I have my exam next Thursday, wish me luck. Thank you, you’re a fantastic teacher 🤍
You are very kind :) I hope your exam goes really well!
Same 😭
Think i left the revision to late help😭
Really appreciate these videos Aimee, thank you for going the extra mile to give us extra material
You are very welcome Cameron ☺️ keep up the excellent work!
very good, helped me understand well. thanks
I am so pleased you found the video helpful :)
Hiya your videos are great, on the spec it states formal and informal policy, but this is not mentioned in the book..please clarify
Hi Sahar, sorry for the slow reply I was looking into your question. All I can think this means is that a lot of policies are not formal or set down by the law. So for example capital punishment would fall under legal as you can't do this unless legally allowed yet CBT or token economy can be informal such as used in schools or requested by the individual. This is my best judgement based on your question and using what the text books provide. Hope this helps :)
Hi I wanna know do we have to revise only individualistic criminological theory from 4.1 because on advanced information it’s only tell us about individualistic theory
Hi Noor, that is certainly how I am interpreting the advanced information. Check out the coverall ppt on CZcams as well to see exactly how I am covering it with my students :)
When the question asks for either state punishment or crime control I don’t get it. Can we use any policy and then evaluate it in terms of crime control or state punishment or are there specific policies in terms of crime control and state punishment e.g penal populism is a state punishment method or a crime control method.
Great question. When I teach my classes I split them into which policies are SP or CC - you can find these on the Unit Two coverall ppt on here :) Let me know if you can't find what you are looking for.
@@IThinkThereforeITeachJust looked at the video thank you, so if the question was to ask “asses state punishment policy’s informed by individualistic theories” and I was to answer with token economics or psychoanalysis would that be wrong because they’re more crime control
@exulqnsischerry8007 I doubt they would ask a state question on individualistic as not many options but aversion therapy works well for that. I would say the other two are more CC :)
Hi, which theory would restorative justice be linked to? Is it part of right realism?
It is more left realism as it is about the person making amends for what they have done such as writing a letter to the victim/family, whereas right realism is more about punishment :)
Time to make a YT AND Teach? You Ma'am, are a legend.
Thank you Matt that is very kind. What is YT and teach?...maybe a really silly Q :)
@@IThinkThereforeITeach I'm assuming you're teaching A Level Crim whilst also uploading CZcams videos to help the general public which is just lovely :)
@@Mattaius yes Matt that is the case, keeps me busy but worth it when I can help other students too ☺
@@IThinkThereforeITeach Well, here's another happy learner! Thank you a bunch.
I agree, superb. Greatly appreciated. Thank you 🥇⚘⚘⚘
Hi I need help with finding case studies that backs up effectiveness of sociological theories in informing policy development
Hi, did the ideas in the video not help with this such as CCTV in James Bulger Case or Penal Populism in our government or the minimum wage/ benefit system in other countries. If you need more just let me know or a more specific area of sociological if you have gaps :)
@@IThinkThereforeITeach hi for any of the policies for use of sociological theories in policy development I just need a case study that backs it as being effective that’s what I’m struggling to find online
@@exauceabibu9401 I think it is because you need to develop your own strengths and weaknesses or why it is and is not effective. So for example James Bulger and the use of CCTV in sociological approaches is effective for surveillance but may be poor quality etc. Hope this helps :)
If a question says 'EXAMINE the crime control policies' do I need to say how effective they are?
Examine questions most often come with higher marks so evaluating them would work well to extend your points :)
@@IThinkThereforeITeach what if its only 6 marks
@@kairobriars assess or evaluate questions need clear strengths and weaknesses so a 6 marker with examine would be specific clear detail but not necessarily effective or not :)
thank you for your fantastic vidswhich are very thorough covering even fgm and eugenics euthenasia. I declare not vaccinating a child is a natural civil right
Thank you :)
