I once drove 1,000 miles to go to Portland, Maine to get fresh lobster out of the water and it was worth it and can't wait to do it again. There is absolutely a huge difference getting lobster fresh out of the ocean vs "fresh" shipped to somewhere else. Also Medha is adorable.

I just paid $6.99 a pound the other day for fresh Maine lobster my favorite food on the planet! It's so cool to see how they are caught and all the hard work that goes into it. We'll worth it IMO.
Catch and octopus and butcher or cook Alive no better animal to destroy. Even if you just want to grill it fry it or chop it and pitch it. Well worth doing over and over. Giant octopus is theee best
They killed them when catching. The lobsters decomposed quickly and they basically fed them rotting lobster. There where Prison riots and campaigns that feeding prisoners lobsters was inhumane

Never cook a lobster with the rubber bands on them. If you're afraid to take the bands off when they are alive, throw them in the freezer for an hour to make them comatose, or put them on their back and split them with a knife from the front to the start of the tail. Boiling rubber bands in your food is never a good idea.
Agree and thanks for the tip about putting them on their back to split them. I have wondered about the best way to euthanize a lobster. I only know how to do it for Dungeness crab.

There is a huge problem with Canadian poachers who ignore the maximum size limit with the blessing of their government, which has illegally occupied an American island and used that and a neighboring uninhabited island to justify poaching in those waters

I went to the Maine lobster fest in the mid 2000s. Me and all my friends thought it wasnt worth the trip at all. It was like any other neighborhood summer fair. The lobsters really weren't all that great either smh
