      The thing with NASCAR is that cars pass each other extremely often. In Indycar and *especially* F1, passing is really rare and your qualifying position matters significantly more. In NASCAR it ain't uncommon to see someone from the back half end up in the front, or even 1st.
      Add to that the fact that NASCAR vehicles are extremely sturdy compared to openwheelers; contact is very common in the sport, and crashes are part of the entertainment, since drivers almost always walk right out of them.

    4:50 Is the greatest finish of all time imo. The run Harvick got going down the back straightaway is actually insane; it was almost like tandem drafting before tandem drafting was a thing.

      It is a great one, but I have to say, Brad vs Marcos is my all time. The perfect level of beating and banging but no one was wrecked or turned. Just hard heavy racing.

      No, its not the most closest finish in entire motorsport history
      the most closest finish in motorsport history is the 1971 italian grand prix, where Peter Gethin won by a margin of 0.001 seconds against Ronnie Peterson

    The Ambrose Keselowski finish is the EPITOME of a perfect finish. Violent and Dramatic and all around incredible racing.

      ​@@hunterbunn9703 *11th. It was James Buescher, who became the champion on the Trucks that year. Also, at the Truck race he was turned by Ron Hornaday and collected Joey Coulter, who caught the catchfence. And the winner was John King, another underdog.

    😭 that auto club speed way finish wow looking back at how exciting that was at your own home track is like something to be so happy remembering about. Just love racing I wonder if anyone else was there for any of these crazy finishes.

    The 2007 Daytona 500 is arguably one of the craziest final laps of all time for Nascar
    But, the 1979 Daytona 500 is the most important.

    I cannot lie this is the first nascar related video I ever watched back in 2019. I want to thank you so much for opening my eyes to nascar. I’ve loved cars my whole life and this was what brought me into the sport. Before this all I knew was lightning McQueen.
