I've seen it 100 times and everytime I'm as equally blown away by the energy and insane ability that EVH put into that performance. He will always be my favorite guitar player.
Damn. This video made me shed a tear or five. My dad (who was a self-taught classical guitarist and honored by the NEA in Washington DC) bought a Les Paul and would proudly display it. Until my sister "borrowed" it and he never saw it again 😢. And he knew my fave guitarist was EVH, his fave was Andrès Segovia.
Wow Eddie with Jan Hammer and Tony Levin, who is the drummer? I worked with the Les Paul Trio a lot at the Iridium sadly after Les had passed, never got to meet him, Anton Fig would come over from David Letterman and play with the trio with special guests. Good times. One night I played drums at sound check for Zakk Wylde and the trio because Anton couldn’t make sound check, I am not a drummer😅
I played every date of the 5150 tour (with the opening act, BTO)......met Les Paul back stage at one of those shows......what a joy and an amazing memory.........
Who said EVH is dead.... I can hear him play this song and eruption in andromeda galaxy....he has been kidnapped...but aliens left his body here....gave him an ageless body there.... Now he's blowing the hell out of them, aliens...😮 Keep on rocking eddie...we can hear you....from any corner of this universe and beyond..
Tony Levin on bass and Jan Hammer on keyboards.
Thank you, I was going to ask if that was Tony 😊.
Picked 'em both. Levin has played with everyone on the planet apart from me and you. Legend.
Right!?????? WOW I worked every date of the 5150 tour, but didn't get to hear anything like this.............
How much more 80’s can you get? Maybe if Phil Collins was on drums
I love the respect EVH gives the legend Les Paul...both RIP
In my humble opinion, Eddie Van Halen was the BIGGEST STAR in The Van Halen band. Him & his brother. RIP Eddie, you are truly missed.❤❤
Shut it fan boy.
I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it.
Lol
Lol. Good one
Absolutely. Haha.
Eddie is kissing Les Paul with sincere love, an honest admirer.
He’s drunk AF.
I've seen it 100 times and everytime I'm as equally blown away by the energy and insane ability that EVH put into that performance. He will always be my favorite guitar player.
1988. Life was good.
🤗
Shut. The 80’s was cheesy and this video proves it.
@@user-user-user-user.
More CHEESE 🧀 PLEASE!!
@@user-user-user-user. We could be cheesy without judgement from people like yourself in 1988. You just proved the point. Life was better then.
The cocaine was good…
-R.I.P. -Eddie Van Halen- [Oct. 6 2020]__ we still rock with all van halen music__🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
So sad Eddy V is gone.. really brings tears to my eyes…. That god we had him for as long as we did……. REST IN PEASE BUDDY…

Very proud to have known Eddie, if only on a casual basis.
Eddie's killing it here and nice tribute to Les, RIP to the king!
I wish Eddie would have teamed up with a prog band and created an entire album like this.
Eddie and Tony.... Wow
OMG I miss him!! RIP EVH! 😢❤
Last night, Darth EVH came down from planet Vulcan and told me that if I didn't take Lorraine out that he'd melt my brain
That scene was epic.
-May 29 2024- 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Let's just keep this brain melting stuff to ourselves, ok?
Vader, not Eddie Van Halen. So close.
Its your density
The greatest to ever plug in. And Les Paul too!
Eddie is the Hendrix of his generation. Mental what he can do with 6 strings.
Thank you, Eddie!
This reminds me of Back to the Future when Marty McFly tells school dance audience after playing a guitar solo..., Your kids are going to love it....
Would have loved to see Eddie and Levin do a side project. Two totally different styles but they killed it here.
Thank You
Eddie
You Gave Us So Much
We Miss You Dearly
Peace To All
Two Wizards respecting each other✌️
Great Live! performance. The 80's were great! Eddie kicked ass!
So good. I'm so happy I got to see Eddie play live
Magnificent
I find that one of Eddie's greatest performances.
God do I miss Eddie
Almost as much time between Les Paul in 58 to EVH in 88 to us now.
That heart .. passion… enthusiasm.. pure ART..
Damn Eddie was crazy good, and makes it look so easy.
Smiling, dancing, jumping around while playing technically insane guitar! RIP
All ICan Say Is WOW‼️ TOTALLY AMAZING ‼️👍👍
My man had a few refreshments, be easy on the coolest !
That was ffing outrageous 😮 never seen this...he was so unreal...🎉🎉🎉🎉

Eddie Van Halen Always Loved, Never Forgotten, Forever Miissed
This was awesome. My first time seeing it here.
One for the Ages here! Paying homage from One Generation to another,
The man was amazing!
Jesus. LES PAUL STEPS ASIDE. But he does it for EVH. And damn if Eddie doesn't bring along Tony Levin AND Jan Hammer! Unbelievable
WAOW ! With Tony Levin on bass !
EVH- What an incredible soul.
Les paul and the master wow eddie !
That's respect. Eddie is into all that electronics sn building stuff.
Only 108,000 views??? This is amazing! First time seeing this! Love the tribute! 💕
This was Eddie's best improvisation!!! Hands down!!
Monstrous !
Truly the g. o. a. t
エディーって弾くギターの個性が強すぎてどれだけ有名なミュージシャンとやっても噛み合わないんだなと思いました。
Jan Hammer’s lead lines are great, like when he played with Jeff Beck
Jan Hammer 🎹👑
Just shows how Great Alex is
Wow, Tony Levin is on bass with EVH 😮
That's clean 👍🇺🇸
うわー
懐かしいー
随分昔に観ましたよ。
まだ、ビデオあるのかな?
Gota be one of Eddie’s tightest performances sheesh! On fire!
Lol
Eddie rocked
Imagine if he was actually in tune!
I played every date of the 5150 tour (with the opening act, BTO)......met Les Paul back stage at one of those shows......what a joy and an amazing memory.........
Tony Levin! Awesome
George Costanza on the keytar!!!
Wow I had no idea George Costanza could play keyboard!
😂you beat me by like one second 🤘🖖🎹✌️👌
Give a shout out to the backing band .all top guys
カッコいいなー
I’m gonna guess this is a highlight in band members career
このベースって…あの人か
すげえセッションだな
F'n E V H !
IMO, EVH was the greatest rock guitarist who ever lived.
Holy crap look who’s on bass?
"De Master" with bass master Mr. Levin
There's another Les Paul show where Eddie plays with Les Paul. Does anybody have that performance uploaded?
👏👏👏👏
Jan Hammer don't take no back seat either. He can light it up
Is that Jan Hammer on mini keyboards?
He was riding high with Miami vice..
Yes
They’re jamming together somewhere right now, luckily Tony Levin can’t play bass for them just yet, though. Ungodly playing by all present
George Costanza on keytar.
Who said EVH is dead....
I can hear him play this song and eruption in andromeda galaxy....he has been kidnapped...but aliens left his body here....gave him an ageless body there....
Now he's blowing the hell out of them, aliens...😮
Keep on rocking eddie...we can hear you....from any corner of this universe and beyond..
was that jan hammer?✨⚜️✨
Yep...
I need to watch some Miami Vice...
Eddie was right, Les Paul created much more than Eddie Van Halen.
Wow that was rich!
And he did it while completely obliterated.
That bass player played with Peter Gabriel also.
And King Crimson and with Yes (ABWH).
Dime Bag sqeeeellls,, 🤠
On the Live Without a Net video what’s the little snippet he plays right before the Eruption solo? It’s a slow piece
Cathedral. i guess.
A piece he wrote while Valerie was pregnant with Wolfie that ended up on For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge called 3:16 (Wolfie's birthday).
@@jeffshaw3466 thanks so much, oft years I thought this was just a one off riff he did
Was their a high quality sound recording of this done?
Was Toni Levin still in King Crimson? What did I just see here?
Is that Paul Mitchell rockin on the skinz, alright alright alright, EVH just in another category as a guitar musician
Who is durummer?
Anyone recognise the drummer????
Thank God for Both of them....to hell with cigarettes😲😡
Why is George Costanza on keys?
How was on drums ...almost looked like Mike Portnoy
Line up?
Eddie was probably drunk off his ass during this appearance --- he admitted many times he had social anxiety and needed booze to relax around people
Это Джо Сатриани? Буги
Les Paul always looked coked up (and EVH always was)
Les Paul was a bad mammer jammer
That's Eddie Van Halen up there , whose the dork on the key tar , not cool at all
