Eevee heroes was scammed so often many Japanese suppliers of American stores refused to sell them anymore. Ironically made them more expensive because of a shorter supply on the US side
i got korean 151 packs from someone on facebook marketplace instead of japanese and reported it to paypal and they said since the items were so similar they werent technically falsely advertised and not different enough that i am eligible for paypal to refund it. ridiculous.
Wowowow??? Did you have any ability to fight this? The appearance similarities shouldn’t matter at all given the value disparity. That’s actually shameful and I bet if that case was looked into more, that decision should or could be changed. But I can totally see that happening….

I'm American and been living here in Japan for 8 years. Something that I like to tell people as a warning that when you use proxy sites, people here in Japan get a notification telling us that someone is using whichever site they are using / That they are from outside Japan and tells us we can cancel the order. They do that mainly bc lots of Japanese people honestly don't want to sell to foreigners. That is why so many people will win bids on yahoo JP or buy stuff on mercari etc and it will get cancelled.
The other side of this is that if they legit have boxes for sale or anything for that matter. They can scam easily. Lets say they get the notification and then just send scam boxes bc they know its foreigners. If they get a buyer inside Japan and its local they send out the real item.
Yeah I did my best to quickly explain that scenario in this video. It was at the end but it’s like a major epidemic exactly as you described it. The Culture itself as anti foreigner is real over there.lol

yeah, I been here a long time and the sooner people realize Japanese people are just like everyone else / Japan is just a country etc the better.
I've been telling people about this stuff for years and got attacked or called a liar bc " Japanese people are always so honest etc ".....

No need to use proxies anymore. I don’t even bother with singles from Japanese shops anymore. Too risky and I simply don’t trust the Japanese anymore when it comes to buying through their shops. Luckily things have calmed down and we can get boxes for MSRP and even under that in come cases

that's funny, I got scammed on buyee BUT for a single, not even a sealed box lmao I bought a sealed shiny treasures box with a gardevoir ex sar and the box arrived but not the card 💀

Can anyone recommend more safe places to buy pokemon packs, booster boxes, etbs. Japanese or english. My son recently got into pokemon cards & resparked my interest too.
The 2 stores I mentioned poke_ne and pokecollect are ran by good dudes and fellow CZcamsrs. They have rock bottom prices. eBay can be a great back up.
Do you know of some reputable sources to bye from online I could check out?
Are you looking for sealed or Raw? I’d stick with eBay for singles. @pokecollect or poke_ne for sealed boxes

@@tylersmith1639 TBH sealed Japanese modern is available on Amazon, EBay and other major platforms. But poke collect and poke_ne did make names for themselves here in America as Japanese card sellers so that’s why I suggest either of them
Older Japanese sets I would only order on eBay.
