  • This video looks into choosing the correct wattage and voltage driver or drivers for an LED installation. An LED driver, or transformer as it's more commonly known, is the main power source of an LED circuit.
    It transforms the voltage from mains voltage (220-240V) to the voltage requirement of the LED lights in the circuit which will commonly be 12 or 24V when using LED strip lights, but drivers in all sorts of different voltages to suit any given application.

    Can I use say 2 12w led drivers in parallel for 24w if I didn't have a 24w one handy?

    What about the amperage, what role does that play?

    Hello. I don't know the wattage of the LED strips. There are about five strips of five feet each. How many watts should I get the Driver if I don't know the wattage of the LED strips? is there a standard number you can give? It's for a closet, being used in the drawers. Please help!

    If you connected 2 strips of 12V, does that mean it needs to be 24V or does it remain as 12V but the wattage goes up?

    Can you comment on 5v strips via an LED socket?

    Hello how many lengths LED strip would 36watts run perfectly? Or would 36watts perfect to run 204cm 5050 blue LED?

    • @MHALI-qv9yc
      @MHALI-qv9yc Před 7 měsíci +2

      That would depend on type of led strip you go for and how much watts per metere it consumes since each have different power rating

    I need an LED Driver for a fan with a light. The one I am replacing is 24-36W, AC85-265V 50/60HZ, DC 72-144V 260A. It has one connecting wire at one in and two at the other. Where can I purchase this?

      Are you sure the output is 72-144V 260A??? So the wattage will be 18720W. It seems there is something wrong.

    Been wondering, where does one physically place the driver? Are there regulations surrounding where they can be placed?

      These generally will come in led light fixtures. This will go in the oval or square that is mounted to the ceiling . It’s a pretty tight fit but the more powerful the fixture the more space they’ll leave for it.

      @@trillium_music I'm planning on building my own fixture, it's basically an led strip. It's going in a conservatory so the plan is to have the transformer in an enclosure on the wall, then have a length of 24V line to the strip, but I have no idea if this is legit or not.

      I’m not electrician But to my the best of my understanding as long as they are in a junction box and connected in there you should be fine.

      My mate installed one in a underwater pond and wondered why it wasn't lighting up.I told him to play the rust in peace album near the Pond and it might cure the issue.I had no idea he took it seriously because he invited me over and I tripped and fell into a goldfish pond on the way to his shed while loudly hearing five magics playing.I always wondered if it was karma.
