Phil, I'm also extremely white and British, but Atlanta is amazing (it's an offbeat comedy show about a rapper and his homeless cousin who produces him). Don't have to be black to appreciate really clever humour. It helps to be British though ;)

They also fired Chris Rock after a couple episodes because he wasn't "enough of an Eddie Murphy type." He auditioned for In Living Color and was turned down. Now he is...Chris Rock!

Whoever has been in charge of casting the last 5 or so years since Bill and Andy left has been shit, I think it was shit a couple years before they came on too, hard to remember that far back. Donald used to be part of Derrek Comedy and that shit was actually better than SNL, it was just a web series though. You either need to be famous, which is why he is hosting now, or you need connections, and I guess he didn't have connections.
He wrote for them for many years, Tina Fey actually had a lot of influence on him.

I like that he makes fun of himself and all of the people that ask "what can't this man do." He's being modest, but he really is an amazing talent of our generation.
-Make decent music.

-Make a non-useless TV show.

This is the best episode I've seen in a long time. It's great to see someone with "real" talent break through. I'm a Star Wars fan and the main and only reason I'm hyped for solo and think it's actually going to be good is this guy. His massive upward trajectory makes it seem highly unlikely that he's going to be involved in anything that's going to fail right now.
