Violet Evergarden, Fern from Sousou no Frieren, Ononoki Yotsugi from the Bakemonogatari series are all different types of Kuudere. They are the 😐waifus.
They have emotions and feel them about just as much as a non-dere character does but Its just they cant really emote well and possibly bit spacey. They could be happy to the point of happy tears but unless you are hawkeyed enough to notice the 0.00001% of a smile she just did you wouldnt know. That said they need to parody this: kuudere because of bad botoks. She has so happy and wants to confess to senpai but cant feel her face.
i feel like the concept of yandere was misrepresented here, a yandere doesn't want to kill you, they will want to kill other people if they jeopardize the chance of having a relationship with you. majority of the violence is inflicted on other people, if they do violence to you then that tends to be limited to manipulative ways to try and keep you in the relationship or under their control.
Even Yuno, the telltale example, didn't really want to kill her love interest. It just so happened that the situation that she was involved in had the inevitable conclusion of either of them having to die.
Indeed, I assume the definition of yandere was confused with the one of yangire. Yangire are sweet with violent tendencies against anyone, even loved ones. So you could get murdered by a yangire girlfriend, but yandere would never, you could still lose a few limbs though.
For the sake of being complete, the Yan-dere wiki lists 5 general categories based on common traits of the trope: 1) Manipulative - Sets things up so that their love interest would always want to be with them 2) Isolating - Prevents their love interest from interacting with others at all 3) Submissive - Will do anything (even be self-destructive) for their love interest 4) Eliminating - Will attack rivals (or even the love interest) 5) Delusional - Has made up a delusion to convince themself that their love is reciprocated. There are definitely Yanderes that would cause direct harm to their love interest under reasoning like "if I can't have you, no one can", but I nonetheless agree that Yanderes have been misrepresented here, because the trope is also more than just "stab-stab-stab", and we can't simplify the entire trope into just that one category.
from what I know, yandere has nothing to do with murdering you (as long as you reciprocate). they will however be controlling and mentally unstable when it comes to friends of their love interest, possibly leading to murder if the yandere has the means to.

though yottadere and yoidere are similar, they are not the same. A yoidere's defining characteristic is that they are calm and collected normally, but outgoing and cheerful when drunk. Yottaderes, in opposition, are defined by the fact that they are nearly always drunk. you can, in fact, be both. you can also be a yoigire, which is the same as a yoidere, but a violent and angry drunk.
@tectonicFloridaman a yangire is a yandere except the difference is that a yangire's killings aren't motivated by love while a yandere is motivated by love
Technically, Tsundere's don't refere to hard women with a soft exterior but it describes a character development: From Tsun Tsun to Dere Dere. This obviously is not how it evolved; but this change started really early, at least before 2004. Personally, I like this deredere dato naru tsuntsun (A tsuntsun who beccomes deredere, I think, blame my japanese) rather than a straight up tsundere.
For anyone interested in comparison, TV Tropes also offers an alternative explanation: Instead of being necessarily a development from "tsun tsun" to "dere dere", they instead define the trope as being a character with a "Tsun" side and a "Dere" side. This leads to a much broader list of characters qualifying for the trope, because it allows the direction to be reversed. A character who is usually "Tsun" could become "Dere" when they open up to others, a character who is usually "Dere" can become "Tsun" when embarrassed or angry, and if we go by the system used by TV Tropes, these would both be considered Tsundere characters.

Yanderes are not automatically killers, they are very complex and nuanced. There are several “levels” of Yanderes if you will. Committing crimes (like Murder etc.) are basically the “last level” and most extreme version of Yandere. It would more accurate to say Yandere are very obsessive, possessive and/or jealous. The extent of their obsessiveness increases which each “level”
Like the micro prefix means a millionth (10^-6) and kilo means a thousand (10^3), yotta means 10^24. So my interpretation is that a yottadere is a lover who's just a lot to handle
There's something to be said about Yandere's that I don't think was explained properly in the video (I could be wrong about this. but). Usually why they would kill the one they love is because that person was paying more attention to someone else or was cheating on them (though braking a promise to them is another strong reason). Another thing is that do to there obsession they tend to be very devoted unless given a good enough reason not to be (though there obsession will still remain). There's also a detail about hinata that's not too often noticed. She was partly a Yandere but that side of her was abandoned by the creator of the series (in an episode hinata once told sakura that she would accept naruto being with her so long as she makes naruto happy. Though also warned her (or said it in her own mind) that she would kill/hurt her if she mistreated naruto (hinata mostlikely didn't find out that sakura has been doing that). And it is cannonically known that hinata has been stalking naruto (though it's very likely only hinata knows). The only reason she can't be fully considered a Yandere is certain aspects of her personality, in particular her shyness holds back her inner Yandere). coincidently Yandere is my favorite type of dere, (for the most part) you just need to give them attention (this will at least appease them) and try to make compromises with them (stuff like getting them to not mess with your friends and family) while not being a cheater (it's just a basic decency of romantic relationships. The only difference with a Yandere is that they will probably kill you if they find out you did, that and they tend to be more willing to be reasoned with if they know they can trust you) the only real downsides are for people who are in a relationship with someone else and those who aren't committed to romantic relationships (not to mention certain types of yandere's are worse to deal with than others. Some are controlling. Some are sadistic. Some are manipulative. Those 3 are ones you can safely say it's certainly not a good choice to be with, though some aren't super violent because they have scary good social skills that they use to peacefully do what is needed to be in a relationship with the one they love)
Part of me is disappointed that "Himedere" was never mentioned. Granted, it's a subset of Tsun, but the regal presence and rich girl attitude are noteworthy additions
Yanderes are honestly wife material and relationship goals and im willing to die on that hill. I wish i had a yandere gf. People who say yanderes are bad because they are too possesive or theyre too forward or are manipulative or blah blah blah just have commitment issues.
@@totallynotdio1311 An overly obsessive partner is not healthy for relationships at all, especially if it's to the point that they're willing to resort to violence. Committing because you both love each other is way different than committing because one is absolutely obsessed with the other and one is forced to commit because they'd be at risk of harming themselves and other people if they don't.
Dandere or kuudere + yottadere could be a great mix, you know, reserved or shy normally but when they already drinked they, like, transform into a extroverted person

Marisa: Where is the dere?
Reimu: There isn't any.
Sometimes they just plain hate you.
I just really love everything about this.
@@Pomni740 I never said he was funny.
i love how you smuggle frieren in every video
Perfect timing, teach!! I was just wondering about this topic
Such an amazing explanation
I knew all this already...but still
6:14 Seeing someone say "Coomdere" made me want to scream.
That being said... genuinely really good pun, well done.
Why is this a genuine detailed discussion ?😭
I don't know what I was expecting anyways. 😂
Great, we had four deres before, now it looks like a jojo stand cry.
"DERE RE RE RE RE RE"
(Or a one piece laugh)
Professor Lando needs to release a correction video for the yandere slander here.
Please bring principal puppet back 🙏🙏🙏
R.I.P Blake
Yanderes are just really crazy posessive derederes
Say no and she becomes a Murdere

The ending acting segments made me laugh
WHY DID I GET AN 11 MINUTE AND 28 SECOND, UNSKIPPABLE AD FOR THIS VIDEO
" the sussy baka" yup that was my thoughts
my favorite dere is the landere
Kuudere is supreme. The moment when a kuudere finally shows their feelings is sweet release
Somebody needs to make a Pokémon style game with the dere types.
Deremon would be a “smashing” success.
thats it
this is going in my history or internet compilation
He’s back
He's so back
There's something to be said about Yandere's that I don't think was explained properly in the video (I could be wrong about this.
You know when he's a good professor when none of the words he says are boring.
This will prove most valuable to my prep time.
Ik this is off topic but can we just aprieciate profussy's art skill for a second
Watching this instead of studying for my algebra final. I'm pretty sure the knowledge will carry over somehow
The only dere i care for is my love, my life…Derek
I found it hilarious when you compared deres to chips😂😂😂
I have been waiting for this cause there is way more than just the tsun-dere
Surprised M-dere was not accompanied by its perfect mate, the S-dere, exemplified in Nagatoro

Dont start that

Informative
Part of me is disappointed that "Himedere" was never mentioned. Granted, it's a subset of Tsun, but the regal presence and rich girl attitude are noteworthy additions
This channel is hilarious
As a feller who doesn't like anime, i must consume such knowledge!
Not Bussypounder 69 😭😭😭
When he was talking about the masodere, I immediately thought about Darkness from konosuba. Then he said himself and I immediately lost my shit 😂😂😂
4:25 Nooo dude stop bringing that memory back please.
Yanderes are honestly wife material and relationship goals and im willing to die on that hill. I wish i had a yandere gf. People who say yanderes are bad because they are too possesive or theyre too forward or are manipulative or blah blah blah just have commitment issues.
Until she cuts your d*** off for thinking that you're are, or gonna, cheat on her...
Agreed lol

@@totallynotdio1311 An overly obsessive partner is not healthy for relationships at all, especially if it's to the point that they're willing to resort to violence. Committing because you both love each other is way different than committing because one is absolutely obsessed with the other and one is forced to commit because they'd be at risk of harming themselves and other people if they don't.
So that one-eyed flavorless potato chip from Kakegurui which unfortunately showed up in Cannonbusters as some isekai Netflix spoof is yandere.
Dandere or kuudere + yottadere could be a great mix, you know, reserved or shy normally but when they already drinked they, like, transform into a extroverted person
Man it was easier without this knowledge
