She is definitely not telling him the whole truth as to why she doesn't want to have sex. My first thought is that she's not enjoying it but doesn't want to tell him that. There isn't nearly enough information here. It could have been that it was a fear building for a while. Could have been she thought she was pregnant and she doesn't want to risk that actually happening right now.
