As a VA that started within the last year, I've been more in tune with all of that and it has been super discouraging for many actors out there but that hasn't stopped the progress of the majority from fighting against this deal. There have even been talks of starting a union specifically for voice actors since SAG dropped the ball in regards to it's members.
I just want to thank you guys for making longer videos like this. For me personally, the longer the better.

I know ads are needed to keep CZcams going, but my issue is they don’t curate their ads worth crap, and among other things, you don’t reward bad behavior. I’ll play nice and watch the ads if they’re better curated. Simple.
They pushed it beyond what people can handle. 8 ads in a row plus the sponsor ads in videos. Its ridiculous. Greedy behavior
I read something fascinating about this.
Apparantly normally websites that operate off of ads(so not clicks) consider people with adblockers a net loss and dont count them as revenue, because they figure if you use an adblock you were never gonna buy anyway.
CZcams instead promises that 100% of viewers(or a large amount) are viewers for ads. Which is why they have to fight so hard.

24:30 You know who also don't get the respect and recognition they deserve? Extras (on a movie set). I have tried being on a couple of productions, and while the other extras are the sweetest people in the world, you are less than air to not only the actual actors, but to the crew as well. And I'm like, of course the actors are the main attraction, but without extras the scene wouldn't feel alive or authentic. So yes, they bring the story and the talent, but the extras breathe LIFE into the set. It's like a singer with no background dancers, or without a choir, something's missing and it feels off.

Yeah I bought CZcams premium years ago AS AN ALTERNATIVE to using Spotify for CZcams music (I bluetooth into my car).
Given that it was basically the same price and I got rid of ALL ads was awesome, especially since I watch CZcams on my TV's (which is much harder to block).

With CZcams deciding to try and melt my cpu for using an adblocker this is unfortunately my last CZcams video I'm going to be watching for the forseeable future. I can't afford to replace my cpu and I live in Australia so I'm just not risking it, I'll still see you guys on Twitch though!

It turns out it wasn't youtube, it was the adblocker (supposed to be patched now). I'm not saying youtube isn't doing other shady things but the best thing you could do is just stop using chrome
For some "behind-the-curtain" on how many established private corporations work with chief executives... The board of the company or (in the case of Twitch) the owning company will hire a chief executive for a specific company shift. So, the current head of Twitch was likely hired for the specific purpose of shrinking the overhead.
Twitch, like many companies, was grossly over-staffed as a result of the long period of near-zero percent interested loans leading to a bubble of VC investment. So many companies, like Twitch or Discord, were what's known as "zombie companies", which are companies that are not profitable but investors were giving them money (often from VC loans) for potential future IP returns...
People don't realize that SVB going under has a lot to do with why all these tech companies are downsizing, since it was the source of the VC loans popping up these zombie companies.
I have CZcams Red and have noticed slowdown on my phone whenever im using it. At least for the last month or so

The CZcams piece would still be illegal in europe because if YT are still checking for adblocking in order to apply the CPU affect then they are still needing to run or execute unauthorised code on the users computer wuthout consent in order to determine if an adblocker is running.
The reason youtube won't let you turn off your screen and keep playing CZcams video in the background is because how are they gonig to show you ads if your screen is turned off? With premium this is not an issue since there are no ads
The SAG AFTRA deal isn't actually bad on Replica's end: the actors have to give permission to use their voice on every individual piece of media it's used it and can opt out at any time, on top of whole thing being a temporary deal of one year, at least everything I've read about the deal is above board in fairness to the actors, the fact the deal was made by SAG without consulting any their members is the problem.
The deal itself and AI it self and the fact they went on strike to prevent this type of thing from happening is the problem. I’m a VO actor and I’m pissed

What probably happened with The Mandalorian is Pedro demanded a big payout and the only way they can make that happen is a theatrical film. Fits the whole "Pedro won't return for season 4" narrative because TECHNICALLY a Mando movie is NOT a "season 4".

That Apex pricing thing is why I quit playing Tower of Fantasy. I wanted a costume out of a lottery thing, each turn in the lottery gatcha costed more(doubled if I remember correctly). They put a certain count on the items in the gatcha, so you could see what is eliminated from the item pool. After spending about $35+ trying to get that one costume, I got EVERYTHING else except the costume. It then really hit home that there is no real "luck' in these games, they truly manipulate you to think you have a chance or close to a reward. Haven't touched that game since. With Tekken 8, Like A Dragon and Persona 3 on the horizon, that game is taking up valuable disc space.😤
At this point there really needs to be a law that threatens management as equally as it threatens laboring staff in companies. Talent and project direction isn't a "harder" job than performing an actual service, just a different one. At the very least they can't keep getting away with blaming the chess pieces for messing up when they were the ones who put them in a bad spot.
To be fair the Beatles thing was done with Ringo & Paul's involvement they had an unreleased track with garbled audio A.I. was used where needed to separate the voices from the music, clean up the voices so what they were saying could be understood, A.I. was also used to clean up the music too, and then the audio & the music were digitally compiled back together to give the track that newly recorded feel

YT Premium is too expensive. I'd consider it for half the price but that will never happen as they raised the price a few months ago.
I use Chromo at work and CZcams always slow down the PC and in Home the Brave browser dosent give youtube a chance because it blocks auto

Lol. To be fair i still have my 55” 3d tv, a sony bravia, and the ps3 3d glasses from over a decade ago. And the tv is still working great, putting out 1080p at 480hz refresh (software boosted, of course). Some movies and games from those days do look really good in 3d. But even though it didn’t catch on, the tv itself is still great and makes even my ps5 games look really good with that high refresh rate. It’s still my family room tv, simply because I don’t want to have to deal with remounting it.
It really isn’t thicker than modern TVs. I also have a 4k bravia with 120hz native refresh (software boost to 240hz) in my newer gaming room. It’s obviously lighter, being a much newer model, but dimensionally it doesn’t seem much different than my older 3d bravia.
I would consider youtube premium if there was a No Ad only option as I dont need there music at all. $14 a month is way too much & I'm surprised Google hasnt come out with a No Ad Only option. Say like $5 a month for those who use different music platforms yet stil want no ads on CZcams.
I don't think I've seen Joe this angry and broken before and he gets angry at everything. EVERYTHING. Also, wow. Alex had to remind me that Twitch hired a "deer person" for, what was it, their Twitch Safety Council which basically amounted to nothing but a title without actual power. That was a weird time for Twitch and they've had a lot of weird times in the past. Also also, it's worth noting that Sand Land was a one and done manga volume by Akira Toriyama all the way back in the year 2000. It ended getting a movie adaptation last year and it's getting an anime series this year that's been picked up by Disney of all companies. The game's set to release around late April this year.

As for the CZcams making your PC sweat, its true. Its trying very hard to overspam the RAM. i have a super computer and just 8 YT tabs will be considered 46 and take 5GB of RAM. It can be much higher as time goes by - specially if you game.
I thought my pc was dying the last few days. Everything on CZcams was loading in slow motion including just pausing
a video. Videos would also start at lower quality settings. I bought premium the last time they tried to block adblockers. I'm glad you covered this. I disabled AdBlock on CZcams only and now its running normally.
It's because your adblock was at fault. Don't know which one you are using, but one of the major adblockers released a note saying it was their fault, but not it's patched

I've read that the devleopers of AdBlock have stated that the slowdown issue was due to an update to their software, not any nefarious effort from CZcams. It's fun to scream "Evil CZcams will destroy your computer so you have to watch ads", but can we maybe wait for facts once in a while?

Couple stories you guys are a bit behind on, the whole Capcom putting DRM to block mods in old games (Not to mention multiple DRMs in a single game), they think mods are cheating and bad, also Riot installing rootkits onto peoples PC's who play League of Legends, hope to see these covered next time.

The Beatles song 'Now & Then' didn't use AI to create any new beatles song/parts. They just used AI to separate the piano from Johns voice in the original demo. I'm not sure if that's the song the guys meant.

So, the contract negotiated by SAG allows voice actor to green light when their voice can be recreated using A.I. for a game, but my question is, will those voice actors be compensated? Will they receive royalties? Because if not, these V.A's need to boycott speaking roles with companies that have voice archiving tech within their contracts.
Well I'd imagine the voice actor just wouldn't green light it without being compensated. They probably won't be compensated to the degree that they would for a normal contract, but they shouldn't be, really. Otherwise there's little to no point in using the AI. But hopefully it's still fair, whatever that might mean. I mean, how much should you really be paid for literally doing nothing? It's a hard question. Genuinely.
