I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and CZcamsr who's been to 61 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This marked the start of my efforts to turn vlogging into a full-time job.
After that European trip I explored much of Asia: visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
I've travelled to North America just once as a CZcamsr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. I then visited the Caribbean for the first time, covering the Dominican Republic, before heading to both Brussels and Amsterdam, then covering Taiwan and the Philippines in Asia. I finished off the year with a trip around Morocco.
I started my travels in 2023 by finally visiting Paris, taking the Eurostar from London. I then headed over to Qatar for a few days, before heading to Asia, with videos following from India, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and Mongolia.

Done 👍❤
Done as well, Jason 😊
Thank you Jason. Very enjoyed your video. Come again ... ❤
I think this is a wonderful, life changing experience for someone under sixty, I’m not fit enough in my seventies, but found this very interesting and informative. I think I’m an armchair traveler these days, but truly enjoyed every minute of this. Thanks for doing this and showing me a fascinating part of the world!
I’m very happy to hear that. It was honestly a pretty magical adventure - unlike anywhere I’ve been before.
if u have funds, u can hire jeep and travel with ease.
Oh such a shame. I have been to Mongolia 8 times. Next year I will travel there again, with an 81 year old and a few 70 ish people. You don't have to be fit. It is an amazing country!! Do it.
When you said "view of nothingness" at the beginning of the video, it struck a cord in me!! Such an ethereal and surreal place this Gobi desert..
That’s cool to know
Jason, I cannot tell you enough, just how much I have enjoyed your videos during the past few years. When I was your age, my first job was with RR (Aero Engines), so I got to visit Derby/England several times a year. Afterwards, I began my main career with American Airlines, so world travel became an obsession for me. As I've gotten older, I've followed numerous travel channels on CZcams. But, without a doubt, yours stand out the best, for the variety of unusual destinations and the quality of your videos! Great work young man, and best wishes as you go forward with your life! Cheers!
Thanks, it means a lot!
If you want to see how green and mountainous Mongolia can be Wild Stride Expeditions do some amazing tours in North Mongolia. Still super remote and untouched but a completely different landscape.
You climbed the sand dunes, the flaming cliffs and endured a sandstorm. Kudos to you Mr Jason Billam!!
Quite a video haha
Awesome video! Too bad I wasnt able to go at the top of the Sand dunes! I didn't know it was that awesome! Also, having way more cameos of myself again in your video is really funny. Haha!
Thanks James!
I am addicted to watching videos of people visiting Mongolia. Just amazing. I believe one of the videos showed a singing sand dune in that area. However, I've learned that it's not exactly the wind that causes the sand dunes to sing, but the avalanche process. Even if there is no wind, just creating an avalanche with your hands and feet can make it sing, but the dune has to have the right layer of sand. So it seems some locals and guides know where those dunes are in that area. Also, if it rained a couple days prior, then dunes won't make the sound because the sand has to be completely dry. Anyway, I'm really enjoying watching your videos.
That’s cool to know!
Jason, you make it look so easy!!! You manage a difficult sand dune hike and still manage to look GQ!!! Beautiful video👍👍😉😃
Thanks haha
You are a very pleasant and a positive traveller. You respect others and respected by them.
I'm blown away by all the wild camels!!!! I never thought about even the idea that there were roaming wild camels!! Brilliant, thanks for sharing this.
They’re everywhere too. You get so used to seeing them in huge numbers it becomes a little repetitive!
I wish I could be there with you; CZcams only goes so far! But those cliffs and sand dunes sure had my heart racing. Scary! Well done! I imagine the Gobi must have been a garden of eden when the dinosaurs made their homes there. You, honored guest, were just late to the party. Lovely video.
Appreciate that - the sand dune was something else. I think I only realised about halfway that it was going to be a lot tougher than I had anticipated. I didn’t bother to film myself climbing the second half (and the steepest bit). I was just so focused on making it to the top!
Jason ,How are you ? While in the end of this video ,I was scared by the sandy storm, Thankfully, all of you were safe! The view of Flaming Cliff is breath taking !The dinosaur's eggs were so interesting! Thank you for your dedication ! Having a safe journey during travelling!
I’m all good, thank you! Appreciate the kind words!
Wow, and Flaming c!iffs, sunset, dino eggs...👍
Quite an interesting video and experience traveling through the Gobi desert, especially the way it looks now full of desolate sand dunes. But 80 million years ago during the dinosaur era, this region was apparently a completely different climate that was warm and humid, with expansive valleys, freshwater lakes, and conifer forests. It's just mind boggling to think about that span of time and how different the earth once was. Look forward to the rest of your unique travels in Mongolia.
This is one of your most magical videos. The choice of music is perfect! I really felt a mystical quality watching it.
Thanks a lot, happy to hear that.
Absolutely beautiful country. Thanks for sharing your adventures. 😃👍
It truly is. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for taking us up the dunes...mavelous!
nice to see you again, Jason!! I feel that Mongolia is a reflective journey to experience!!!
For sure, one of those once in a lifetime sort of trips.
Wow, what a wonderful land... especially the Gobi desert with the sunset 🌇 😊
I really ejoyed and loved your trip to the Gobi desert.

Glad you can travel vicariously through me. Cheers John!

Waooo that’s beautiful but I am a big fan of mountain especially himalaya,,,,,, have you ever been there? If no you must go
Good luck
Not properly no - India, Pakistan and Nepal, many places to see the Himalayas in all their glory!
Thank you so much, Jason! Your videos are fabulous!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another beautiful video. Thanks
Thank you so much for your hard work climbing the sand dune
Hello my friend, it is an enjoyable trip. I feel as if I am on another planet. The desert and dunes are amazing. Thank you. I enjoyed it 👍😘
AMAZING VIDEO THANK YOU
Happy to hear you liked it
Hi there brother when are you coming back to Kenya 🇰🇪 we miss you so much ❤️
I’d love to come back one day - Kenya was incredible!
Wow! Stay safe out there. I'm really interested to see that video about the sandstorms!
Please post the sandstorm video soon! Cant wait yo see it.
A great video Jason its like I was there with you. Your videos of the sunset was awesome. And Peace to you too.
Thanks mate
Very inspiring as I plan out my ‘24 traveling adventures!! Looking forward to the sand storm video.
Awesome. Yeah, I’m looking forward to telling it one day.
You should look closely at rocks you find in desert areas. Lots of good quality semi-precious stones and stuff like that in those kind of places.
I did actually, despite not filming it. There were some beautiful red ones.
Beautiful, LOVE IT!!!!!.
Happy to hear that.
Love your videos! I want to go there! 😊🎉❤
Thanks. One day!
Very interesting, but those sand dunes would scare me, like what if you stepped into a sinkhole. I admire you and perhaps if you had some sort of mat could you slide down the steep dune. Stay safe.😊❤
They were enormous - running down was pretty fun, albeit a bit daunting at first.
very informative thank you for visiting my beautiful country
Thanks for watching!
youre welcome bro ❤
Thank you!
Though we are a great fan of your work, I’d be more interesting if you also take the time to describe the food in each place you visit a bit better. In most of your videos you kinda skip over it. That being said, awesome videos as always.
Wow, what a landscape, amazing views from the top of the sand dunes Jason. It looked very challenging to get to the top.
Thanks for the videos, as per usual a very interesting series but this one particularly so seeing a country that i know very little about. Keep up the great work, a definite inspiration to me with my own travels as I have mentioned to you before 👍🙂
Wow just like a movie dune
Just wandering why didn't you get your bottle of water with you while climbing the sand dunes!
👌👌👌✌️✌️✌️👍👍👍
Dumpling tea is always good!!!
As long as you are not Ross Geller you wouldn't give a damn shit about dinosaurs 😂😂😂
Just for information: Welsh guy called Ash Dykes did cross it on foot, polling his cart with supplies. You were there, you have seen it with your eyes, and imagine to cross it on foot. That guy is incredibly!
Yeah, my biggest regret. To be fair I had nowhere to put it. I was already carrying my GoPro and you need both hands to scramble. About halfway I stuffed my GoPro in my shorts pocket so I could make it. Never wanted water so much in my life!
Welsh guy sounds wild.
Let’s reflect on this for a moment, these travelers are blessed to crossed the desert 🐪 for adventure, they have a place to stay, fresh cooked food etc are people admired them and called them risk takers. In the meantime hundreds of people with their families are crossing the Sonora desert between the united states and Mexico with only what they can carry in their backpacks many many dying in the process, looking for a better life in the other side, but they are referred to as invaders, unwanted etc. Think twice and think deep before you judged someone who is trying to find a better place for their children.
Really Very scary all the best for this expedition
Thanks!
wow
สวัสดีค่ะ 🙏💞
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The real “Fast & Furious”? (^_^)
can i drive my 1000CC MUV car upto dalanzadgad .... as i will be coming from kazhakastan... and then from dalanzadgad, hire a suv to take trips to the deserts and the cliffs... etc? or will my 1000CC car (it is not an SUV, just an MUV) go all the way near the desert
Jason Billam, does Mongolia 🇲🇳 have a lot of outdoors
Just a bit..
@@JasonBillamTravel Ok 👍
🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍😱🙌🙌🙌
how many power bank you have Im really curious? :)
We will be in Mongolia in October.
I had just one powerbank with me. There was a socket in the van and some of the ger camps had one too. It was enough to manage along the trip.
Do Mongolian people speak English ?
Jason good to have you back but please buy a decent bloody microphone.
It’s a good microphone - Rode Mic Pro. Mongolia is incredibly windy.
So rude! @thefever77
You can sneak into China through Gobi desert.
Wouldn’t recommend it!
Did you spot a Gobi bear in your trip to the desert?
We didn’t!
Have you ever fallen from a camel?🌝
Yes I have )
