change when switching on/off fast the temperature of the light, but it is working the other way, once i turn on/off fast it maintains the light temperature and when i use it as per normal light it changes the temperature every time i left it open for some minutes, do you have a clue on what can be happening? again thank you so much!

    • @kakilai
      @kakilai  Před měsícem +1

      You can either do a full replacement or just unscrew the existing LEDs and replace it with new LEDs that has magnets beneath to easily install onto the original light’s base plate

  • @mamadretro
    @mamadretro Před rokem

    Hi,i was wondering how can the wire goes underneath the plate. Normally the plate cant sat properly.

    • @kakilai
      @kakilai  Před rokem

      Yeap that’s true, you can either just cut a slot on the plate or just install it without any modifications which was what I did. The plate will be warped a little but it doesn’t affect anything

    Could the power supply alone be replaced?
    I have similar led ceiling light for years but it could be light up occasionally. I think my led power supply maybe failed.
    I may try to look for one power supply and replace my existing one.

    • @kakilai
      @kakilai  Před 2 měsíci

      I think you are referring to the LED driver, yes you can find compatible ones and replace it. I did that recently with one of my lights but it wasn’t very economical. The full LED lamp cost ~$26 and the driver alone cost $16. It probably better to just buy the whole set and keep the LED light as a spare incase one burns out

    Your old light has 2 fluorescent, how come? Both on at same time or can each switch on separate? Then use remote control to switch or 2 switches?
    Seems like new LED is only one switch, so cannot save electricity use.

    • @kakilai
      @kakilai  Před 5 měsíci +1

      The old one has 2 lights that can be used independently. It’s single switch so you need to on/off to toggle which light you want to switch on.

    • @pok1pok
      @pok1pok Před 5 měsíci

      @@kakilai wha, your lights all so sophisticated (expensive). Wonder what is the toggle called and whether u can still salvage and reuse (no wonder your old light has another device besides the ballast). Sounds like good idea to save electricity, so can have 2 bulbs, one much brighter than the other, so as to optimise electricity use (reduce wastage).
