When my child quit the second nap...well that was a hard pill to swallow😅

I doubt very much you are dumb, if i in fact heard you correctly. CS Lewis is very academic and I've found him difficult to read many times. I have a Master's Degree and do not consider myself dumb and I really struggled with him. Maybe some people don't; good for them. It's not me lol. Be proud that you're attempting it. My husband recommended the Problem of Pain by him when I was struggling and I haven't finished it yet. Sometimes I have to re-read to get it. I've been reading it off and on for 5 years. I pick up other books in between and come back to it.
My kids are almost 6 and 4.5. I remember when they gave up the 2 naps. I was also devastated. I felt like I was losing my time... the tiny bit of it i had. Though eventually the one nap ended up being just as long as the two put together. It was hard at 1st figuring out a schedule with it, but gradually we moved it to later in the morning and then to after lunch. At first when it was just the morning nap they were falling asleep with food in their mouths at dinner. So we made bedtime a little earlier until we solidly had the one nap right after lunch from 1-4. Then I had to cut it down to 2 hours because they weren't ready to sleep at bedtime which is 730. Now they don't nap at all. My son is in Kindergarten and my daughter is in preschool 3 days a week so I try to carve out a bit of time during school time for things I want to do; not just what has to get done. I feel like with motherhood you're just constantly adjusting to many different things. 💛

I’m a relatively smart person and sometimes my reading comprehension is just not what it used to be. I refer to it as my mom brain.

Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and shunned evil.

I don't watch or listen to anything ungodly, I don't even walk in the council of the ungodly, or even stand in the away of sinners. I don't listen to secular music, or watch unholy movies. Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
The biggest saying in the world by some Christians and the ungodly people is that no man can be perfect. But that is the biggest lie manufactured by the Devil. We have to strive to become perfect by shunning all types of evil, just like Job did, it's all about perfection. Jesus clearly said in warning, "Be ye therefore perfect because your heavenly Father is perfect." I do not believe for one moment that our God is going to take imperfect people to Heaven. Psa 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
Pro 2:21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
Psa 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Psa 37:10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. Psa 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Jde 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, Jde 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
God takes being perfect very seriously!
