From what I understand, the game used a mechanic called Lament So I was thinking, Lamentation or Aria Lamentus might’ve been a cooler name for this game Grim Coven is still ok though 😊
Nice to see the two of you have a shared excitement for this game! I'm coming round to the idea of this game, and am thinking that I will probably back it. Maybe one day my wife will be as excited to help me unbox the final version :-)
The pen and jar of blood that were provided are for you to sign the pact (in blood) before you start playing. Nice observation near the end there. I'm so looking forward to this campaign! Fantastic unboxing video, you two!
Cant wait for this one... those minis look incredible. But, most importantly, looks like gameplay is an exciting departure from your typical AR stuff. I am jazzed!
Those sundropped minis look good, will be curious to see how the actual game plays. Also, will be interested to see how well this campaign does with all of the AI controversy.
@@GameBrigade That doesn't really address how they are using the art, primarily because they don't say what they aren't using it for. Admitting to the less shady thing, while omitting the really shady thing is a common company practice for avoidance. The box art of one city scape image was clearly AI generated. Not just adjusted for size, pixel correction. Easy to tell from the way things didn't actually connect together correctly. Certainly doesn't address peoples concerns about AI being built on stolen art. Its great that they are paying artists, but that is only one of the complaints against AI. But if its not to reduce cost or replace artists I would like an real explanation of the benefits of using a tech with very questionable legal issues that are still unresolved. Its also a concern because chat AI is also becoming more in use. Are they also going to use that to do their writing?
So a boss battler is a game that focuses on the battle of a boss vs player characters. In terms of video game analogy think of elden ring or dark souls. Other board games; oathsworn, primal, or monster hunter world
I'm in the minority and absolutely hate AR's washed minis. I find it makes the details harder, not easier to see. Very much looking forward to this game. The aesthetics are very much my jam.
This looks all really good, but I'm afraid a lot of ai art has been used throughout the game. If I remember it had been known that the box art is at least, so if that's really the case then it is very possible the whole design got a lot of ai influence
@@GameBrigade Where? After 30 minutes of searching youtube, facebook, and google, I have found no direct statements from AR on how much, for what, or how they are using AI for their images. The only thing I could find is evasions like, " but we hired more artists."
@@derraldlosey1118 I can't find the statement ATM, but this article references their statement and goes over ARs use of AI Art and it's staff. www.wargamer.com/grimcoven/ai-art-board-games-nemesis-dev
Looks like another bloated tabletop mess to be honest.. so tired of these games. All Awaken realm games are starting to have the same flavor of tons of miniatures and a convoluted game. This is why I appreciated games like Aeons End or things that still have a cool story and lore but aren't so stupid looking on the table. hard pass... love how they throw in buzz words like "Roguelike" and make it extra cringe.
Love when you do videos with your wife.
Guess I should be on the channel more? 😅

I am looking forward to seeing how they implement this into a mechanic
Great video Brian & Jessica ! The art and mini's look amazing.
Thanks so much!
I am living for the art! Thank you for watching! 😚

Love seeing how both of you were excited about the game and the minis :D
Nice video, Brian! And thanks. I’ve got a wicked case of “boss battle fatigue,” so I’m sitting this one out for the moment!

Love the Inkosi, I have a collection of Sebenzas! Grimcoven is looking more and more interesting too, I'm looking forward to seeing some gameplay.
Interesting. I passed on this as I already have 3 of their games, am really waiting for their Lands of Evershade campaign to start up later this year.
These minis with the red sundrop are insane🤩
That's a big ol bag 'o' dice!
You two are a fun couple.
Aww, thank you! 😚
The game looks great, but I'm a huge fan of Awaken Realms ( although I don't own any of their games yet 😭) I have so many on my wishlist.
I would be interested in off brand Bloodborne. but I think I will hold off until Awaken Realms becomes much more explicit in their use of AI,

I am with you for this particular game. With everything already red/black, sundrop seems to hurt more than help. I like it for other games though
And hear the lamentation of their women!!!

They have addressed this already. Awaken Realms has a whole art team on staff. I would check out their official response.

Surely you can come up with a much better phrase than "stupid looking." Sounds like a junior high school insult.
