Title: How to restore TRADITIONAL UPHOLSTERY tutorial
#furniture #upholsteryrestoration - Jak na to + styl
Now people will understand and close their jaws after it’s dropped after getting an estimate from an upholsterer. It takes years of skill and knowledge and it’s an art. I took a course on these traditional methods but we learned how to use tacks. It was very, very difficult and a ton of work and very, very time consuming. Thanks so much all the closeups of the little details … I learned so much!
So true. My father was in the business for over 40 years. I worked with him in his shop and people would gasp hearing the price for a re-upholstery job.
Your video tutorials are helping to preserve a vanishing craft. They will continue teaching long after you are gone. What a legacy!
I never dreamed that there was so much tedious work going into restoring an antique chair bottom!!
Best video yet that I've found showing the process of rebuilding the upholstery of a stripped bare frame to finished piece. Thank you!
If you want to see another masterupholsterer watch buckminster upholstery🙋🏼♀️🌷🇱🇺
Best tutorial video I’ve ever seen! It’s one you want to save permanently for reference!
Excellent - the first time I have seen the corners stitched off correctly . This video is a very good guide to upholstering .
And this is why truly quality furniture is so expensive. The amount of time, detail and care that goes into making it. Fascinating!
This video gives me more appreciation to those who do upholstery especially on older pieces of furniture. I’ve learned so much from watching your video n definitely this one.
I would love to try my hand at it but unfortunately I’ve got arthritis in wrists n hands. Thank you so much for taking the time for sharing n explaining many of the things you do n why. ♥️♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍
Upholstery fit for a King!
Whatever you are charging, it is not enough! What an incredible amount of knowledge and skill you have.
Just the video I was looking for. Thank you. And thanks for not playing that annoying banjo music you hear on videos of this type! Subscribed.
There are only two youtubers whose videos I always look forward to, you are one of them. Greetings from Hesse.
That is going to be a very comfortable chair.
Good job. I did not know how much work it was to upholster a chair. I think I will look for an upholsterer to do my chair.
I love watching your videos. You make it look so easy.
So fascinating to watch. I tried this about 40 years ago but the teacher was very impatient. There were 5 of us students. I was the second to quit and sadly the rest followed soon after. He was very condescending especially to us 2 females. You make me want to get out my old tools and give it another try! Thanks.
Upholstery takes a lot of time to learn.
Strangely enough, I also took upholstery classes about 40 years ago. In NJ, though. I was fortunate because my teacher was very patient and helpful, supplying tools (though some we had to buy), and doing extra bits that required sewing. You need a special heavy-duty sewing machine with that kind of fabric. I'm watching this now because I am thinking of doing a few of my old chairs-- one that I had just bought shortly after taking those classes. (I reupholstered 2 chairs during the class; then hired the instructor to do a couch that coordinated with it. He did a great job.)
@@marigeobrienHello, I am considering taking lessons and learn this so I can re upholster some old chairs I got from my grandmother. There are no springs just "stuffing" in them. Do you think this is a realistic idea or does it take years of practice before one start to get it right? Thank you very much!
Thank the lord for the staple gun 🤣 great piece, again.
It looks like it belongs to the museum! So perfect!
Patients of a saint for such beautiful work! Thank you for sharing!
Excellent! Wonderful to see a craftsman using all-natural materials!
Your upholstery work is wonderful. The attention to detail is impeccable. Beautiful final result
Good job!
You were born to keep history alive.
Congratulations!

You made that look so easy (which I know for a fact it isn't). You are a true master. Thanks for sharing this.
Well what can one say?... WOW 👍🎓
He does it the really old fashioned way.
You have done a beautiful restoration of this antique chair. It's stunning!
I am thrilled to have found your tutorial. The production is so professional that it enabled me to understand certain techniques far quicker, easier, and in more detail than a 9 month college course I attended, and paid ‘handsomely’ for. Thank you. I’m now a subscriber.
Fantastic work. 🏴 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am preparing to restore a mid-1800, extremely elaborate sofa that is literally falling to pieces. I need springs, webbing, fabric, wood repair, little wheels for the feet, everything! It must weigh at least 150 pounds. Has wood shavings, horsehair, etc. It was given to me for FREE because the owner didn't want to mess with it! It's gorgeous and I can't wait to restore it.
People with skills 👍🤗 !

SUPER!
You are a master! Absolutely perfect.
I really learned a lot about this video. Thank you very much.
OKG! What hard work to accomplish so much. Absolutely beautiful!
You are a true master to your trade Sir. Excelent job.
Great job 👍. I’m an upholsterer myself, we’re the last of a dying breed lol. The only advice I would give you is to cover your work table with some kind of fabric (not vinyl because the pieces you work on will stick to it) so you don’t scratch the show wood. I was getting nervous looking st the arms on the bare table 😂.
Thank you!❤
This difficult year has been more bearable because of your fantastic videos. You're an amazing craftsman!
I’m inspired, can’t wait to get started
CONGRATS Master!!!!!!!
GREAT Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CHAPEAU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best Wishes.

Another beautiful job, well done! Thanks for sharing your expertise.
That chair looks incredible! Great job!
Absolutely beautiful. What magnificent work.
Thanks for the details. I'm not in the business or even a hobbyist but I love to watch your magical touch. Outstanding skill set you have bro!
Thankyou this tutorial has taught me so much
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial.
Interesting, necessary webbing tool.
Muy bonito, greetings from MEXICO.
... I'm just trying to get my mouth shut again ... Thank you very much for this exceptionally good presentation of this complicated process.
Inside my cushion I used used value village cushions( the ones that form to your head and stay cool) as well as the horse hair (it came with) I only added new materials and recovered my old chair with leather that came from a jacket my Mom bought me 20 years before she passed. Funny how everyone loves sitting in that old chair nice job just love watching someone work/. my fingers are still sore from caneing a wicker couch on wrought iron/ After paying me to fix it and she gave me all the materials to do the job she ended up backing out and said just keep it. I hadn't even started but it looks good in my yard. I feel very blessed watching You work
Wow. Really didn’t imagine such an amount of work !
Or that many staples..
Você é um artista. Uma verdadeira ode à movelaria. Estou impressionada. Parabéns!!!
How the heck did I miss this restoration? I’ve been subscribed/watching you for some time. Oh well, glad it came across my feeds. Great job as usual.
Thank you for beautiful video!
Amazing work!!
Worth watching every second!
Fabulous work, cannot think this much effort is needed in upholstery work.
Very good work,
Thanks for your video.
Golden hand 👏
Fit for royalty!❤
Beautiful as usual, AJ. I like your videos. I'm binge watching the videos you put out before I started watching your channel.
Thank you for sharing your gift
Excellent job 😊
This is just perfect!
Beautiful!!❤
Best video showing how to rebuild.
Excellent!
Fantastic job! You are a master upholsterer. I never knew so much knowledge and fine detail work went into quality upholstery.
Thank for tutorial I enjoyed
Wow. There is a crazy amount of work that goes into traditional upholstery. But I'm betting all the attention to detail really pays off in terms of making comfortable and durable furniture. Although it looks like at a number of points you elected to go with modern methods and materials. Staples, hot glue, and probably the type of padding used as well. Among other examples. Probably because these were legitimate improvements over what was done in the past. Either because of the time involved or because of improvements in tools or materials. Much like you use power tools to repair wood rather than the tools that were originally used to build the piece. But the end result is still very similar.
Grazie
Just gorgeous work....and the chairs not bad either!
What more need be said other than magnificent!
Great workmanship and beautifully finished👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing how much work goes into doing the job properly. ❤
I can not understand not more subs.
You are extremely talented.
This is insane!

Perfect!
Bravissimo,grazie per il bellissimo video
