- The PowrTouch Classic rubber boots will fail over time and cause the electrical terminals to corrode, This video shows how quick and simple it is to replace these rubber sleeves.
The kit I used in this video is :

Just found this video and within 2 minutes my mover is working again, thank you
Thanks Trudgians...got my new (to me) caravan back to the storage site and halfway through parking, one side motor mover stopped working! After watching this video I cleaned up the terminals and bingo! Movement!
Wow, top tip worked a treat, less than 5 minutes work and the mover is working again.
Thank you very much. My wife just walk in and handed me a boot she found under the caravan, the other one is about to fall off too. Now I just need to find replacement boots in New Zealand.
Yes when i did this years lubing of the moving points on our powertouch mover 2 years old ( powertouch recommend lubing once a year ) i noticed that the plastic side covers wear fouling on the motor rubbers that much the rubbers had been deformed & one had a hole in . Rang powertouch and explained what was happening and they said they had had a few wear either the rubber boot or side cover had been distorted. They didn't quibble at all and sent me two new rubbers and two new side covers and screws . I have now modified the side covers by cutting 10mm out of the back so it can no longer foul the rubbers. The rubbers on our evolution mover are a lot more substantial than yours & have probably be upgraded for reliability.
Brilliant tip Dan thank you very much, my movers were playing up then I watched this video went and cleaned the connections and bingo movers working again 😀
Thank you so much for this video. I managed to get the mover working again. Brilliant and informative channel
Really interesting ... First time caravaner and by the time we had towed the caravan home there was only one wheel turning even though the caravan was moving perfectly at the caravan dealership. I will get underneath tomorrow and get things cleaned up and hopefully we will have two movable wheels ... will keep you posted
Well done tom 👍 top job!!
I have a Power touch. Considering it's a piece of equipment for use in all weather's it's not very water proof. My mover has had the engineer out a couple of times now. One was when the motor was full of water and the whole of the insides had rusted and the other ther motor had failed. Now it's out of warrenty it sticks occasionally. A slight tap makes it work again.
Spooky. I have just had to do exactly the same job (although the unit had to go back to Reich who cleaned up the inside). After that I used ACF-50 on the connectors to try and stop the corrosion. My movers were coming up for 6 years old so this is a worthwhile job, thanks for posting!
Very useful. I'll go and check my rubber boots now.
Hi
Many thanks very helpful. Mine has motor turning but part that connects to tyres is not turning.
Thanks very much for this for this, just what my problem was, on a new to us 2nd hand caravan, however no rubber at all on mine! Our is a slightly newer mover unit than yours, am going to find a couple of new rubbers from somewhere, not had the nerve to check the other side yet.
Good one Tom,wonder if you could have put them rubbers in hot water, maybe easier to get on then ?
Have you ever had to replace the bearings on the rollers one side on my caravan has failed I’m looking for ideas
I have a problem where one motor is in continuous drive but the other is fine could it be the terminals
To work on the blind side inside terminal use a mirror. That way you can work from the opposite side in comfort!
Thank you guys for that Gator information, but my problem is:- when the mover is engaged and often going up or down the hill disengages, and pops off the tyre. frightening the first time it happened & very dangerous .luckily I got to the handbrake quick enough. any suggestions. Thanks! Steve B
