    Thank you so much for this video. I have managed to do it all on laptop without the use of the mobile app. Then all assets moved to Ledger Live and disappeared from Coinbase and I nearly had a heart attack as I thought they'd appear on both! But reading the comments has put me at ease (I think). For a beginner, I suppose I didn't know what to expect. :D

      Haha you’re all good! As long as you sent it to the correct crypto asset address, you’re good. It will just take time to have it confirmed on the blockchain. Sometimes it takes a few minutes (ADA, LTC, DOGE) other times it can take 30-45mins (BTC for example). The first few times can really be nerve-wrecking.

    Hello, best video on this subject thus far on CZcams. I have looked substantially for information about the fees associated with the transfering of btc from coinbase to my wallet (ledger nano x) and have not found a clear answer to it. Is it fixed fee or a percentage based fee. What about if I transfer back from ledger to coinbase, any fees there too? Thank for the great work you're doing to keep us well informed!

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 2 lety +10

      Appreciate the comment! Yes there will be fees when you send to the Nano X and back. It's called a "network fee" or "gas." It's percentaged based but also depends on the congestion of the network. BTC is very cheap to send back and forth on the network (unlike ETH). The larger amount of BTC you send, the smaller percentage of a fee. The best way to see how much you'll be paying is to start setup a transaction and get to the "preview transaction" screen and it will tell you how much.

      Yes glad you figured it out! Most platforms will let you know IF you are about to send it to an incorrect blockchain address (like in your example). Some don't which is why I personally ALWAYS double check myself before sending... I make sure 1) I'm sending ETH to an ETH address, etc and 2) that the address itself is correct and not missing any numbers/letters.

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 2 lety +2

      Think of your crypto assets like gold or silver. Whether it's in your possession or at a bank, the price of that asset still fluctuates with the market... same here whether it's on an Exchange or on your Nano X.
      You'll need to send them back to an Exchange (Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Binance, etc) to sell them. You can also sell them through Ledger Live but I've seen nothing but extremely high fees on Ledger Live.

      Jerry, what make and model of phone do you have? I had issues with the Bluetooth as well and noticed that making sure I had my phone "forget" the Nano X that that helped reconnect it.

      Hey Plus Dzabaka, as long as you have the Public Key to your particular crypto asset (BTC in your example), you can send the BTC without your device in hand.

    Hello, onces i send it, it the ledger app does not show a latest operation tab and it does not reflect the balance on my wallet, Coinbase says pending, should I be concerned?

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 2 lety

      Yes pending means that everything is getting verified on the blockchain that you are using. For example, BTC can take anywhere from 15-45mins and LTC can take 5-15mins.

    What do you do when it comes time to sale it then what do you do.

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před rokem

      The most popular option is to send it back to an Exchange and sell it there. I did a video on this here: czcams.com/video/g9R2Vl0wQPo/video.html

    Can you please advise also and I can never find a straight answer when I search, but if I want to transfer say to make it in easy terms $100k from Coinbase to a Ledger, what are the fees to do this? I have searched and can't seem to figure it out.

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 2 lety

      That’s because it’s based on the amount you’re sending and how congested the blockchain is. If you send $10 it’s going to be a higher percentage as opposed to $100k. It’s not a set rate if that makes sense. CB will show you how much it’s going to cost when you want to send it.

  • @JFroggg
    @JFroggg Před rokem +1

    Curious what I’m doing wrong that incurs a crazy fee of 15-20%!? Help me, please!

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před rokem

      There are multiple reasons why… 1) not every blockchain will have the same fee (I’ve seen ETH get crazy high for example during the day and ESPECIALLY leading up to the Merge last year), and 2) the fee will fluctuate based on the congestion on that specific blockchain. Just remember that you can’t send BTC over LTC blockchain for example. BTC has to be sent over the BTC blockchain. You might already know that but I like to restate it to everyone so no one gets confused.

    When you are sending the money and during that process do you have to leave the computer on the whole time u til you receive the money?
    Also if you have to leave the computer on a lose power during the traction so you lose your Bitcoin?
    Thank you

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 4 měsíci +1

      No you do not have to leave the computer on or have the Nano connected. Once you go through the steps to confirm the transaction, you can then unplug your Nano and turn off your computer if you want.

    Question, so I tried to send eth from coinbase to my ledger nano x. I double checked the address and the network and both were correct but I have yet to receive my eth in my wallet! is it lost? I have tried contacting support, but no help.

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 8 měsíci

      It is not instant if that is what you were hoping for. Several confirmations on the blockchain have to happen in order for you to see it validated and in your Ledger. Are you seeing it now?

    Hi! Great tutorial! Quick question! If my nano X is plugged into my computer and I see my balances updated in Ledger Live on my Mac (that’s connected to my wallet), does that mean my crypto is now in my wallet? I am dying to unplug, but I’m nervous!

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 2 lety +1

      Glad to hear it! You can unplug your Nano X no problem. Without going into a long explanation, your Nano X holds your Private Keys that proves that you own that particular amount of crypto that is ON the blockchain and not on your hardware wallet... as long as you have your public address, you can send crypto to it when it's plugged in and when it's not.

    • @CryptoBlick

      No the amount will not show on the physical device. You use Ledger Live to see the actual amount that you are holding. Great question!

    • @CryptoBlick

      Yes CB limits what you can send depending on how new your account is and where your fiat monies are coming from (bank ACH, credit or debit card, etc).

    • @CryptoBlick
      @CryptoBlick  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! On your Uphold app, click on the "Transact" icon to send your crypto. When you click on the "to:" field, make sure to select the appropriate "Cryptocurrency Network" and NOT the "Cryptocurrencies" or anything under "My Accounts." It will then ask you for a Receiving Address to send to.
