Gainlab Audio - Empress - KMR Demo Room

Gainlab Audio EMPRESS valve equalizer takes the classic Pultec EQP-1 design and updates it with additional features for modern setups.
Empress offers three bands on each channel. Low and High frequencies can be set to shelf or bell and have separate controls for boost and cut to create a resonant shelf. Low Boost and High-Cut shift switches move the mid-frequency of the boost and cut relative to each other with the Mid-Frequency band offering a wide range of frequencies between 200Hz to 7kHz. A highly musical, yet refined equalizer.

I have this beauty, but I just tested it once and love every bit of it. It's worth every penny, and the sound is amazing, especially with the tube boost...

Yep, we're really impressed with Gainlab over here - their Dictator compressor is great also!

I m impressed !! I tried to do the same with uad and acustica plugins, i m close but not the same, i can t have that depth , why ? Why hardware brings this ? Also i have 2 warm eqp , do you think the empress is another level ?

Thanks for your comment... the Warm EQP-WA is great value for money, but in pure quality terms we’d have to say, yes, the Empress is better all round. If you’re based in the UK we have a demo unit we can send out to you so you can assess for yourself - always the best way!
