This is a video I put together of some of the craziest finishes in NASCAR history. If you guys have any suggestions, leave them down in the comments below! Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
The thing with NASCAR is that cars pass each other extremely often. In Indycar and *especially* F1, passing is really rare and your qualifying position matters significantly more. In NASCAR it ain't uncommon to see someone from the back half end up in the front, or even 1st. Add to that the fact that NASCAR vehicles are extremely sturdy compared to openwheelers; contact is very common in the sport, and crashes are part of the entertainment, since drivers almost always walk right out of them.
4:50 Is the greatest finish of all time imo. The run Harvick got going down the back straightaway is actually insane; it was almost like tandem drafting before tandem drafting was a thing.
It is a great one, but I have to say, Brad vs Marcos is my all time. The perfect level of beating and banging but no one was wrecked or turned. Just hard heavy racing.
This is more or less how the average race went way back in the olden days before several-mile asphalt tracks and strict build formulas. its a shame times had to change
No, its not the most closest finish in entire motorsport history the most closest finish in motorsport history is the 1971 italian grand prix, where Peter Gethin won by a margin of 0.001 seconds against Ronnie Peterson
@@hunterbunn9703 *11th. It was James Buescher, who became the champion on the Trucks that year. Also, at the Truck race he was turned by Ron Hornaday and collected Joey Coulter, who caught the catchfence. And the winner was John King, another underdog.
1:07 this moment plays out EXACTLY how the final race for the first stage of Initial D did, the way Ambrose manages to steal the inside and cuts right in front of Keselowski mirrors exactly how Takumi Fujiwara won against Ryosuke Takahashi
Now imagine going 199 laps around Daytona and some mutt taps the corner of your rear bumper and you finish back on the pack. I don't know how there aren't more fights.
😭 that auto club speed way finish wow looking back at how exciting that was at your own home track is like something to be so happy remembering about. Just love racing I wonder if anyone else was there for any of these crazy finishes.
I cannot lie this is the first nascar related video I ever watched back in 2019. I want to thank you so much for opening my eyes to nascar. I’ve loved cars my whole life and this was what brought me into the sport. Before this all I knew was lightning McQueen.
This just shows you how things can change in split seconds and effect the entire outcome. Its amazing how veteran drivers get dumped and passed by these newer or less known drivers.
I’d like to apoligize for my original tone on this comment, seeing it now years later I feel it came off as rude so I just edited it now to make it more polite.
That first Keslowski vs Ambrose battle reminds me of the Ambrose vs Skaife battles in the V8 Supercars series, would have brought back memories for Ambrose
The first nascar race I watched was at Sonoma when smoke got his first win I was a big formula one fan when I watched this race the finnish made me love nascar forever
I don't know why I'm all the sudden interested in NASCAR I know nothing about it but I can't click away,it's mesmerizing even when they crash.
Ami NODS i went to the indy 500 practice and now I like watch f1 and nascar crashes
KrazziiYT kinda stalked you and I gotta say you have an interesting playlist. Sorry not sorry.
Ami NODS omfg😂😂 aye that was like 2 years ago
KrazziiYT yeah sure 😂😂
There's no shame in listening to Fetty Wap even tho he wack.

3:02 That's a Cars moment right there
Elemental Sheep right xD
Elemental Sheep lol
The white car didn't have a tongue. And I think he lost.
Unbelievable!
Then they realize the middle driver had a long tongue and he won with it xD If you don't agree.....LEARN HOW TO TAKE A JOKE
6:13 "have you ever, no i've never!"
8:19
Race Car: So? Do I look bad?
Camaro: No! Don't worry! You're okay... *Slowly backs away*
ßaron lol.
They were probably just moving out of the way so 88 could get it’s garage.
Funny
Don't take me out coach! I can still race!
@@realsupernova222 LOL

@@monstertow2449 Daytona 2007 the beautiful finish 5:04
Lmao true
Mateus Henrique p
The aggressive moves by Regan smith at the 2:50 mark to win there was incredibly impressive.
Man Casey Kane won that. Worst call in sports history with the yellow being thrown way too early
3:04 that reminds me of when chick, the king, and McQueen on the last lap
1:11 now that's a pro gamer move
4:50 Is the greatest finish of all time imo. The run Harvick got going down the back straightaway is actually insane; it was almost like tandem drafting before tandem drafting was a thing.
Was so bummed for Mark Martin cause he was so close
@@mikeyoungblood1642 Yea I hated it for Mark but Harvick is my favorite driver so I was happy as well.
It is a great one, but I have to say, Brad vs Marcos is my all time. The perfect level of beating and banging but no one was wrecked or turned. Just hard heavy racing.
0:21 - 1:17
That is what i call real driving. Marcus Ambrose is the surprise winner
This is more or less how the average race went way back in the olden days before several-mile asphalt tracks and strict build formulas. its a shame times had to change
His experience of V8 supercar some what helped him with that
F-14 Tomcat Tobar somewhat, are the Supercars a joke to u, u have been banned from Australia
Kyle Thompson Ambrose is the king of road courses. Barely much competition.
@@monarch6361 Ambrose was good at RC racing in NASCAR but he wasn't as good as Jeff Gordon
8:02 Look at all those fans in the seats, and that was just a nationwide race.
But then, it is Daytona...
Finish made up for it
"TWO one-thousandths of a second he beat Bowyer"
"Okay, a sixteenth of an inch!"😂😂 my favorite DW line ever

2018 QQQ Powershares 300 had a margin of victory of 0.0004 seconds. This race had a margin of victory of 0.002 seconds.

the most closest finish in motorsport history is the 1971 italian grand prix, where Peter Gethin won by a margin of 0.001 seconds against Ronnie Peterson

That scene when Busch comes out of nowhere blasting through Logano reminds me of the part in Cars 3 where Jackson Storm wins his first race
The Ambrose Keselowski finish is the EPITOME of a perfect finish. Violent and Dramatic and all around incredible racing.
Seems like past finishes still way better than now.
10:00 was probably the craziest finish. I mean, almost everyone up front crashed
he passed 10 cars in turn 4 to win 😂

weeb moment
If this f1, penalty all around lol
Michael Decker F1 is a non contact sport. This is as aggressive and bare knuckle as it gets.
Thats like comparing point fighting to full contact
This is hard racing,pure racing
Nascar is sport contact
That’s stock for you, bump and run
11:42 I will finish it even if I am literally on fire.
So Blake Koch was gansta?
Richard Petty - 1992 Hooters 500
I just recently got into NASCAR and can’t believe how cool it is to just watch cars race. I should have gotten into this sport years ago

The 2007 Daytona 500 is arguably one of the craziest final laps of all time for Nascar
But, the 1979 Daytona 500 is the most important.

I love how in the interview Carl Edwards says he wrecked him on purpose and wasn’t penalized. I’m confused.
Where’s the 2006 Piston Cup?

That Regan Smith win was one of the best pieces of driving I've ever seen
That camera angle at 1:10 and finish was pure adrenaline
The first nascar video I watched it’s good revisiting this

The moment at Nascar with the 99 driver was just epic. He finished the race running at the finish line. ( He is a Marathon runner) Good job .👍👍

Why NASCAR ever stopped road racing is beyond me. Just look at the first race.
They stopped?
They never did

Allen bestwick is so awesome. Wish he was still with nascar. NBC needs him
He most likely won't ever go back to NBC. He's not really on good terms with them after they kicked him to the curb for Bill Weber.
Jimmy Johnson : You didn't see me coming :)
