I remember having my mind blown seeing Monkey Ball IOS for the first time. It literally introduced me to the entire concept of playing a game by simply tilting your phone, as at the time gyro controls could basically only be found on the Wii and PS3 (neither of which i had back then). The idea of physically tilting the entire phone as though you were rolling an actual ball through a maze was just something i had never seen before.
I wish the App versions of these games just let us use a Virtual Joystick. Gyro only is not my preference. Being able to use both at the same time would be ideal imo, with gyro for large movements and Trackpad for quick adjustments. I couldn't find a Gyro emulator that worked well for Monkey Ball either.
It is a little bit strange how it's never even been an option to use a virtual joystick. Even if gyro was considered the main way to play it, at least it could give us options! I actually thought the gyro controls in Sakura Edition worked really well though all things considered! Your idea of a mixture of the two would be interesting to see implemented too!
I love this series so much I was able to play a few of these mobile game I love this series so much I made fan art of almost every character together on one giant background
That's awesome! I only got to play Sakura Edition on an actual phone. Everything was delisted before I could play them officially! Monkey Ball can always do with more fan art!
I think I mentioned some of the Step and Roll minigames in my actual Step and Roll review, but I don't actually recall the Poptropica minigame specifically!
