  • DJI M600 + Ronin MX First Test Flight - no optical or post stabilisation. GH4 with 12-35mm f2.8 lens Impulz GH4 CND - Rec.709 & Ascend - Ochre look applied.
Thoughts: Stock mirrorless settings from DJI which are of higher values then auto tune values performed better, but not perfect. I will try with Olympus 12mm f2.0 prime lens with the same stock settings, assuming DJI have tested with their GH4+12mm Z15 configuration combo . The 12mm lens is approx 200g lighter then 12-35mm lens and the settings will perform better.

Looks like yaw wasnt balanced properly? And man, look at that horizon. damn, makes me very skeptical about the mx sitting next to my desk.

Its balanced, but the PID settings needs to be tuned further.

Spreading Wings what about the horizon?

+Maximilian Raschke horizon is the problem. Sent the video to Dji to analyse . Every other problem can be fixed by tweaking , not the horizon. The MX has to gather and process data from the A3 quick enough.

15 minutes flight time is really long. I don't see the benefit in 5 minutes more for me. But thats an individual thing. If you need it, theres surely a reason.
You can't travel with any of those LiPos. It's the sum of watt hours that you are binging on a flight and not the wattage of a single Lipo. 160Ah in total - thats it! A joke! IATA kills our job. :( I bulit my copters with higher payloads and lower payloads - just as optimized as I need it. DJI really missed the target - they are putting the stress on the wrong points. Two seperated battery circuts would have been sufficient. 6 add weight... and so on... There are some more things that are a bit away from the need of a pro user. Sorry...

wrong! below 100wh , one can carry upto 7kg as carry in, therefore i can carry two sets of batteries easily and my camera operator can carry another set of two. Big tattu lipos need to be shipped out by road prior to a job which is the biggest pain in the industry at this moment. 6 DJI batteries weighs 3.5 KG and at 15kg MTOW , you can fly for 12-15min, whereas two Tattu 16000mah is 4kg and you can fly almost the same amount of time, the difference is tattu is $200 cheaper but comes with travel restrictions. Yes, its a personal thing, whichever works your requirement. M600 is not the best out there, but its not the bad, at least not ripping customers in like of Alta, Neo and others.

Ha... you are right there. DJI managed to keep the Wh below 100Wh per battery. So they comply with the IATA rules... That is kinda smart. But still... the Ronin MX shows a weak performance.

with a few firmware upgrade, it will be better. every handheld gimbal in the market is a pain to get it working under a UAV. It took me a week to tune the Movi M5.

Ha! I can't believe it! Look at the horizon - If DJI would have managed it, it would have been a revolution. But this is simply worse than what we've ever seen. I predict on top of that that the M600 will not be selling very good. Imagine - for one fully loaded flight in maybe 18 minutes you need 800.-$ worth of batteries?!? Ha! thats a joke! I make up to 15 flights a day with my 5000mah 40c 6s lipos. (Okay - I only fly 12 Minutes) but imagine what amount of money in batteries I would have to carry around. No thanks DJI - wrong concept. Professional pilots have settled on way better systems some time ago.

M600 is a simplified system. My x8 flies for 15 min based on same max take off weight like the m600 , but m600 flies for extra 5 min. I cannot travel with 16000mah batteries, but I can with tb47s batteries, horizon drift has nothing to do with m600, it's a gimbal thing .
