- This is a documentary featuring the first touring production of Starlight Express as it prepared for its Australian debut in Sydney. The footage covers the cast from its early rehearsals in London to the first performance in Tokyo. The tour was revived in 1990, returning to Japan with a brand new cast save for a select few of the principal actors.
Starlight Express is property of Andrew Lloyd Webber/Really Useful Group.
BEST version, got to see it in Adelaide, South Australia when i was a little tacker, staged in a circus tent.
Look at that Electra wig! Compared to the Broadway version going on at the same time...
I was lucky enough to see this 3 times in its opening 2 years in London. My first time was just outside the inner track and then second time inside the inner track. Third time was nearer the back. It really was the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen, and we used to listen to the soundtrack at home REALLY loud! (" CONTROL CONTROL....!!"). Loved Pops.
I hope this cast members are still alive. Id love to meet them.
