The PT5000 has also achieved a Glashütte certification which is arguably better than COSC. If peace of mind is worth a 50% premium to you, by all means the SW200 is the way to go. Personally I can't see paying that much more for the SW200 when the chances are quite high that you're never going to notice a difference. If this were a $500+ watch, then I might think differently.

    Jody, I get that you want to see a Rolex homage with a Swiss movement, but this is after all a Chinese manufactured watch and not a Swiss manufactured watch. If Chinese manufacturing is good enough for the rest of the watch, then it should be good enough for the movement as well. The PT5000 is an excellent 2824 clone and the upgrade to the SW200 costs more than half again more than the version with the PT5000. Resale value of a $200 watch isn't the issue. Your timegrapher proves accuracy isn't the issue. So why promote a version of this watch with a 50% premium for a movement you can't see and will almost certainly never notice any difference? At the $200 price point for the PT5000 version this watch is a smoking hot deal. $300+, not so much.

    If anyone wants a slightly larger sub homage, I recommend the 42mm Invicta, on a jubilee, for around £75 ,, mine runs around +2s a day. (NH35)..
    I use it as my "stunt watch" lol...

    If clomaging a Rolex Sub isn’t a must, the Glycine Combat Sub might be a better choice. Weaker lume and construction aside, the glycine is Swiss Made, has original design and a long heritage, all for about $350 USD from ashford.

    The name is confused. Chronos is the Greek word for time, personified as Father Time; Cronos was the son of Zeus, and generally accepted to be a separate figure.

    I don't know, the price creep is real with this one. Sure, 300 USD is still a relatively good price, but at that budget this clomage should perhaps be also compared to some other watches from the price range, like orients or heck, even a islander diver. The more expensive these homages get, the less interesting they are to me.

    I wouldn't mind that date frame if they ditched the cyclops. The San Martin apparently shortened their end links so they jut less. Is that true of Cronos as well?

  • @sellsidedream8766

    Update after 5 days wearing it. It’s lost only 2 to 3 seconds a day. Amazing performance

  • @soundtrap1812

    The San martin water ghost v3 is the best value sub homage out there! Period. I agree tho all that's needed in them now is a Swiss movement.

    The values on the timegrapher are invisable again. ...please Jody check your last couple of video's on that. You want to see the accuracy, but you can't. All the rest of the review, as always, a joy to watch. Thanks

    reckon the box around the date is an insurance policy so they can show a clear difference if challenged by a copyright owner

    i like that old version of your cronos because of its high polished mid links and it looks more luxurious and elegant compared to cronos L6005.Where can I get that kind of cronos of yours if its still available?

    @findingandvalue Před 3 lety

    the upgrade of the Cronos-logo really looks a lot better.To bad it's just 40mm. I'm a big guy ad buy nothing under 43mm. It just looks like a toy on my wrist.

  • @neilwilson5343
    @neilwilson5343 Před 2 lety +3

    Yes I took your advice and spent more than I wanted to on one of these Cronos watches. It was the biggest mistake I ever made. I paid nearly $400nzd for one that stopped working after just 2 months. Even though Cronos supply a guarantee card (24 month) this guarantee is worthless.
    They refuse to replace my watch and after taking it to a repairer it will cost $200-$300 nzd to repair.
    NEVER EVER BUY FROM CRONOS. They are thieves.

    just wanted to say that I have a pt5000 movement that is on par with my elaborated grade eta.
    as for this watch, it looks like the triangular and rectangular markers are different in dimension than on the real thing. wouldn't matter if it weren't borderline replica territory. I don't want to sound too negative I just wish these companies would try to be a bit more creative.

  • @henryswatches6496

    • @jacc88888
      @jacc88888 Před 3 lety +1

      Maybe consider the the cheaper version with the PT5000 - more accurate specs than the Sellita and I’ve read good things about it. It’s not your run-of-the-mill cheap Chinese clone. I don’t know what their long term reliability is like mind you as they are relatively new but quality is supposed to be excellent.

    Hi Jody, about the white date window rectangular, l’ve just saw a review for a Squale 20 Atmos1545, on PerthWatch channel and it has the same white rectangular for the date window. That’s where they took the inspiration probably. The Squale rectangular is a little bit less apparent however.

    I just took a look at the "pagrne" design store on Ali express and noticed they have a Rolex Daytona homage for sale with an automatic movement for £66. Surely worth a punt!

  • @AlexanderB.
    @AlexanderB. Před 3 lety

    This is a very well made watch, I already have got their SM 300 homage and it's similarly well made. My main issue with this watch is: why would I spend money on a Sellita movement when it comes running at + 12 sec at a considerable beat error. I'd much rather have a Miyota 9015 for 100 $ less if I have to regulate it myself when I want it to run within better specs. But a great review video as always, cheers! 👍
