Thank you for watching this video... I hope you enjoyed it! I worked on this for quite some time whilst having to deal with all the inevitable complications of moving to a whole new continent, so apologies for the delay in video uploads. Please look forward to more videos in the future!

i’m just scared of the racism towards black people there :( .
it’s mainly the old gen! the younger people are very understanding. When you go there if you’re a darker person you may get looked at from everyone in a weird way, BUT it doesn’t mean they’re judging you they just never see a person of color out there because it’s rare. They probably will take pictures because they find you as an interesting person because it’s once in a life time chance :)

That's right
To be honest, I'm a little worried about moving to South Korea. Don't get me wrong, I'm also frickin excited! But I've heard that there are a lot of toxic beauty standards that find a way to get to you no matter how independent and confident you are. Not that this is the biggest issue, but for younger people like me(I'll be 18 in a year), it makes me fear how my experience will be affected if I let conformity take over.
Thats true, also a lot of asia country are very racist. Most with aferican Americans.
That’s true. Even Korean’s themselves judge each other very harshly if you’re not at that level of “beauty standards”. As ridiculous as it sounds cuz when this country is so advance, the elderly Koreans are still close minded, so yes that’s why they’re racist (not all) ☹️
What do you mean?? Is something wrong with their beauty products??
@@The_JourneyBegins_-_ no we talking about korea beauty standards. Like how u look, dress and how much u weight. They care about if ur trying to find a job ect
@@littlemissyyy dnt worry the girl in the video will kno how hard is in Asia in no time. She prob go to the tour guide thing which all asia country have. The tour always show u the best of the best places ect. She dnt kno how hard it is to live there and how hard to make money by herself in Asia. Most Important is how to communicate with others. Finding a job ect. Not all korean kno how to speak English.
I’ve been in Korea for a little over a year. Koreans always leave the seat beside me on the bus... they’d rather stand than sit next to a 외국인 apparently. Haha. You aren’t alone.
From a perspective of korean, the reason why people didn't sat next to you might be the fear of speaking english. Most of koreans have a lack of confidence when it comes to speaking english, so they might have been trying to avoid any chance having conversation with 외국인.
Sorry if you felt any racism.
They never left the seat open next to me. Most people make themselves comfortable right next to me but on the bus yeah if there are no open seats then someone will sit next to me.
They did the same when I was there unless there were no other seats. Lol. And even then sometimes they still wouldn't. There was an elderly woman who kept petting my hair and saying pretty over and over. I think it might have been the only english word she knew. Lol. I thought it was cute. But then decided I needed to learn a polite way to explain my bubble, as in personal space. Lol
@Lily Valac well is different cultures, different mindsets.

I lived in Korea for many years and I loved it! Just remember it’s a different country with different culture and we need to respect it. Koreans are a lot more thoughtful and caring than we are used to and it may seem strange, even intrusive, in the beginning. But try to learn THEIR ways. Korea has 5000 years of history and they do things with reasons that worked for them for that long. Korea is an amazing place to live! Enjoy!!
Is it hard to live there without knowing Korean

I think that it's really amazing that after, 4 years was it?, you were able to work it out and move to Korea! That's really amazing. // How many hour in total was the flight from Britain to Korea? // The Airbnb you stayed at looked so lovely, I have multiple places where other Korean people (and foreigners) stayed at and --let me tell you girl, you got the upper hand on the location. The places they stayed at were truly frightening lol since there was mold (mould?), things held together with duct tape, and super dark. // Perhaps it's because I've never been to Korea, but everything is just so photogenic haha.
