    Thanks to your great idea I've so much learned electrical trouble shooting techniques I love watching all of your videos despite there where some electrical trouble that I've been already encountered onboard and despite we have fixed the trouble Eve it takes long time and since we don't have electrician onboard.
    Thank you again and God bless to your channel and keep safe always bro.

    Get a Fluke 773. It reads mA signals with a clamp. You could see if your sensor is in range (4-20mA) or not so that gives you a starting point if it’s the PLC or not. You can also simulate a current signal with it. A massive time saver. Love the Insight to your time onboard. 👍🏻

      i know this is 2years old but holy hell man thats a causal $1.5k-2k for a meter. I guess its based on case by case but i just use my 87 to read 4ma-20ma signals. and if needed i have a plc tools simulator to shoot in some current. all for less than $1k and a lot more versatile

    Interesting that marine uses Green/White for Type K. We use Red/Yellow for oil and gas. Even Armored cable thermocouples are annoying with problems because the armor braid can stab through and cause a short.
    Always checking each lead (red or yellow) against ground. (We used ungrounded thermocouples) to see if they are shorted.

    hi it's so good to have you.
    my emergency generator is not sensing the MSB power after black out.
    it's not stopping the Emergency generator aftre recovery of the black out... which component could i have to check in order to rectify this problem. for the time being i am just switching of the EDG and switching on the MSB tie breaker manually on ESB.

    While you adjust amplifier that time local panel temp also changed 25 to 30 and ams system? yes or not?if yes how you come to know that is the actual output of temp sensor?

    • @leckyjake
      @leckyjake  Před 3 lety

      You have the local reading on the local control panel. Most of the time the local reading is the accurate one as it did not pass to that amplifier hence the ams should much the local reading. I verifed that one using the digital multimeter

    When you adjusted the amplifier to give the same reading as the local instrument, that would just give one point on the graph. Really you need 2 points to give the same gradient, ideally at 4mA and 20mA.

      Yup, 4-20 mA type sensor sila and to think about it, naka sensor fault na sila. You need to isolate the system if the sensor is placed in an unsafe area, let say winding temperature sensor.
