    Hiya your videos are great, on the spec it states formal and informal policy, but this is not mentioned in the book..please clarify

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach
      @IThinkThereforeITeach  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Sahar, sorry for the slow reply I was looking into your question. All I can think this means is that a lot of policies are not formal or set down by the law. So for example capital punishment would fall under legal as you can't do this unless legally allowed yet CBT or token economy can be informal such as used in schools or requested by the individual. This is my best judgement based on your question and using what the text books provide. Hope this helps :)

    Hi I wanna know do we have to revise only individualistic criminological theory from 4.1 because on advanced information it’s only tell us about individualistic theory

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach

      Hi Noor, that is certainly how I am interpreting the advanced information. Check out the coverall ppt on CZcams as well to see exactly how I am covering it with my students :)

    When the question asks for either state punishment or crime control I don’t get it. Can we use any policy and then evaluate it in terms of crime control or state punishment or are there specific policies in terms of crime control and state punishment e.g penal populism is a state punishment method or a crime control method.

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach

      Great question. When I teach my classes I split them into which policies are SP or CC - you can find these on the Unit Two coverall ppt on here :) Let me know if you can't find what you are looking for.

      @@IThinkThereforeITeachJust looked at the video thank you, so if the question was to ask “asses state punishment policy’s informed by individualistic theories” and I was to answer with token economics or psychoanalysis would that be wrong because they’re more crime control

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach
      @IThinkThereforeITeach  Před měsícem

      @exulqnsischerry8007 I doubt they would ask a state question on individualistic as not many options but aversion therapy works well for that. I would say the other two are more CC :)

    Hi, which theory would restorative justice be linked to? Is it part of right realism?

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach
      @IThinkThereforeITeach  Před 7 měsíci

      It is more left realism as it is about the person making amends for what they have done such as writing a letter to the victim/family, whereas right realism is more about punishment :)
