- www.fuguestatef... - Olivier Messiaen Transports de joie (from Virtuoso! Music for Organ).
Daniel Moult (www.danielmoult...) performs virtuosic twentieth-century music on the organ of Bridlington Priory.
The twentieth-century saw some of the most audacious works ever composed for the organ. In this film with accompanying CD, acclaimed British organist Daniel Moult performs some of the most exciting and virtuosic of these pieces. From Schmidt to Messiaen he leads us through a bold selection of French, Austrian, Dutch and Australian repertoire.
By presenting the art of the organ virtuoso in close-up detail and with full surround sound, this DVD makes this music both exhilarating and accessible. The organ in Bridlington Priory, UK (1889 Anneessens / 2006 Nicholson), with its great power and array of beautiful colours, is the perfect vehicle for such a programme.

I am grateful that CZcams features such grand artists and organs.. This video is not just played "bravo bravo" but...
the camera work AND editing is something you usually don't see in programs like this one. And the quality of the
audio is right on! I can listen through a fairly decent system and this has been well recorded. Thank you.. Paul
Fingers like spiders dancing on the keys, one of the best renditions of this piece I have heard
this organ is so beautifully toned. great playing too. love it! divine mastery!
Always a joy when DM plays.
I am in complete agreement with the earlier comments: this performance is remarkable. The recording quality and organ sound are scarcely less impressive than the playing. Thanks.
love the videos of the pedal work
Großartige Aufnahmen -:- excellent records
GREAT performance! Lovely instrument ... just perfect for this piece!
excellent rendition of "happy trucks" lol Love the organ too!
Well played Daniel
J'adore.
I want more of this. I could listen to discordant organ forever...
Wow 😊 hope you get to play the Boardwalk Organ, Atlantic City. And please play some Messiaen!
Has anyone viewed this piece as a dialogue between God and recalcitrant/rebellious Man? With admonishments, arguments, protests, and finally reconciliation? Very clean and clear performance. Wrote a paper on it in college. Would give anything to see what nonsense that 19 yr old came up with in the paper at that time!!! Years before perceiving it with the above interpretation
Outbursts of joy before the self-fulfiling glory of Christ.
Anyway, do contact me if you wish to see music by 19-year old Messiaen (or search online). The music here dates to when he was 24.
Bruh he’s my uncle
I want this at our wedding.
Let just run through those chord passages so they are obscured - oh my!
sounds like the problem with the multiple windchests has been solved
Messiaens organ compositions are god like. This player IS god...
