      Yeah they really weren't prepared for this. They were just used to men rubber stamping any and all "spending" that they ask for when asking for it. To defend their positions, they have never had to do that. And I'm quite sure after this, they felt that he "disrespected them" which (in their minds) they may misconstrue as domestic violence. This is what happens when you are not forced to think deeply about your beliefs in terms of facts as opposed to feelings.

    Good on you Senator Leyonhjelm, you should also have queried why "domestic violence" studies rarely, and it's rarely reported, the proportion of domestic violence carried out, by women, against children and men. Domestic violence discussions always concentrate on "domestic violence against women" with little if any reporting that in excess of 50% of domestic violence against children is committed by women. The "campaign" should be against "Domestic Violence" overall, not restricted to male actions against women. Political Correctness in full operation here, with "facts" stretched to provide a desired P.C. outcome to the "study". How can this "research" carry any authority, applying for taxpayer funds to further a female agenda.

      Wyatt Family totally agree. Any approach on any given subject that only deals with a part of the problem should be throughly challenged. The exclusion of any significant concern about domestic violence against men and children seems to be widespread and seems to be politically motivated. The callous disregard for large numbers of victims of domestic violence is deeply troubling.

    • @K1llabud
      @K1llabud Před 5 lety +8

      Because men rarely report it, and when they do the woman can just counterclaim and he will be punished anyway. Violence by women against men isnt taken seriously, in spite of the facts.
      "Straus argues that it is more harmful to women to attempt to tackle the problem of domestic abuse without proper strategy based on facts: "a meta-analysis by Stith and colleagues (2004) found that a woman's perpetration of violence was the strongest predictor of her being a victim of partner violence."

    It is great to see the senator pointing out the discrimination against men. When it comes to domestic violence people do not talk about the physiological violence that women commit against men during relationship breakdown and family law disputes. This violence usually results in depression and suicide that is at pandemic levels amongst men into days society. In fact violence, whether domestic or street violence affects men more than women. The problem is our media which is run by feminists don’t want to highlight that because the truth goes against everything they have being saying for the last 5 decades. If we want to make an impact on violence then we need to treat it as a community safety issue rather than a gender safety issue.

    What I wish I heard:
    "It seems to me that your campaign targets a problem that occurs to less than 2% of women, and your method was to prompt the public to address a cause of this violence which the United Nations has deemed to be a very small contributing factor. Among the goals of your campaign, were any of them to reduce partner violence against women, and if so did you only want to reduce it only a little bit, or as much as you could? From the data made available to the public, this campaign appears to be misdirected, inefficient, and/or disingenuous. The only measure of success it seems to have garnered is the acquisition of public wealth and public influence for your organization, and the social engineering for some purpose wholly separate than reducing violence against women my any notable measure. Could you comment on that?"
