One thing I never realized I missed until now about wrestling from the 2000s are all the flashes from the cameras in the audience. Really makes a finisher off the top feel more special to me
100%. It just added so much to the product and really made you feel the most important moments. It just felt like performers back then had complete control of a crowd in a way that just isn't possible anymore
One thing I noticed from all of these splashes….he was ALWAYS 100% accurate with the landings. Didn’t matter how close or far away his opponents were from the turnbuckle. Amazing consistency.

Yeah, this is a master class in getting your own finisher over. Not only is it flashy and shows off the athleticism but also how painful it is by showing it hurts you just as much as your opponent.
Damn, RVD was amazing and his version of the frog splash was just magic. The insane height, the unnecessarily hard impact, the realistic oversell of injuring himself to hit it. Proof that perfect form is sometimes not needed.

Lot of people have said RVD and Eddie Guerrero have the best frogsplashes, which I definetely agree on. Hiroshi Tanahashi deserves to be mentioned in that top group too. The way he brilliantly does the High Fly Flow, rarely gets spoken about.
Agreed! The slight bend Tanahashi does coming down makes it look so impactful as well. Plus it doesn't hurt that the guy's built like a tank as well lol

When I found out these moves were "fake," I was MORE impressed, not less. Any two idiots can tear each other apart in a ring. It takes talent and skill to perform such a brutal-looking pageantry without anyone getting hurt. It's a DANCE, not a fight!
