No....Gen Hodges was in the higher echelons of NATO from 2012-2014. In charge of the Allied ground forces in Europe to be exact. He began his career in Germany in the 80s as a lower ranking officer at that time.

He is not a politician, he would make a great secretary of defense. General Grant was a brilliant general, but, had less success as a President. Eisenhower was a staff officer who regularly dealt with Congress, and, as Supreme Commander, he had the task of organizing the effort, the generals on the ground were Bradley, Patton, and, Montgomery. That, is why Eisenhower had a good presidency. Hodges would make a great secretary of defense, not a president.
