Hi mate, can you actually list the parts for the retractable setup please? I've just got my hands on an m680 and want to set this up.
Awesome work
Thanks for including your gimbal settings. I'm using it as starting point for carrying a7sii on M5 and s1000 and seems about right.
Been here. Cheers from Mornington
Such a wonder of the world. Spectacular views - would visit there again!
Not quite. Obviously still doing the same thing. Just not as bad. I'd do an advanced imu calibration. Especially if its nevr been done
I tested your ronin settings today with GH5s + 12mm f2.0 and finally everything worked as it should. You are great! thank you!
Cute!
Hi
You should check out the Eclipse Rovers. eclipserover.com
can you try flying bit higher where the winds start to pick up... this is 20m of the ground. bring it to 50-100m, does it start to shake?
footage was sped up by 500 %, did you do any other changes like stabilize the video? how about a test at regular speed of drone where you do not need to speed it up later in edit...
hi ... i have same setup with m600pro and sony a7r2... also i find wind is killing the ronin mx and shaking is terrible no matter of software adjustments... i added foam insert in between the gimbal mount and frame and that removed propeller and tiny vibrations, however i still experience problems when there is any wind ... it just seem pan cannot stay in place ... i use zeiss 35mm lens, i will try to make it as heavy as possible for my next test, by adding extra battery grip, polarizer and nd iflters to the lens, and extra ronin battery attached to the back, as well as using the lens suport on ronin and perhaps some counter weights mounted at back of camera.... if in the menatime you got any new tips please share...
Nice!! Is it pro res or raw?
Pau Trescatorce raw
Looks over sharpened to me but other than that looks fine but what did you encode this footage at it looks a bit low in bit rate
Dawson Boyle I haven’t applied any sharpening - it’s probably the camera . Encoded to h.264 for CZcams
Spreading Wings Films and Store ohh ok that makes sense, if you shoot h264/h265 or Prores sharpening is added unless you turn it too -3 it is unnoticeable and looks cleaner
Any issue fpv? I've got phantom 2 with h3.3d but just got hero 4 black and my fpv goes out in 30sec untill I push button GoPro and it comes back
Come on Kinefinity ... We all want that juicy camera 😡
Jame's what's wrong?
+Spreading Wings Films and Store Plz excuse my frustration 😅 I've been waiting to purchase the "Kinefinity Terra 6K". Months after months of waiting & I still got nothing.
Jame's really ? Terra6K being shipping for quite some time now. There is someone who is selling his as he is moving to red .
loose the folding props balance good qual carbon and mount the gimbal under the harmonic stioll point in the center of the machine stick the batteries on top. this will make best of the system potential vibration damping and get rid of the occasional vibes in the footage.
Hey whats happening? So just out of curiosity why is the base ISO 500. is it bad to use a lower ISO with Cinema DNG and apple pro res? I read a article about the D-log locking at 500 ISO. Do the cinema DNG and apple prores lock at 500 as well?
The last firmware have set the ISO to 500, i am not sure the reason, but i am assuming it is the sensor's base ISO.
F16? Yikes to start with diffraction on m43 20mp sensor should redo test at F5.6 maximum also hard to tell with CZcams compression going on . What were your findings on your screen? Thanks
Steven Kornreich : even with ND8, I had to go f16 to get the proper exposure while keeping the ISO at base, shutter at 1/50 cinema standard as we don't have 1/48s and 25fps pal.
yeah - image quality is good - they had me at SSD !!!
How did you perform the IMU calibration of the M600. Did you have to tilt the matrice on its arms? I have an Inspire 1 and all you have to do us place it on a flat leveled surface. But the Picture I got when trying to calibrate the M600 was unusual to me, the picture showed the Matrice on a tilt position resting on one of its arms. I that correct? thank for your help.
Any low light samples? The KineMAX 6K looked pretty nice (ish), I was wondering how this stacks up against the KineMAX and the Raven and the a7sii.
what lens?
Ezbz Pop Zeiss 15mm and 35mm
i think this is my next camera,
such an awesome camera
Thanks for sharing the footage! I too am considering the Terra 5K as my next camera and the noise in the shadows concerns me. Is there anyway you can upload the same footage without the VisionColor LUT? Maybe just the standard rec.709 LUT?
I will try uploading the log footage . Can you highlight the timeline where you see the most noise ? The noise is mostly due to the LUT.
Spreading Wings the noise is constant in the shadows of the large center rock formation. Even just a 10 sec sample of the original log footage would be most appreciated.
do you see more during the slow motion segment or prior to the normal 24fps segment? The scenes were shot in two camera resolution modes.
Spreading Wings the slow motion footage around 00:50 shows the shadow noise in the center rock when viewed in 4k
Here it is: czcams.com/video/nBLL6gRxRPc/video.html OR vimeo.com/198807946
I have a similar issue with the regular ronin.
Looks like a scene out of Predator.
the wide is amazing. the colours are beautiful - pity about the terrible noise in the shadows. watched at 2160p
the noise is probably my editing fault and the Ocre look or the higher fps which seems to compromise shadows and gives importance to highlights. Native ISO is 800
are you able to record log or raw while using a lut in your evf or monitor while you shoot? i find that helps me shooting in log so i only have to bring down instead of raising - 800 native iso?
yes , the Terra have option to load LUTs,therefore a monitor like blackmagic video assist who doesn't have LUT preview of its own, can be used to monitor. The final footage is always have KineLOG baked.
i have been using the atomos inferno - which has built in HDR - helpful shooting Log - i hope the inferno will work with the Kine
simon gentry you can use the hdmi out to view in your inferno monitor
Nice shots. Terra - so much noise in shadows :( Thanks for sharing
Ma Za it's not the Terra- it's the ocre look
Was it the outfilter parameter you changed for vibration? Im flying a Red Epic on MX with M600 and can't get rid of high freq vibro even at very calm weather. The stabilization is great but that high frequency vibration spoils the whole footage. Would like to know if the outfilter was the main parameter that helped you get rid of those vibros. Thanks (and nice test videos btw ;)
I added 2 on each axis and then if the vibration continues, you should increase the fitter value.
Any movement going forward seems to be ok because the camera is pretty heavy my outfilter values are 8-10-8 but for some reason when I fly my m600 backwards and ronin mx looking forward the vibro is still incase(like a mini earthquake) will have to fine tune and figure out which axis's motor is causing it.Thx for your help n reply.
put a foam insert in between the frame and gimbal mount, it does wonders, you have propeller vibration...
@@IamIvanStan Do you know how to fix the propeller vibration directly?
"...After fight with the MX" What did you mean? Had a problems with GH4? Or some other general problems with DJI...?
So How did you landing ?
Hi, We have now tested GH4 and A7s. No smooth footage yet. Any tips or help please? We are thinking the damping needs modifying or the camera's are too light? Many thanks
this footage not smooth either..
which lens? I get stable footage with pana 12-35mm f2 lens instead of olympus 12mm prime.
treier tibrtty : As i mentioned, its not stable, check the third and fourth test where i progressively fixed the issue.
No sure if you reply to comments. but I have recnetly noticed with my gimbal is sometimes rolls on a certain angle when I have it in tilt mode. And when in post production I have to recrop the video so it looks leveld. Any idea why this is happening?
try increasing the power of the roll axis .. that should help.
Spreading Wings Cheers mate. I havent acturally connected my moza to a computer yet. So I dont know how I would go
Did you ever get the best down or did you have to "crash' land?
Taken down safely
landed safely :)
Hello. I assume you're getting your live video feed from the GH4 to your tablet. Can you tell me if you're just using the hdmi out from the camera to the lightbridge transmitter on the M600? Also, are you able to remote zoom/focus the GH4? Thanks so much!
No remote zoom and focus from Dji . Yes, live feed from both camera using the m600 built in lb2 air unit , now I am using srw-60 module for wireless hdmi feed
Ok. Thanks for the info. What's the advantage of the srw-60 if you're using LB2? Curious is all.
+ProSky Studio, LLC to have wireless connection between camera and lb2 air unit. Check Dji website for more info
Great video THANKYOU! Quick question did you land at 20.8 under load? Or was it reading 20.8 after land? Thanks!
How big is your car? Relative to the scale? you have already seen my RC buggy
It's 1/5th scale electric King motor Baja converted and modified
Nice, my Car do you find on Instagram/CZcams: Burkhalter Media
Could you tell me what your custom settings are? I have same setup but using A7s II. The ronin shakes to much in small turbulence. If i try to put stiffness past 25 (Which i need to do in order to stop shaking?) The ronin Vibrates too much. What setting should i use to get the authentic 3 axis gimbal behavior. Ronin is acting like a crappy gimbal.
I cannot post the snapshot here. Are you on our ronin mx owners Facebook group? To start with, try the Dji mirror less or the dslr profile. Drop me an email at info@spreadingwings.com.au
Hi guys, having similar trouble with he same set up. I'd really really appreciate it, if you could please help me resolve it too.
which one do you think could be better moza lite professional or DJI ronin mx?
both are good.. if you want to fly the gimbal, then MX
+Spreading do you know if there are a minimal weight for dji ronin mx?
+Gabriel Sanchez check Dji website for more information
Why would you shoot in LOG and convert to REC709 then apply a LUT to 709? Whilst I can imagine your output being 709 (H264), but if you shoot in LOG your editing will be much easier wiht a transcode to Apple ProRes422 and applying a LOG LUT. If you were editing H264 (or similar) you would apply a Rec709 LUT
Many reasons- a. Dji log to rec709 or sRGB , there are only two options. b. It's a color space for your hdtv, cinema screen and my editing monitor, c . You have a choice to apply look on a rec709 convert , rather then applying the look on a log and then color correct it.
How is the IMU Calibration done? Did you already fly the critical pattern I mentioned?
Not yet, we are having windy days here.. 60km/hr gusts.. Might try this Sunday. ImU calibration is near compass calibration in the gopapp
Is it me or does the camera seems to vibrate a little too much? Its pretty noticeable
Yes , on this test as I powered by the stiffness and strength to check the impact . Check the second test video which shows solved vibration issues
It's truely better. But you didn't fly movements that provoke the problem. Horizon drift mostly occures when you fly sideways, gaining altitude with an additional yaw input. (In short: fly sideways to the right, gain alt, pan left with yaw and pan down a little). That is the typical POI movement. Show me that - if the Ronin MX manages to keep the horizon level: 1 million thumbs up! ☺️👍🏽
Ok, let the wind settle down and I will give it a shot
here it is : czcams.com/video/CGNsRE8ru10/video.html
How did you get the matrice so soon? did you order directly from dji? How did you fix the jello and vibration? I saw your first video, that had me worried since I've placed my order.
I own Dji dealership :) check my second and third test video- jello and vibrations are gone, on the third test, you will also find that drifts are much improved
This is not an "base invert position" i think. The error is to have set de camera base invert mode on enabled. I think this mode must be enabled when the base plate si inverted (not necessary for upright position), that's to say when the base plate is close to the battery. Look at the manual p 24. Sorry for my english if you don't undertsand ;) If you want to be on upright position, you have to invert the base plate for the camera to capture footages upright, and then, don't forget to enable invert mode, or to leave the camera on the wrong side (like you did), but without setting the base invert mode. Here, your base is not inverted, you only turned the gimbal into upright mode. That is how i understood the manual. I don't have the MX. Let me know if it worked fine
Yes, you are right. For now manual adjustments and invert mode must be turned off. Dji is working on the firmware bug.
You are 100% correct. take off the bottom bars and attach them to the top upside down but still facing the same forward direction. Then balance and turn on system and app and check off inverted mode
Visuals AH I don't believe you can just raise the plate to the top as is and then attach a camera up side down beneath it without the plate also being inverted
Can you please show me an example or image of this. The only way is if the camera was mounted upside down in the first place before inverting will it ever be right side up when inverted.
15 minutes flight time is really long. I don't see the benefit in 5 minutes more for me. But thats an individual thing. If you need it, theres surely a reason. You can't travel with any of those LiPos. It's the sum of watt hours that you are binging on a flight and not the wattage of a single Lipo. 160Ah in total - thats it! A joke! IATA kills our job. :( I bulit my copters with higher payloads and lower payloads - just as optimized as I need it. DJI really missed the target - they are putting the stress on the wrong points. Two seperated battery circuts would have been sufficient. 6 add weight... and so on... There are some more things that are a bit away from the need of a pro user. Sorry...
wrong! below 100wh , one can carry upto 7kg as carry in, therefore i can carry two sets of batteries easily and my camera operator can carry another set of two. Big tattu lipos need to be shipped out by road prior to a job which is the biggest pain in the industry at this moment. 6 DJI batteries weighs 3.5 KG and at 15kg MTOW , you can fly for 12-15min, whereas two Tattu 16000mah is 4kg and you can fly almost the same amount of time, the difference is tattu is $200 cheaper but comes with travel restrictions. Yes, its a personal thing, whichever works your requirement. M600 is not the best out there, but its not the bad, at least not ripping customers in like of Alta, Neo and others.
Ha... you are right there. DJI managed to keep the Wh below 100Wh per battery. So they comply with the IATA rules... That is kinda smart. But still... the Ronin MX shows a weak performance.
with a few firmware upgrade, it will be better. every handheld gimbal in the market is a pain to get it working under a UAV. It took me a week to tune the Movi M5.
Ha! I can't believe it! Look at the horizon - If DJI would have managed it, it would have been a revolution. But this is simply worse than what we've ever seen. I predict on top of that that the M600 will not be selling very good. Imagine - for one fully loaded flight in maybe 18 minutes you need 800.-$ worth of batteries?!? Ha! thats a joke! I make up to 15 flights a day with my 5000mah 40c 6s lipos. (Okay - I only fly 12 Minutes) but imagine what amount of money in batteries I would have to carry around. No thanks DJI - wrong concept. Professional pilots have settled on way better systems some time ago.
M600 is a simplified system. My x8 flies for 15 min based on same max take off weight like the m600 , but m600 flies for extra 5 min. I cannot travel with 16000mah batteries, but I can with tb47s batteries, horizon drift has nothing to do with m600, it's a gimbal thing .
