    The most soporific relaxing video of Takeoff. I could barely keep my eyes open, though I did. I kept nodding off and waking myself to watch the world outside the cockpit. Relaxing and beautiful in the half light. I will use it to put myself to sleep. Highly recommended! A perfect time to video as the light is not dazzling and is cinematic, with lights below set in a blue twilight vista and an almost night sky above.

      You should at least start with Flight simulator 2020 and use flybywire A320nx add on. It has been developed by hundreds of real life A320 pilots. It almost exactly to real A320 from cold start up, FMC programing etc etc. Overall Flight Simulator 2020 is pretty awesome esp if you've got decent high end computer. I'm always blown away by the real world photo imagery when flying the flybywire A320nx. 😉 I'll never become a real life pilot, this makes me feel like one😁

From a passenger perspective it is a very nice aircraft. I have also flown in and out of Frankfurt more times than I can count over the years. I don’t really know anything about aviation but I like to observe as much as possible of what is happening with the plane when I fly. Seeing the cockpit perspective was very cool.

    Why does the engine power up more in thrust climb after flex power? I’ve noticed that airbuses sometime does this.
    I understand that the computer calculates takeoff power when in flex, but if thrust climb is a higher power setting, why not just use that in takeoff. Considering it switched to climb when 1000 feet ish. Can’t understand why

    • @SunSkipper360
      @SunSkipper360 Před 2 lety

      Basically man flex is what is needed to takeoff until Lvr Climb (above 1000ftAGL). After this, the climb rate might go to something as high as 4000fpm, so higher thrust is therefore required on the climb in some circumstances. I AM NOT a pilot so don't take me 100% on that.

    • @planely1263
      @planely1263 Před 3 lety +4

      That is, because it is the correct representation of the horizon in reference to the plane. When the plane banks to the left, the horizon (appears to) tilt to the right, the plane being represented by the fix black/yellow angles and dot in the center. There are also attitude indicators with a 'moving plane' - vs. moving horizon here - but these are fairly uncommon in modern western airliners. I think russian planes commonly use them.

      "There's a line divider on the checklist that is basically a pause point. You can do the checklist to the line, pause, then when certain conditions are met, you call for "below the line" to finish it."
      "Many airlines have a "two part" before take-off check list. The second part being defined by a line . The reason for this is to get as much of the before take off items done, and saving a few items for the last minute, i.e WX radar, auto throttles and transponder.
      So, while your taking the active runway for take off, we do the final items, or just say "below the line"."

      When I changed seats it took five minutes to get used to it. And I’m also right handed.

    FOB : 5120kg and take off thrust at FLX 66°C
    Short flight for sure, but also almost Empty ?

      That flight is flying BAH-FRA-CDG during the pandemic. So there are only a few passengers who are flying to CDG on board. No new passengers boarding at FRA for the flight to CDG. Later the day the aircraft is returning from CDG and is flying onward to BAH.

    Did the Captain push up the thrust levers on the F/O's takeoff? Seems like split control of the airplane.

    • @BaconAndPotatoCorp
      @BaconAndPotatoCorp Před rokem +1

      This is normal. It is the captains decision to reject a takeoff. At v1, the captain will remove his hand from the thrust lever, because after that they're committed to it. At the accelleration altitude, the pilot flying will then reduce thrust to climb thrust and has the control over the thrust lever.

      @@BaconAndPotatoCorp Usually the PF pushes the thrust levers up to takeoff thrust, then the Captain puts their hand on the thrust levers to prepare for a rejected takeoff. With the Captain setting takeoff thrust while F/O is steering and flying the takeoff, that is split control.

      @@webbm320 That seems to be a company-dependent difference. Every employer I've had so far had the captain taxi and set takeoff thrust even if he is pilot monitoring on that leg.

      Routing during the pandemic is BAH-FRA-CDG and later CDG-FRA-BAH. Due to the lack of passengers they consolidated the flight to FRA and CDG.
