    Great tips and information. What kind of lighting do you give your propagation cuttings? Thank you.

    These are great ways to propagate hoya cuttings. I actually did the zip lock bag method. I took cuttings from my little hoya carnosa and placed it in a ziplock bag with well draining soil, sprayed it with water daily blew air into it before closing and setting it by a window with direct sun. After a few weeks the cutting rooted. I need to get more hoya plants too try to propagate. I'm not experienced yet to try lecca like you are but one day I hope to be. Thanks for sharing

      That’s also a great way to grow them! Glad you’re having success ☺️💕

    Hi, I bought a cutting of a Curtisii about 2 months ago has not put new growth at all. Then I finally said "heck with it" I'm gonna put it in a ziplock baggy with some sphagnum moss. It is putting out some new growth now. So excited. I wish I can get my hands on a cutting of a Eskimo 😲. Btw I love watching your videos. Have a lovely day

    Hi! Love you videos. After we root the Hoya in water and transplant to soil. Do we water the soil thoroughly or wait a few days to water?

    Hi Sara,
    My name is Belinda and I am a fellow Hoya/ Plant addict from Queensland Australia.
    I wanted to ask today wether or not you would recommend rooting Hoya in straight Coco Chips/ Coir mix aswell?
    I have had mixed success with this, but I am in a Hot, Humid, Tropical climate so it's a matter of if I have the right conditions at the time lol.
    I am still unsure if it is recommend by more experienced plant lovers such as yourself so I wanted to seek your opinion 😊
    Thankyou in advance lovely 😊

      Hi Belinda. Sounds like it could work in your climate. I’m in a desert so I need something that retains a little moisture, but my hoyas do like a very chunky, well draining mix in general. Good luck!

    Hi Sara,
    Loved your video! I have a question I am I interested in purchasing some hoyas that are “lightly rooted” in sphagnum moss and am scared to buy since I did not do well with cuttings in moss before, somehow caused it to rot :( any feedback on what to do upon arrival would be greatly appreciated? Can I transfer to soil or keep in moss? If keeping in moss how do I care for it for and when I can transfer?
    TIA

      Depending on how big the roots are you can stick it in water when it arrives. I do this with most plants anyway. You should be able to tell in a day or two if it’s doing ok in the water. I’ve never had a problem, but keep an eye on it. Good luck!

      I’ve got a dedicated video on this one: Hoya Bella | Happy Hoya-Days: Day 23 | Vlogmas 2019
      Overall lots of bright indirect light and more water than other hoyas. Likes to stay moist.

      Tropical Plant Girl it seems like when I give it more water I get yellow leaves then when I back off I get shriveling leaves, guess I haven’t found it’s happy spot yet. Thanks!

    is it OK to propgate in LECA with container half full with water AND PUT IN propagation box??? or is that promoting rotting from too kuch moisture?

    • @TropicalPlantGirl
      @TropicalPlantGirl  Před 4 lety

      I think it’d be too much. You might try a partially open plastic bag or a prop box with holes to promote airflow.

    What the best fertilizer for hoya so that it will bloom flowers?

    • @TropicalPlantGirl
      @TropicalPlantGirl  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi. I’ve found proper light and water much more helpful in getting hoyas to bloom. I just use a basic houseplant fertilizer with some SuperThrive.

      @@TropicalPlantGirl thanky Im using superthrive too.
