This is my new FAVORITE CZcams channel. Period. Ive been binge watching for days.
I don't understand why this doesn't have a million views.
Im a Christian Country songwriter, looking to make the best possible demos I can create, despite my limited knowledge of computers.
I went crazy buying every native kontakt library I could afford, a native 76 keyboard, and a new dell laptop with 16 gig ram.
I don't even how to use garageband, much less any higher daw.
The mapping, routing, and all those tiny little icons that flood the screen of any DAW are a bit intimidating.
But I'm considering trying a mac mini and a scarlett 18i20 3rd gen just to get my feet wet.
Ive got the musicians. Ive got the instruments. And watching your tutorials, I hope to learn the engineering skills that you have been so kind to share.
    Thanks for this invaluable channel!

This was definitely helpful. Every producer on here is all about beats and not songs like this. Helpful!!!!!

Thanks man. I have been learning to record country melodic rock. And your production is extremely musical. I love it. I specially like double tracking the drums to get a good mix of ambient and tight drums sound. All the best. You are a champ.

you could join forest’s videos together and create a masterclass of practical knowledge i swear! been playing with the parallel compression on vocals trick from a past vid for a few days now and it’s taking the whole mix to a new level. can’t wait to give these tips a try

Check out the Tony Royster Mixwave kit released yesterday Forest! It's awesome-it's more responsive and musical than the others.Feels like you're Omar Hakim. I didn't expect it to be so fun and useful.

When time to mix how do you treat a layered kick? Is it carving space for separate sub and punch frequencies?

btw Forest, how do you make sure that the same midi notes work for both drum kits? Some midi drum kits are programmed to different notes.

Pop country nearly killed the entire genre. So let’s not spread this.
