As a motorcycle mechanic myself I can see that Ramdan and his people did the best they can with what they have available. A true hero with a fantastic positive attitude! 🙏🏼 En weer doorrrrr....
It is interesting how we...with so much....and yet here this guy says sure...no problem.
In fact, they did a really good job ! Often the less you have, the more ingenuity and imagination you develop and try to find a solution to the various problems. This is something that relates a little bit to all situations and in all countries.
PS: It is easy to replace a broken part with a new factory replacement part. But it's when you don't have those things that you see the skill of a mechanic.
This is a true mechanic, making and fixing things not only repace with factory ones.
Great attitude & resourcefulness 💖👍💖
All about the adventure 🤠 off road engineering fixes on point 👍 solutions abound ,hearty souls persevere....😸💪🙏✌️☝️☯️
I love how a man working out of a shed has such pride in his work. What a great team.
100%
AFRICA! You have to have been to know what I mean, but throughout the continent. That’s how it is done! 💪👍
yeah that guy made a legend job! you want that kind of mechanic on any team
In Africa blacksmiths are specialized in mechanics, while shamans are in charge for electronics.
Electronic is kinda spiritual matter.
Fiberglass? Alaska is being cleverly cared for! I love this, so interesting. I'd be drinking tea and watching too.
Ramdan did not say what we hear in western countries:
- Do you have an appointment?
- Let me look at my busy schedule
- Best I can do is next week
- It is going to cost you $2500 because you have no choice in the middle of nowhere huh!
- There is no warranty on the repairs and thus no refunds
Amazing lad and skills. The guys fixed the gear handle and then tried to fix everything they saw was to be mended and preventing further issues.
Welcome to Morocco Welcome to Africa
I went to National Tyres to ask if they had my size tyres in stock and how much it would be.They said I would need an appointment for them to look.I told them to forget it.Never been back
Oui mais en même temps il fait pas 35 h00 , il gueule pas si il finit plus tard , et puis il n'y a pas de facture . Faut tout remettre dans le contexte .
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ye, because they have nothing else to do, lmao. Get real.
@@oBCHANo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ramdan is a local hero, we should run a gofundme for him to get him more equipment for his workshop.
Go on then, do it.
That mechanic is awesome, works with what he has and can fab anything needed. Love his positive attitude.
Je ben bescherm, Dank God 🌅🌞😇
He/they are brilliant mechanics and real engineers. I was in construction for over 50 years and these men earned my respect and admiration.
Wonderful episode! Wonderful craftsman! 🙌🙌🙌🥂
prolly better then original....imho....
Its morroco all peole are like this
Noraly : My airbox is damaged ,need to order a new one
Ramdan : Hold my Moroccan tea cup
😂 yeah no problem 10 mins
I followed the repairs,, metal working, to paint,, and then the air box repair glass fiber mat, polyester resin, gel coat, micro balloons,,, and then paint to finish sealing and make it pretty. I do not know the plastic Honda uses,, most polyester resins should be compatible. If it lasts the week of temps and vibrations, it will last as long as the motorcycle. That was not a temp patch,,, that was an expertly thought out and skillful permanent solution. My compliments to your mechanics.
Agree! That was an expert repair job.
💝👏
What a joy! A ~real~ mechanic, rather than an exchanger of spareparts. So rare these days, especially here in Europe where everyone has forgotten that you can actually fix shit, rather than replacing it. Morocco has it all. :) Great episode.
More like an engineer than a mechanic.
The moment you met Ramdan he showed so much confidence that he just can fix anything. It is clear that he is used to fix things from scratch, First with the chain guard, which shows his skills. So, Noraly, when you discovered the holes in your airbox (while I was playing the video) I said to myself. Ramdan can fix it. And, yes he did. Guys like Ramdan can just fix almost anything. He had the proper training and knows what he is doing. What a guy to meet.
He and his dad, these two are two magnificient fixer-uppers. ;) "No Problem" - I like that attitude in problem solving.
He's the kind of guy... You send him to a desert island and he build a shopping center 😊
Totally agree on Ramdan 🙂
this guy ramdan learn his craft from scratsh he can fix anything because he is in remote area not in the big citys im morocan he did a wonderful job
The fiberglass mount will last longer than the new airbox
Ramdan is a true craftsman and a gentleman, the world needs more people like him.
Oro supuesto lo necesitamos más que nunca

yeah he was speaking tamazight with his father in the video so that's 4

Yes in morroco all problems it's ok no problems hhhh
Comeback in 10mn
In Nederlands: you break the chain guard .the mechanic : "i need to replace the whole motorbike " 😂
@@ajesusisnotgod9946 plus 1500 euro labour
I have to admire the mechanics, and their use of CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) 😃
Hahaha CAD
no need for CATIA
It will probably last longer than the plastic Honda version too.
Best comment I've seen for weeks 🤣 But seriously, though, this chain guard is probably much better than the plastic junk that came with the bike.
That is really cool David!! LOL!!😀
from my own experience, Moroccan mechanisms always find the right solutions to face any kind of problem. And it's great to show them at work, and simply understand your needs, always with humility. great country.
meanwhile in Europe people would need to wait few days for a free spot, and many car mechanics would refuse work on cheap bikes/cars..
I could just Hug Ramadan, what an incredible young man. This video makes me want to go to Morrocco.
Au plaisir au Maroc le Maroc c'est grand
Before Noraly got to Ramdan, big shoutout to the guy who drew her a map to reach him, it’s the Moroccan way : “if I don’t know how to fix your problem, I know someone who will” and we’ve seen that before when one gentleman in the northern city went out of his way to show her where that little motel was.
As a Moroccan it warms my heart to see my countrymen do the right thing and beyond each time.
Thank you Noraly for bringing me my Morocco to my Pennsylvania home.
Peace and Love.
It's the truth 💪🏻

Having grown in the Canary Islands, so close to Morocco, and it had to be a Dutch woman the one that came down and changed my whole perspective for this absolutely beautiful and charming country full of great, friendly and courteous people. I am in love with the country and has now been officially included in the list places I want to visit some day! Ramdan is the man, by the way.

Although many comments focus on how good the mechanics are, what I admire most is how kind they are. I miss my early days in my home country
It really amazing how Ramdan is fixing your bike. I think the airbox now is better and more solid than a new one. They even painted the fixed airbox too!!!. Great job Ramdan!
The good 'ole fiberglass repair! Ramdan and his crew are total gems, diamond in the ruff, etc. That seemingly minor repair will last a long time, similar technique used in repairing fiberglass holes in boats. Gotta love human hospitality and ingenuity anywhere in the world.
Even on aircrafts for that manner
@@AC-sw4or Yeah, and for sure she doesn't need a new air filter box.
As we've all heard before: "When the plan falls apart, that's when the real adventure begins." Without the bent shift lever and damaged air box, we wouldn't have discovered Ramdan's friendliness, skill, and generosity (fixing Noraly's bike before all others). It's the interpersonal connections that make lasting memories. I hope that he and his helpers can somehow view this episode.
As someone who's been touring on his bicycle, I know that smooth days are fun. But when you face problems, and conquer them, is what you will always remember.
It's the interpersonal connections that we don't see enough of. Little bit more than usual in this episode thanks to damage.
Spot on you receive what you give 🔥
from now on when bike is BROKE, stop and wait till a mechanic fixes it. you can destroy a bike like that.
That is so true. Happened to me many times over the last 45 years, and it's why I don't worry about riding by myself. I'm always amazed at the generosity of people everywhere.
I would call this episode "Polyester, no problem". I like the kindness and easy life of Moroccan people. Another amazing vlog. Thank you.
It's painful going to modern mechanics. They never want to repair something, they only want to replace it. So awesome to see a real mechanic.
Wow, Ramdan is yet another one of Noraly's 'protective angels' on this incredible journey. Amazing DIY workmanship, so quick and genuinely helpful. What a wonderful hero!
As an African, I'm always impressed by my fellow African's abilities to 'make a plan'. Incredible. Well done guys. 👏 👏

They did real good job. Im a car and motorcycle mechanic and i admire their craftmanship.
Ramdan is a true problem solver and hero! Craftsmanship to the max! We love you! 💎💎💎
Not just Africans, people who have little to work with in general. Which is very common in Africa of course, but also seen it in central Asia, Indonesia, and growing up poor in Europe we had to make do ourselves with scraps and whatever we could cobble together.
Ramadan and his son don't have the luxury of tools and supplies available to Bill and Darren, but they make skillful repairs with creativity, experience, and good humor. As others noted, taking the time to paint the chain guard and air box was a mark of pride in craft. The cardboard pattern making was truly impressive, as was the hand-hammering to finish. The drone shots in the desert looked like something from another planet. It looked like Norlay found a space-time warp and travelled to Tatooine. And even thought motorcycles (typically) don't have a "reverse" Noraly makes the right choice when the desert winds start to blow and changes course. Well done to Noraly and her creative Moroccan mechanics.
True

As a aircraft technician, it always amazes me when I see someone with ingenuity. Ramdan is a shining star in his ability to come up with a clever solution with the tools at hand. It interesting how people in remote areas are so friendly and customer oriented, not so here in the States. Please keep up the great videos, they warm my heart.
street mechanics usually came up with good tricks repairing unavailabe parts...
Yes, Moroccans are very kind, generous and kind. Welcome to your second country
As a Certified red neck fix it anyway you can in a pinch . I always get a kick out of engineers above my pay level to make a simple problem worse. Air craft have at least 1 back up system, great if you flying. Sucks if you have to move it,Hammering a brake line close before a leak is not a option at 30k ft either. But after 47 yrs riding bikes I can always find a way to fix it cheap and nasty.
Ramdan could do a lot of the stuff you and I were taught in A&P school... bent sheet metal, composite repairs, bondo...
It's not about customer.... these people will help out even if you are not a customer. Why u only see the materiel side of the world.
Thank you for putting the Moroccan map all together with no line across its desert. Very appreciated by all Moroccans. Enjoy your trip and wherever u need help, just ask Moroccans as you noticed are very welcoming and helpful

As good as new.
Smart, using fiberglass to plug the hole.. ingenious!
Morocco also known as the NPC (no problem country) 😂. Thanks for sharing those moment with people, they'll probably take the plunge and visit this beautiful country 🇲🇦🇲🇦
Here's another Morocco story along the lines of "no problem." When I was there, someone stole my second pack from the hostel and he was seen with it so we knew who it was. By that time, I was usually surrounded by lots of 5-yr-old boys each day connected with the young man who was showing me around. He said, "No problem." 25 little boys got on the buses and one of them found the guy and followed him to Madrid! The police nabbed him and called my family in the states - yes, my contact info was in it - and they mailed the pack back to my family! Isn't that an amazing story?! The 5-yr-olds knew 6 languages and they hung out with the tourists, getting quarters!
sounds like one of game of thrones stories lol @@robinkrop9404

I'll guarantee you that the repair they did on that airbox is stronger than the rest of the airbox. They used fiberglass on it and once that dries it is stronger than the plastic of the rest of the box. Great video and thanks to Ramadan for his hard, friendly work.
Ramdan is an incredible kid. The mechanics in these small towns really know how to actually fix things. They don't just replace parts, they think outside the box and use what's on hand.
In this case outside the air box!
True, good mechanic.
Ya these guys can fix things and let you keep going! In rich countries, they only know to replace ... Gosh this Ramdan is a MacGyver

Real mechanics not just fitters of spare parts. Even spray-painting the chainguard and airbox, a sign of real pride in their work. Noraly your positivity and amazing people skills ( or more probably your love for your fellow man), is something to admire.
In most 3rd world countries they fix things because parts are too expensive
@@grandenauto3214 What do you mean by 3rd world country?...Stupid classifications come just from stupid people, your speach is racist and supports stratification.
One of my favorite episodes yet. Never underestimate the ingenuity of resourceful mechanics in the developing world. They do what they can with what they have where they are, and they're happy to do it. My guess is that those patches will last for a very long time. Had you gone to a mechanic in the US or Europe, the repair would have cost much more, and you would not have gotten your motorcycle back the same day.

You should always carry a roll of GAF Tape. THis is like Duct tape but fabric and much stronger. It would fix that hole problem and many other problems. It's a must have in your toolkit along with some superglue.
If you were in a more "developed" country you would have had to ask for an appointment first, then hopefully get the part replaced or more probably wait for a replacement to arrive.
Meanwhile in some random place in Morocco you got it fixed right away, no waiting, no nothing, just a "no problem", laughs and tea.
Ramdan and company were so nice, and professional!
Simply Actually the word development and developed should be revised! Those people are more developed and creative than the places where they develop only the invoices and taxes!
Totally agree, not only they fix, fabricate, do everything for you to keep going , but with a huge smile and a world class Moroccan tea!!!!
Motorcycle 's mechanic are massively expensive in usa and almost impossible to repair , and they at this point only on the business of exchanging parts...take one parts and replace it with another parts with exeption of flat tire ...
Exactly, none of this running around multiple places. Signing papers. Reaching out to lawyers, getting someone else to bring you the part, getting another dude to install it, good grief. 😆When I lived in Alabama I went to a shop where the young guy was like him, hard working and willing to lend a hand, he didn't even charge me. Where other shops would've run me around places, and send me home empty. This shop was in an old-school nothing fancy town, where treating your neighbor well still counted.
When I was learning to ride back in 1971, a friend and I spent a lot of time off road. Nothing crazy, very tame off road riding. He decided to do a jump or two. Well his 350 Honda street bike lost the right peg when his weight came down on it during the end of the jump. LOL, It was funny at the time. He had to rest his brake foot on the engine case. We were near San Ysidro/ Imperial Beach Calif area and as we were slowly making our way back to Imperial Beach, we found a little shop run by an older Mexican fellow and stopped to ask if he could help. He looked and laughed and said sure, he could weld it back on. He did so in just a few minutes and when we asked what he wanted, he said a buck. Now days if you go to a shop with a bike older than 10 years old, you get told they can not help you. Sad change in the way bike shops are dealing with customers these days. Big kudos to those Moroccan mechanics!!!
Ramdan can take on any challenge easily, with every issue you've shown him he's just like "ok, no problem" with smile across his face hahaha

That chain guard is one of a kind! Simply amazing to have a part custom fabricated on the side of the road in Morocco. I hope you keep it as a memento!
I would still replace it with the plastic chain guard. If a rock hits it and bends it enough, it could damage the chain and you’d be stranded.
7:50 those big repeating cliffs going back into the distance looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Epic!
I'm way late to watching this episode. As a boat and motorcycle owner, I love the fiberglass ingenuity of the mechanics (polyester resin, couple drops of hardener and some chopped fiberglass strand) 👍.
dont forget the duct tape to hold it all together.
Those workshops are killing it! They are much more capable of what they look like. Huge respect to those guys!!
They repaired it with fiberglass, so it is well repaired. You don't need a new 'air box'. Ramdan is a good guy! 👍
That airbox fix is what as known as a permanent temporary fix!!! Great job!👍👍👍
This is a lesson on how to fix a problem without depending on a dealer, a supply chain or anything else. That fibre glass fix will be more robust than a new air box. I am not sure how many of your viewers / subscribers understand the enormity of the task you have to endure to bring these videos to life. All that gear and proective equipment, the angles, the stop - starts the editing……. and all whilst dealing with a problem you have no idea if it can be fixed in a few hours or if it will change your plans for the next day or more. Sheer professionalism. I doubt you would get such out of the box solutions anywhere in the west due to a combination of lack of skills - laziness - and regulations that result in liability. You are unstoppable Norah. That drone footage in the desert valley was breathtaking. Ma Assalaama Ukhtee. Stay safe

After the chain guard job I felt that Ramdan did not get a proper farewell but as destiny would have it that a second visit was needed and a well deserved appreciation and goodbye was meted out to this talented and humble mechanic. (Wish itchy boots sponsor could mail him a pair of overalls)
That's a good idea !
👍👍🇲🇦🤍🇲🇦👍👍
Great thought
Improvise, Overcome, Adapt. Mixing a magic potion, My guess is it was some kind of resin, a hardening catalyst and coloring, some kind of matting to give it strength.. Reminded me of when I did some work with fiberglass.
Its incredible to see a mecanic working, immediately, not replacing parts after waiting 3 moths like in Europe.
I bet you don’t even need to worry about a new air box. These amazing guys did such a great job!
Second that.
I would say no need for a new airbox, holes patched, good as new. Still keep an eye on it to make sure that the polyester and resin stay attached. Great videos Noraly! 😊👍
Frequently AMAZED at when a problem faces you, your ability to find a source for the repair. I’d say, based on what I know about related things, if they’ve used a 2 part adhesive with what looks like fibreglass, you’ll have a repair that may well last the life of the bike. Yet another reason to follow your travels ! NEVER a dull moment on the ITCHYBOOTS channel…❤❤❤Rick
Never forget that you are not alone. Your community is here to support you and we're all rooting for you!
I like when he finishes the job the other one just paint the guard and the fiber glass!! Not just fix it but above and beyond with the details ❤
ramdhan is an guardian angel sent to help Noraly problems... two thumbs up for rhamdan and crew
One of the best episodes in the series. The mechanic, Ramdan, and the guy that fixes the holes with resins are truly the non spoken heroes of motorcycling. Their wit and enthusiasm is joyful. Most of the times we all depend on the agency to fix our brand new guarantee covered motorcycles. We barely do any work. But after seeing how they built the chain cover from scratch, how they have the workshop, with all the real tools needed, the paint job, and everything else, I stand up and raise my hat for all the road mechanics in the world. Kudos to Itchy Boots for showing these guys and recognizing their work.
I think it was an adequate repair.
They called it something,...I forget,....but I'd call it fiberglass,....it's what corvette bodies are made of, great stuff.
It is expensive too.
The chain guard will work just fine.
I love all these "no problem" mechanics, they are the best :)
Not all "no problem" mechanics are the best, most of them in Morocco are but sometimes they bring more problems afterwards because of incompetence and pride. I think Noraly was advised beforehand.
Ramdan and his crew were innovative in their approach to the air box . What they did was fill those holes with a form of fiberglass. It gives me an insight to how accommodating and friendly the people of Morocco are. Another great video Noraly.
Those guys were excellent and so willing to help. That could have been a major set back yet they fixed it better than most city mechanics with modern equipment.
Great job Ramdan! Their repair of the air box looked pretty solid to me! I wouldn’t think ordering a new air box would be necessary. Love the channel!
