Supported by TGA, a respected mobility scooter specialist, this training tool was put together as part of a project funded by the Road Safety Trust. It was led by Dr Duncan Guest from the Transport Research in Psychology Group at Nottingham Trent University.
Both new and existing mobility scooter users will benefit from watching this video. It highlights various typical scenarios that scooter users may encounter on a daily basis and how to negotiate them safely. These hazards include road crossings, road junctions, obstacles on the pavement and pedestrians. The material has been compiled from research and filming with actual mobility scooter users and all sequences shown are from their perspective.
