      Oh he's not getting back! We might be in look he sent me a video last night of him cooking some jambalaya so maybe he's thinking about it? Not sure, he better! I'm loving these little coticule stones, it really feels like I cracked a code or something with the dilucote, i'm consistently getting edges that feel 10k cutting keeness with one stone honing from bevel set. I might sell my jnats haha

Cheers Marti, your video today saved me while working!

    Great video Sean. I like how you have understood that your honing technique needs to adapt to each stone. That's key to learning how to use stones of different types, and it just takes time on each stone to learn what it can, and can't give you. Even though I'm all about the math, now you need to forget how to count! 🤣
    I'm going to do some sort of video (zero planning, as usual) in the next day or two, and will provide an update on how shaving without stropping is progressing. (hint: amazing results)

    Great stuff Sean. I need to take time to learn my coti. I've had it for a while. My first attempts weren't too good so I relegated it to pre-finisher status and always followed it with a translucent Arkansas or slate. It's a hard coti, so you've opened my mind to trying some different approaches with it. I'll have to find the time - I'm having too much fun learning the Jnats I got from Eric!

    • @seanstapelfeld
      @seanstapelfeld  Před 27 dny

      Jnat also got me some really nice Jnats! He is such a great guy and when in doubt with a coticule he is the person to go to in my opinion. Once I get undercut with the coticule with water only I go to the sink and do 80 laps with clean water cleaning the stone and razor every 10 laps until I hit 80... even if you don't see the garnets I feel like they are there... after that I do 20 more laps but I rinse the coti and razor every 5... after that I like using something to bump the edge over the stone, oil has been working so well... There I do 20 laps on oil and strop heavy... My hht has been crazy lately... keep me posted with your coti please!
