Probably not, but my trumpet teacher in North Hollywood in the late 50s was Ollie Mitchell Jr. Great teacher and studio player. Any relation?

That could have been the same guy! Wonder if anyone else knows.

Ollie was not a Jr, his Dad was Harold "Pappy" Mitchell. Ollie and Pappy were both legendary studio trumpet players.

Well it was a while back but I thought that was it. Ollie told a great story about losing his new Benge trumpetoff the top of his car into traffic. Mr. Benge himself had crafted the horn. Thanks!

Interesting...the Nick Lane song they play at the very end - announced here as “Blasters” - was recorded by Maynard Ferguson under the title “Admiral’s Horn”.

That’s interesting! Same composer. Same song. Different titles. About the same time.
