I realize that it may be too late by the time this video is released after editing and such but hopefully not. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I have a feeling that you intend to use your high cube conx’s partially for dry work spaces. If you are you really should use the trackhoe to either lay them on their sides or to rock them over far enough to get some type of work stand or heavy sawhorses under. The reason I say this is due to the fact that they need some type of insulation under the floor between the lateral bulkheads. The fork slots are simple enough to block off once you have them permanently located but putting the roof on top of them will complicate the process extremely. Spent a lot of hours in similar containers as shops on job sites as well as break rooms. Keeping them warm and dry in the winter is quite a task without the void under the floor insulated even with nearly new one trip containers. The amount of hardware and tools I’ve seen ruined from condensation in them is ridiculous. For the containers we used for break shacks most of the crew carried 5 gallon buckets in with them for lunch as a habit in wintertime just to prop our feet off of the freezing floor. The job I spent 12 years on where the containers were more permanent we actually used R30 insulation on the bottom of them. After the fiberglass batting was in between the bulkheads we screwed either sheet metal or 4x8 sheets of what looked like nylon to the bottom of them. The nylon sheets were really nothing more than plastic dump truck bed liner cut into manageable sizes.
The government branch worked at the same site but independently of us. They learned after the second winter how much humidity condenses in those containers. Two of the 40’ configuration were theirs, one of which housed much of the GPS computer hardware, signal repeaters, as well as radio communication electronics. They learned the hard way which caused much delay in the beginning phases of the job. Sadly as it was a government contract, that money comes from our pockets. Anyway, back to the original subject, if I’m too late and you’ve already begun roofing your shop there is still a solution. The solution may be a bit more on the pricey side but it’s more of a last resort. Expanding foam can be added at just about any time to the void under your containers but should be applied by a professional, hence the additional cost. The reason I mention professional installation is from a firsthand account of seeing what it does to the floor of the container. During a bridge job one of the company bosses thought he’d be slick and try insulating what had been the tool and rigging container while the rest of us were eating lunch in the other shack. The floor was strong enough to twist about 7/8 of the bulkheads in the bottom before turning into a busted splintered mess with around 10” of the outside skin warped at the bottom.
You have my most sincere apologies for dragging this out so long on your comments section. Just hope to get the message to you soon enough so you’re not backtracking later to spend extra time and money on what could be a much easier, cheaper process now. If anything else, do your own research on the subject to form your own conclusion, just thought it best to make you aware.
The 2 of you have gotten so good at using the equipment so well. Love how the you both work together so well. Can't wait to see what is coming next.
The worst part of these videos is when they end I can watch them all day long.
That trailer is freaking neat, had no idea such a thing existed. Awesome little transformer.
haha "We live among its people now, hiding in plain sight, but watching over them in secret, waiting, protecting, moving trailers."
@@thisolesignguy2733 That is in the visible spectrum, if they saw what happened in the cloaked mode there would be mass hysteria...
Same! That trailer is freakin awesome!
if you set that roof on the containers up for rain catchment you will get massive amount of water every rain
that's a great idea
I am impressed that you were able to do several different 'topic' videos at the same time. I recognize that your fill dirt is from the water video. You were essentially working on multiple projects at once in a few of your videos. Yet, you managed to edit them in such a way that each video is one project.
Things got a little crazy around here this summer! 🤪
I can't even begin to imagine HOW crazy it got this summer! Keep up the good work!@@AmbitionStrikes
That’s smart planning for content creation. These guys know how to do it so well.
AmbitionStikes at great at both the work being done and all that pre & post production
The overall plan is coming together. The excavator & Skidsteer have paid for them selves many times over. The storage area will save your equipment through the Winters. You guys rock! ❤
You guys have come so far! You are proof that if you work hard and delay gratification for a while, you can really get ahead in America! So proud of you guys.
that is such a good idea! protected cold storage on each side for some items with a huge amount of space for additional protected from mother nature storage in the middle!
I can’t wait to see what you do with your shipping containers. I absolutely love the idea of making these as functional as possible. Have a great weekend my CZcams friends. Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
I'm so excited for you three! To have an instant second shop! That is awesome. Can't wait to see it continue.
Great idea for a storage/shelter. Can't wait for next week!
Hello Riley,
I have 4 shipping containers used for storage. Under 3 of them, I used vapor barriers on the ground. This greatly reduces the moisture level inside. I used polyethylene film with 90 lb roofing rolled over the top of the plastic film. The containers were placed on railroad cross ties, providing an air space below. It also gives room for storage of items such as pipe.
Good luck with the project,
Len
That is so great to see that container come all the way in on the road
We still can’t believe how easy it was to get them up here!
Hard work and daring ambition pay off, well done love watching @@AmbitionStrikes
The value you are adding to this property is phenomenal 🎉
Awesome Job! This is going to be a great usable storage and parking facility, much needed! Take Care you Three! Tom
Soon you'll have a shop like Diesel Creek's!
Good to keep the equipment out of the weather.
You know nothing !!
@@shanehumphrey4827Hey has a similar container shop
Thanks Cour5tney, Riley and Oliver for making, editing and uploading this Team effort of moving 2 giant 40' trailers exactly where you had prepared and marked it! Loved seeing the repair of the snow blower. Look forward to seeing you install the bargain roof trusses and install a roof above.
I love those dual container setups. I'd love to have a shop like that. @ 14:41 "This might be a really bad idea." If y'all had a dollar for every time Riley says that, y'all could retire. LOL!
What a great project. I love the concept and the innovation you two tackle. Great job. Can't wait till next episode.
GOOD SUNDAY MORNING
I have been subscribed since before your home build. I so Love how grateful you both are to your subscriber’s it is so humbling to hear you both say Thank you to us ! We Love your family & videos! 🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
You push 40 ft containers into position more easily than I set furniture and a 55in TV in the refurbished conservatory. Well done for this stage.
Love the container shop build! I have 2 high cube containers that I am going to do the same with. Can't wait for the rest of the videos. Keep up the great videos guys!
I love how you have video cams and hidden microphones everywhere, in the sky, on the equipment, on tripods - there HAS to be a camera/sound crew and workforce housing for all the Trades working behind the scenes - and then Courtney just strolls up wearing Baby
Great idea. Can’t wait to see this project come together. 👍👍
It is so exciting to follow all your off grid projects. Thank you so much for making that possible ❤
No can ever have too much storage space, or a place to park vehicles and machinery! I'm glad to see the road so much improved before winter, and the addition of much needed cover for your equipment and machinery. You two (plus little Oliver) are really doing a great job!!
That is so great you found a convenient and cheap water source! I hope it produces water for decades for you.
Thanks for the content guys, its fun to watch.
Love the engineering detail. First one I watch on Sunday morning. Your videography is first class. Hats off to you both.
You two are AMAZING. SO AMAZING
That was fun, thanks
What you two have accomplished in such a short amount of time in the last few years is pretty incredible!!!
Loved the layout of your old container home, looked pretty sweet.
You got the containers in. It will be a good project to do the roofing.
Still waiting to see when you do a huge carport off the other side of your house. I honestly figured that was going to be the next thing. But I'm loving this as well..
This two shipping container workshop/covered storage area idea is something I've been kicking around for quite some time, but have yet to implement. I am therefore glad you two are tackling it; perhaps I can get some fresh ideas. Thanks. All I need is a skidsteer and an excavator, ha ha.
Wearing your chaps that way is the ultimate CYA
It understandably the need for work shop positioned away and not to be pounding and sawing and causing fumes with a baby sleeping upstairs. Especially, will be good not to have to freeze while shoveling snow and ice off everything this winter. It is really a treat to watch all this come together
. Great job !
This build is going to have a bit of a diesel creek vibe.... I like it!
So pleased that you are creating workshop/storage unit for your machinery. So I am looking forward to watch your progress. Keep well - Oliver looks a great kid!
Back in the 70's we built a barn like this using Reefer Railroad Cars, it is still used on that ranch today. My UGLY TRUTH video on Containers was to help those that want to live in one, this is a Good Use for them. Storage Containers, now that has a ring to it. I Like your work.
I love this idea. Well done guys. You are the best.🥰🥰🥰
Diesel Creek West at it again! Shipping container shop for almost NO MONEY!
That was super! That crab-walking trailer is a new one for me. Certainly validated the road upgrades, too. Well done. QUESTION: How does Oliver know to look at the camera? He looks right at it on cue.
I think he loves the fuzzy microphone! 🤣
Great video, do you all get a little nervous when you hear Riley say "I think I have an idea?" haha
Wish you could of done some base rock under the containers. I was jus thinking the other day that all your nice equipment would like a shed & be under a roof this winter.
Fabulous episode, very enjoyable!
We recently took delivery of two 20’ one trip containers. planning on a container barn with ours next year. I bet I was eyeballing the same trusses you guys picked up. definitely a good deal on those. I’m excited to see how you guys go about mounting the trusses! I’d imagine I’ll follow your method when it’s time for us to start our build.
I am a big fan of re-purposing and this project makes shipping containers and used trusses look great (not an easy lift) while providing much needed area to keep your equipment out of direct outside environment which will pay you huge dividends as time goes by in keeping your equip. in tip top shape. NICE!! Ray
Why didn't you put gravel under the container?
Nice Job guys. That will make you great storage and workshop.
You three rock and that is going to be a great storage building! Lots of space at a very reasonable cost! Nice !!!
Awhile back we had a 16x32 cabin delivered and Brandon has a similar trailer. He snaked in between a tree and a building. He put it exactly where I asked, exactly!
I saw one of your videos a month or so ago and instantly fell in love with them, so I subscribed and belled so not to miss future ones. I have gone back and watched all your videos from the start and especially like the ones where you both are. building/repairing an item. Now sadly I have completed watching all your videos and I must now wait each week or so till you post a new one. Great looking boy in Oliver.
All those years of water issues and the solution was in your back yard all the time! Long as you can store enough. 2-3 gph will get you by forever.
Love the cont shop, to bad I'm limited to 4' above the containers for "roofing". You will need at least a path around the outside though, I keep 6ft opened up.
Dozer gone? Got your use from it at least, it was big but the exc and skid will do you now. I had to pull the guy out when my 40' was delivered.
Nice repair on the blower. If you would stop breaking EVERYTHING you could get more real work done,,,,,,,,,,
Nice! Can’t wait to see the finished product. And the build process.
Another clever build coming up! This will be fun.
Nice job on the containers. Weld adjustable skids on the bottom of your snow blower. You can't clear down to the surface unless it's a hard pavement.
Proof positive. Teamwork makes the dream work 😊
Your camera man seems to sleep a lot but smiles so cutely. Pretty soon he will be crawling all over the site, looking for good camera angles. The drone will be a favorite for reckless Oli.
That was so great looking good thank you for sharing and your time was really awesome never miss a video.
Great job on this week's project.
Love how you designed your container home as well.
Trailer moving storage containers was amazing. Will continue following to see finished shed. Amazing set of ideas you guys think up
I'm guessing in the back of Riley's mind he's thinking "just imagine this huge roof where I can mount more solar panels!" And yes, those shed trailers are amazing. Very creative and well thought out. Shed delivery is an industry all by itself.
I think they already produce more power than they can reasonably use, but if some other energy intensive need comes along that will be a good place to add more production.
I agree with the other comments here. That trailer was pretty amazing. Plus, your previous abode shows more of your ingenuity. I can see how it's carried over to your Idaho location. 👍
You all are amazing! God bless you all and your little baby boy!🥰❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Well done guys! Exciting project!
Another BIG project that i'm super excited to watch and follow the build.
I could watch you guys work for hours. You need a full time camera crew and editor. “Casey Production Crew”
Can’t wait to see how you do the trusses….. add some clearstory window framing first? And totally aligned for more solar.
We did something similar at the ranch except ran trusses to the outside, giving us storage on the container. We framed them up a few feet as wall. We did that so it looked like a barn, for the neighbors. Works great. Equipment storage in the middle, storage and work space in the containers. Added a roll up door to one container to access the tools for the equipment, but should have just done a sliding barn door.
Can't wait to see that building finished!
Your plan is sooo cool. Good job.
Indeed, that sounds like every handyman's dream! Best of luck with your project; I'm eagerly anticipating the finished result.
Man I love you both!!! Definition of team work.
Great project idea! Waiting for next part! 👍
Excellent video as always!
I hope, that workshop roof wouldn't shade solar panel corner in winter..😉
Nice upgrade! Take care & stay safe.
It is a real pleasure to enjoy the dream coming true for you young folks. Great team work!! A always stay safe and God Bless
I love watching your videos the container placement was amazing with that trailer..the snow plow repair was genius..
The thing I love most is nothing stops you guys ..
God bless you and all you are doing.
Great job guys! Love your shows! ❤
GREAT job you two...anxious as you to see the project :)
Good job guy’s this will be great when finished, really enjoyed the old container house cutaway too.
Great job guys! You two work so well together
You guys are Awesome..!! 😊 you make putting every project together look so easy...
Good to see you guys starting a new project.. Be safe and be well to all of you.. Reilly get to work daily from 6 am to 18:00 hours 24/7 till the project is over.
You two are just amazing❤❤🎉
Looks great guys! Once again, nice job
You guys need to make more vids--I really enjoy watching every vid!
Can't wait to watch this project come together!!
That will be some seriously useful space. Awesome!
The tunes are awesome again! Which one of you is the blues freak?
glad to see you building a cover to put your equipment. hope it goes well.
Sigh… I love you guys! Always great, informative videos and your place has become a castle. 💖
5:40 - Glad to hear you are getting 2-3 gallons/hour out of your shallow well I think rain water harvesting in summer will be a must. I would like to see your water treatment system once it is installed.
How cool that you have the machinery- and that you both can operate them!
Glad to see this project is going well so far 🙌 👍
Can't wait to see the next step, looking great.
I started watching your channel for the container home build…not too long after you posted them. Finally building my own as a vacation cabin.
I'm guessing you guys got a little inspiration from Matt over at Diesel Creek for that container/roof storage area? The first time I saw that container shed, I figured I would do that one day myself. Then when you guys started building up on that raw land, I figured that you would eventually build something similar to keep your 'toys' out of the weather.
Great effort from the both of you is paying off. Thanks for sharing the voyage.
Great show guys! Keep up the good work!
