    Hi guys
The jury is out! I tried this because I love the original formula. But how does the sheer glowy formula perform on my mature, combination, textured skin? Hmmm... Let me know if you've tried the Clinique Even Better Glow foundation and what your thoughts are.

Hi I can't get a shade match in clinique, but I do have some tips for a glowy base without accentuating pores/texture. I have super dry skin and yet at 50 have some stretched pores across the nose and inner cheek area (rosacea induced). How I get a glowy look is all about the base. A pore filling primer just on that nose/inner cheek area does help, but on the perimeter of the face a really glowy primer gives a more healthy look on my skin. Also a couple of drops of a liquid glow product mixed with a more matte foundation, used on the perimeter of the face adds to that healthier look. By keeping the centre of the face slightly more matte you don't look sweaty/oily and it diminishes the look of those pores, yet the rest of the face looks dewier. A matte powder used just on that centre panel can also help with a more glowy product looking less oily. Now that you have both foundations, you can apply them in different areas and also mix them to get the desired effect. All of these different ways of applying will probably give you more of the look you want, whilst still keeping texture in the mid face minimised. Even those with dry skin (as they get older) often have texture to minimise and indeed when I was young my pores were tight and barely visible. I only needed sheer to light coverage (prior to rosacea) and tinted moisturisers were a go to. I still love the look of the skin with a glowy base, but I need more coverage now of redness and texture. None of my foundations are really glowy as such, but I add glow where it looks the best and truly matte never looks great on me - it's very dry looking. A satin or natural finish is my favourite and I add the glow where I want it. I hope that helps. Best wishes.

Hi Lorraine. A light bulb went on as I was reading this! You are so right. I can apply the different textures of foundation to the different areas of my face. I had not thought of that before! Thank you for that. Primer is also the way to go. I just haven't met one I like yet! I believe that Clarins makes a good one. You are lucky that you don't have a lot of visible pores. That is genetic. But yes, pores can get larger with age as our collagen breaks down. Even though my sight gets worse with age, I seem to be able to see my pores more than ever!! Thank you for some great tips. I'm definitely going to take your advice :)

I hear what you say about wanting more coverage but from this side of the camera your dewey version face looks flawless! I’d like to see what happens when you try Lorraine’s mix and match idea xx Thanks for your unceasing research into all of these products!

Yes Loraine's idea was brilliant! It does look nice on in the vid. I guess I see it differently in my 5x magnifying mirror. Quelle horreur!! 🤣

Each foundation I have performs differently depending on what’s under it. Mine look the most beautiful over very light moisturizers. But most days, what’s under it is sunscreen, and it’s a struggle to find the perfect one to bring out the best qualities of each particular foundation. Mineral sunscreens are often heavy, chemical ones overly moisturizing. I do like this Clinique foundation, I’ve bought it twice.

Thanks for sharing!! I agree, foundations do perform differently over sunscreens. My big challenge is keeping my face Matt and also I hate it if makeup transfers too much. Having said that, I need to try this one again sometime!

@@Fifty-sense yes, same here. If I use a chemical sunscreen with a matte finish, they usually look heavy under foundation, like mineral sunscreens do. Chemical sunscreens without a matte finish look too glowy under foundation. Even matte foundations. It’s a major pain in the ass to be working my way through every sunscreen on the market, but I’m doing it. Really, I should just go back to tinted mineral sunscreens.

Hi Jenn. This is a lovely foundation if you have drier skin. I enjoy applying it with my fingers or a brush. If you have a cream blush, it will work beautifully over the foundation. You can also build this up if you want a bit more coverage. Unfortunately it tends to accentuate my pores but that's because I have combination skin. Let me know how you get on with it 🤗

Hi Maria. No I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin. You can try the Even Better original foundation.
